Excellent point.. One I totally didn't catch.

A combination of the above derails me at different times. I've learned to accept it as reality and move on. Keeping perspective that I'm human and not a programmed machine is helpful.

Completely agree. It's the community component that kept bringing me back. Though, as you say it's nothing like what it used to be back I first started in 2013. The Ban Hammer did some serious damage when it was implemented. I remember when there was NO App and when there was an App it didn't have the bar code reader. I…

I'm not sure Under Armour owns this anymore.. Do they?

I know most of these sites are now charging at some level and adding advertising, etc.. but to strip away a basic functionality on a site that has been plagued with tech issues over the years is silly. I'm not totally sure if this will wipe me out of here but it sure does make me consider it.

First suggestion is to log honestly and accurately as possible. Have patience as it may take time to dial-in, but it will eventually come to be second nature. You don't need to exercise to lose weight, but it is good for us to do. A well-balanced plan of cardio/strength is what I'd recommend, but ultimately find what works…

Agreed. I've been on / off at various points since 2013 and can say the forums (at least) are a shadow of what once was. Once the ban hammer was implemented, it took many, many away as it was used unnecessarily in many cases - almost abused. That said, I haven't found anything better to replace MFP so here is where I come…

I have some work to do to get back to where I feel the best. Feel free to send me a request!!

8 years into the process using MFP with 50+ lbs lost. Some of what I've learned that no one told me going into this or if they did, I wasn't convinced.... - Calorie awareness due to logging. Sometimes I wish it wasn't 'there' in the front of my mind as much as it is, but logging created the awareness. I still 'let go' and…

I'm over heading to 60 in a few years. The way I deal with exercise and weight management is very different than 10+ years ago. It's a never-ending process no matter what age, but I find it more challenging now.

Good luck! Finding something sustainable is key to long term success. Even if it still means ups/downs. At least it's not a complete derailment.

Going to be 56 real soon. I lost most of my weight when I was 48. 8 years has made a real difference in terms of my energy level and desire for exercise. What I desired to do back then isn't sustainable nor reasonable for me today. What's also different for me now is a healthier perspective of what I want for myself in…
