Jealousy will do that. Sometimes people are quick to poo poo a small loss as it's not that big of a deal but then they add it all up and look at the big picture ~ and wish they could do it. So they criticize instead of support, kwim?

I agree with the others, mention it to the principal (assuming a head teacher is the same as a principal) when you check in for the day. Are the resumes going to the head teacher? If so, then great! If not, then be ready for the head teacher to tell you to send your resume to someone else. I'm not sure what the process is…

Thanks! Some of these I can definitely do. Hopefully they'll strengthen it enough to stop the swelling. :)

Last year I gave up 80% of my facebook games and it felt really good. I'm debating on this year. I am kind of thinking I'll give up pizza (my kids and dh eat it weekly or even more often) but instead of giving up I usually try to add in a new good habit. Got another day to decide...

Is it Autumn?

This sounds delicious! I have salmon in my fridge and this sounds like the perfect compliment. :) Tina

I just asked my mfp friends the same kind of thing and their suggestions were to drink more water, try peppermint tea and go exercise when the urge strikes to eat. I am not a tea drinker but I did buy some peppermint tea and I'm going to try that when the craving hits next. Maybe someone else will have an answer ~ once I…

I bet you could use agave nectar instead of honey. I've been told that agave nectar is sweeter so you can use less of it. Might be worth a try. Plus, I think agave nectar is better for controlling blood sugars (thinking diabetics here....)

If I can trick my eldest into eating brownies made with bananas and wheat flour then I'm game. :D He hasn't eaten a fruit or a vegetable *unless you count catsup* in probably 8 or 9 years! Thanks for the recipe!!

Speaking of... did you all see that there is a new reality show coming on tv? It's overweight chefs and their challenges to losing weight. I think one at least is a baker. Congrats on having the courage to toss it out. I pitched a lot of left over frosting after Christmas and my husband and kids thought I was nuts!

What amazes me is that you gave up sugar and carbs in the hardest time of the year ~ around the holidays! That takes tremendous courage! Congrats!!

I am pre-diabetic and was really not surprised that she is diabetic. But what I wonder about is what changes has she made, besides not drinking sweet tea, to bring her bs numbers down into the safe range. I can almost understand why other chefs might be upset ~ she doesn't appear to have changed her cooking style at all.…

Another thing you can do that I love since it's filling is a packet of instant grits. The downside is that there isn't a ton of nutritional value. The upside is that it is only 100 calories and easy to pop into the microwave ~ done in 60 seconds. The butter and cheese flavors are quite good and satisfy that "I need fat or…

My teens prefer AXE but my husband prefers anything that has both a deoderant and anti-perspirant combined as it works best for him.

A cute stylish new coat. Normal winters here are cold and I haven't bought a new coat in years. I've just been layering sweatshirts and jackets even when it's 10 below windchill...

Hi Sam! I started here at 178 pounds last summer and have been slowing taking it off. I gained 5 pounds over the holiday but am back on track again. If you'd like a friend on the journey, please add me as a friend. :) I'm sure you can do it!!

My 11 year old is heavier than she should be for her age also. I want her to eat well and exercise but without suggesting to her that she is too heavy. It's a good motivation!

I hit my highest weight ever and decided that I was *not* going to buy the next size up in pants. So a friend who lost over 50 pounds pointed me here and I started journaling and my new way of life. I've lost 16 pounds so far (was more until Christmas hit) but need to keep going. Right now I'm waivering and I heard this…

You can add me as a friend. I'm not on here as much as I need to be but am working on getting better. I find that having a support system here really does help to encourage and motivate me. :)

You're standing in front of a painting.

This doesn't work ~ it just defaults to my own recipe box but it's a good idea....

Thanks everyone! With all the treats out there, I'm sure a lot of us will be guesstimating. :)

I've sent a few friend requests as well. Feel free to friend me if you wish. :)

I'm 5'3" and started my journey this summer at 179 pounds. I am down to 162/163 but according to my doctor, I need to get down to 135 or below. I've not been lower than 130 my entire adult life (I will be 46 in 11 days ) but was so happy at 140 cuz I could actually eat a little bit and not feel deprived. I love food too…

Hey, I'm 5' 3" too! I just weighed in at 162 point something and need to get down to mid 130's apparently to be healthy. So I guess I'm in the 25 or more pounds to lose group, too. :) (But I'm not really trying to lose over the holidays, just maintain until Jan. I figure I've beaten the odds if I don't gain. LOL!)

I have both but I really love my mac. I started working on an apple classic and have always loved apple computers.

One thing that I used to do when planning to go out and celebrate is to log in those calories earlier in the day for the party time. You can pre-record the alcohol and some snacks, like pre-planning what you are going to eat. Then you can just check in with your phone later in the day, add what you need to or delete what…

You are an inspiration! I so love that you shared this with us! Congratulations!!!

Congrats on your weightloss! I never used to shop the thrift stores because my g/f shopped there and all she got were clothes that looked 30 years old, so I figured that's all they had. Then a few months ago I went with my preteen daughter who is wearing a girls 18/20 (she's too tall for kids dept but hasn't quite…

My pharmacist said that you need to take it on an empty stomach and wait 30-60 minutes before eating or drinking. I wasn't warned to stay away from anything food or drink-wise. I just started on Levothyroxine a couple months ago and for the first time in years I am able to focus on losing weight and staying with it. I just…
