It's the best and worst 15 minutes of your day.

I went to my OB/GYN back in June and mentioned to him that I'd put some weight back on, in spite of running 4-5 days a week. I asked if the Mirena could be the cause (it was inserted a year ago). He said that he's inserted over 400 Mirenas in his practice and only had 2 cases of legit weight gain caused because of the IUD.…

Can you join a gym that offers child care or buy a stroller? I am home with a 4 year old and 18 month old and my DH is deployed. While my 4 year old is at preschool, I run with the toddler in the jogging stroller. Or I take both of them to the gym while I workout. I also pay a babysitter to come 2 evenings a week so I can…

My days vary according to my training schedule for my half marathon. But as an example, here's this week's schedule. Monday: 3 mile easy paced run and a 60 minute weight training class (Total Body) Tuesday: 8 mile tempo run Wednesday: 1 hour on the ellipitcal Thursday: 4 mile easy paced run and 30 minutes of strength…

It has taken a L.O.N.G. time for me to get to where I really enjoy working out. I started working out regularly after my son was born. Probably mid-April 2009. It took about 9 months before I felt like I craved the need to workout. And these days, if I don't work out 6 days a week, I get a bit stir crazy. It'll come. But…

I replace the meat in my pasta sauce for sauteed zucchini and mushrooms. Still just as yummy and so much more low-cal!

Anything plus diet soda - Captain Morgan and Diet Coke, Southern Comfort and Diet Sprite are good choices. Tonic would seem safe, but it's full of calories - unless you can get diet tonic. My DH enjoys Gin and diet tonic and vodka and diet tonic.

If you have stubborn fat on your belly that doesn't come off - no matter how much you diet and exercise, there's only one way to get rid of it. Costs about $8000 and hurts like a beast. Tummy tuck.

I haven't used the program, but wanted to say good luck!!! My first 10k was last September and I'm excited to be going back this September to run the 1/2 marathon.

Make an exception - Ruth's Chris is amazing Don't eat a dry steak and salad. :noway: That is probably a sin. Order what you want and workout extra tomorrow. :)

Ahh....that sucks!! Ours does misc times during the week. Maybe you could talk to them about organizing something in the evening that you can be in charge of. Here's our local schedule. http://www.fleetfeetknoxville.com/pages/groups.html I really want to go to the track one of these days. EEK! I'm skeered! LOL After Todd's…

Do you have a Fleet Feet near you, Dizzie? They probably already have scheduled runs every week. We have a local runners club here, too called the Knoxville Track Club. www.ktc.org They do scheduled training runs for months leading up to the Knoxville Marathon each spring. There are usually group runs 2-3x a week here.

That sounds similar to what I eat for lunch nearly every day. I use a corn tostada shell, spread with fat free refried beans and a little cheddar cheese. Melt in the oven. Top with salsa, lettuce, tomato, etc.

I hired a babysitter on Friday night (because my husband is deployed) and enjoyed an awesome 10 mile run with my best 10 mile time ever.

Group 387.4 + 23 miles I've done so far in August: Total: 410.4

That's great, congrats!

I can't skip the scale. It's an addiction. While only one weigh in a week counts for me, I still have to get on the scale every day. LOL

My legs are starting to look fantastic. Running all those miles is definately worth it. I was sitting with a friend at church last week and he leaned over and said "wow, you really have runner's legs". Made me feel good. :D

Bigger losses in the beginning are expected. :) WTG!!

Calories burned are calories burned. It may take you longer to burn them, but they'll still be gone. I say good job!

I think it works like that a bit. I get 1200 calories a day. On a day that I don't work out or do something very light, it's HARD to stay within those calories - even while eating very well. But there are days of the week (right now for me it'll be Tues/Fri) where I have very long and/or tough runs scheduled in my 1/2…

For me, it depends on the workout. If I'm going to run 10 miles, I do eat something before. If I'm going to run 3-4 miles, I don't.
-
2 of my favorite foods, but I'm not sure I could put them in a smoothie together. LOL

It really depends on the person. I am someone who is much faster/stronger on the treadmill than outdoors. The first time I ran outside, I could run a 5k in 30 minutes on the treadmill with ease. I couldn't run 300 yards outside without stopping. I don't think that running on the treadmill is nearly the workout you get…
-
There is no comparison. I use both. The 30 Day Shred is a great fill in workout or additional workout for me. If I want to get my butt kicked, then I use P90X.

Me, too! Me, too!! :D
-
Run 25 miles this week Drink my 8 glasses of water every day Lose 2 lbs
-
Good for you!! I'm a runner and I use my treadmill often. For me it's a life saver for the times I can't get out and run outdoors. While I'd much rather hit the road and run my miles, I like having the option to be able to have a fall back when it's too hot, or I don't have a chance to get outside.

That is awesome!!! Congrats!
