  • Bump! I've been vegetarian for 11 years and I don't think I've got this many recipes in my repertoire! Thanks for the kick in the pants to do something different!
  • That's awesome! Great time improvement too! Go girl!
  • You are right! I look back to starting C25k and even the minute-runs were SO hard!! I think, "who the hell was that person???" and that was just about 6 months ago! Thanks for the kind words all!
  • Wonderbra? ;-)
  • Thanks ladies! Good luck to all of you, especially on the C25k! I love that program! That's what helped get me running!
  • Definitely get the app, it will help 100%. And in my opinion, time is better than distance for working up your endurance.

  • The increases in these 4-6 weeks are crazy-hard, but you can do it! I did it, and would walk if I ABSOLUTELY had to, but the runs got easier and I still run now 3 times a week (at least 5k per run)... I finished C25k in November and am training for a marathon relay (6.5 mi) in April. Good luck, you can do it :)

  • Does anyone know the science behind this? I don't know much about the powder, I bought some last week for a specific recipe and don't really know how to incorporate it into daily life. I'm not usually a powdered-nutrition type person, but am open to some ideas.
  • 99% of things I think are fine in moderation. Mac and cheese, however, is my arch-nemesis now!
  • Ok, tried it! You are officially a genius!!! Awesome treat after 4.75 miles!!
  • Please someone correct me if I'm wrkng, but your basal metabolic rate is just your base amount of calories you burn just breathing and living for a day. MFP calculates an estimate for you, so it'll also tell you how many you are allowed.
  • I bought all the stuff and I'm going to make it as a reward after my long-run tomorrow!
  • That's true! It's like you feel some kind of momentum, even when it's negative momentum. Just got to wake up tomorrow ready to kick some butt. You can do it, turn it back around! :)
  • This sounds awesome, and the strawberry idea sounds even better. Suggestions on the vanilla protein powder, anyone?
  • Those Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters are amazing!!! Had half of a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich for dessert tonight! They are great too!
  • Man! You look great! I know what you mean about the beer, too. When I first started on MFP, looking up the calories on those beers I used to drink all the time, just going out for happy hour after work or hanging out with my friends on the weekends- it really makes you realize they all add up!!
  • If you haven't tried vegetarian ground-beef substitute, you should use that instead of the beef or turkey. Seriously, adding the taco seasoning and all the other goodies on top, you won't even notice the difference.
  • I buy a bag of special, just-for-me chocolates that I keep in a different cabinet. I choose those small, individually-wrapped Doves and will stick 1 or 2 in my lunch bag before work. That way, I don't have to miss out on sweets, but I pass up the random candy and just opt for my well-planned, perfectly-portioned treat that…
  • About week 4 or 5 it really kicks up, but don't get discouraged, repeat a week or 2 if you need a more gradual change.
  • Yes, you should totally do it. It is downright amazing how at the beginning, even the one-minute runs seemed virtually impossible, but by the end, I could run!! Now, about 3 months after finishing C25k, I am still running 3 days a week. Yesterday I did 4.5 miles. I had an app on my phone and the voice would tell you when…
  • I love to add a little flavored seltzer water (like La Croix) to red wine. It cuts the calories and makes a 4 oz glass last you a lot longer... If you don't like red wine, try white or a gin and diet tonic.
