Not I, but it goes right by my house! I'll be out there waving and cheering. I'm running the Capitol Hill Classic in May, though. My first race.

Congratulations! I just walked a LOT during pregnancy--probably an average of 5 miles each weekend day and 2 miles on weekdays (in addition to normal walking around, of course). That's about it. I gave up running when I was only about 8 weeks along; I found it too uncomfortable. And I only gained 25 pounds with my 1st…

I don't eat before my morning runs, though I usually have a cup of coffee. Then I don't usually have much of an appetite for about an hour afterward, either. So my mornings look like this: wake up at 6, drive to work, run from 7-7:45 (on a trail outside my work), shower, get to desk by 8:15, eat yogurt and an apple at 9.…

I had that problem my whole life until I started running, then yoga. Something about the combination has done wonders. Now I've mostly dropped the yoga but added about 10 more miles to my week (my free time is very limited) and that seems to be working great.

You look totally different. And you have the hair I always wanted to have. Beautiful!

Lentils, beans, quinoa, tofu. All are high in protein and fiber. Plus they're delicious. :)

I've been running alone for 10 years with no problems. I live in the middle of DC--not the safest place, maybe, but I've never felt threatened. I never run with music anymore, though, because there have been way too many muggings around here for iPods. And it's much easier to pay attention to your surroundings when you can…

Okay, then I think the problem is with him, not with you. My husband never flinches when I go out for a run, even though it means he's left alone with two crazy preschoolers. That's how it should be.

It's a pretty fantastic job. :)

I'm an editor at a science magazine. I spend my days reading and writing about animals having sex.

I think I'm in the minority here but I think it's possible your boyfriend just doesn't want to discuss weight loss anymore. I have a good friend who has lost a lot of weight in the last year. She talks about it CONSTANTLY. It makes my skin crawl. And no, I'm not jealous (I promise!). I'm at a healthy weight, too. But…

I guess I wonder how many other workout commitments you have during the week. If it's more than two evenings or weekend days, I think that's a lot to ask of your wife. She probably misses your company. Can you fit more of your workouts into time when she wouldn't necessarily be expecting to hang out with you? Like early…

I have similar measurements and my only jeans that don't fall down are my Express Curvy jeans. I bought mine 5 years ago, though--I assume they are still sold, but I'm not sure.

I'm only 5'10 (only!) but I have noticed there are definitely some yoga poses that are much harder at our height. Also, I am a runner and HATE getting a glimpse of myself in windows because I look like a giraffe loping along. I'd much rather have that short, perky stride.

I love running barefoot in the sand, but my ankles and feet hurt after a bit. By the way, you are SO lucky to live in Santa Barbara. My brother and dad graduated from UCSB and I love that area. I think you should try running in your neighborhood. I bet you'll be surprised by how much better you feel now than 2 months ago.

58 miles run in February. You all put me to shame, but it was a good month for me!

Of course you aren't a bad mom. You are probably a great mom. If it happens again, and you don't want to hear her cry, you might try taking her for a walk. When my kids were that little and got inconsolable/just wanted to be held, I would stick them in a carrier and go for a long walk. Made them happy and helped me burn…

Is it possible the sand is to blame? Sand is softer but also provides a much more irregular surface than, say, asphalt. When I run on the beach I always end up running along the shore where the sand is firmer because it otherwise makes my feet feel weird. And then I end up running on a slope, which also isn't great.

Oh, I stop after the recommended portion. And I carefully wrap it and put it back in my drawer/cupboard.wherever. And then 37 seconds later, I walk back and polish it off. Oh, well.

I swear you are my body twin. I have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old and have only briefly dipped back into the 150s since having #1. (That's when I was nursing like a maniac.) 160 is SO easy to maintain, but I can't get lower. I'm going to try being extremely vigilant with calories for the next few weeks. I also want to…

Why not continue with the joices, soups, veggies and lean proteins for a while? If you feel full and energetic, I can't imagine it's bad for you. Also: You sound like you are fit (lots of exercise) and at a healthy weight. Maybe your body likes where it is? I realize that this is a little hypocritical of me to say since I…

I am almost identical to you in height and weight. But I NEVER have trouble eating enough calories. :) Quite the contrary. And I don't eat much processed food at all. (Okay, ignore last night's cupcake.) Some of my favorite healthy foods are high in calories: lentils, quinoa, avocado, feta cheese, olive oil, etc. In fact,…

I like my Nike and REI workout clothes, but Target also has cute, comfy wicking clothes in their athletic section. And WAY cheaper.

Regular corn tortillas are only 40-50 calories and work well for enchiladas. If you're looking for something a little sturdier, Trader Joe's makes low-carb whole wheat tortillas that I really like. Also only 50 or so calories each.

I wear my yoga pants way too often, so I'm not really one to advise you. But I was looking through the Athleta catalog a few months ago and noticed that they have workout pants that look like dark-rinse jeans. I admit that I thought, "Who the heck would want those?" But maybe they would work for you. :) I do love the…

Walk a TON. If an errand is within reasonable walking distance of your house or work, walk instead of driving. Try to fit in some longer walks, too--like 5-7 miles on the weekend. I gave up running early in pregnancy but walked EVERYWHERE and ended up gaining 25 pounds each time. As a bonus, I think all that walking helped…

I didn't follow a plan while breastfeeding, but I generally eat pretty healthy foods (supplemented by coffee, ice cream and cookies). While nursing, I ate when I was hungry and walked a LOT with my baby in a wrap, and the weight melted off of me. I bet I was eating well over 2,000 calories a day and still lost the weight…
-
I lost way more while nursing my first, too! I think it's because by the time I was nursing my second, my first was eating a ton and I was eating right along with him. Mine are now 2.5 and 4.5. They both weaned themselves at 15 months. At that point, I think they were nursing more for comfort than for nutrition.
-
My weight loss really slowed when my babies started eating solids. I've never been skinnier than when my kids were exclusively nursing, and when they started weaning (going down to only 3 or so feeds a day), I gained a few pounds. Once your baby is no longer getting most of her calories from your milk, you can ease way up…

I hardly ever run longer than 5 miles, so I don't carry water. But on hot days, I plan my route so that I pass by a water fountain. This also works with public restrooms :) I live and run right by the U.S. Capitol, though, so fountains and bathrooms are easy to find.
