I've definitely done my fair share of binge eating. I think the thing that has been most helpful for me is to set a timer. I can eat what I want but when that timer goes off, I am done eating for the night. Period. Then I go to bed at a reasonable hour. When I am up really late I tend to look for something to eat. Take it…

bodybuilding.com has quite a few free programs that are very thorough. I like Jamie Eason's LiveFit program.

I've completed it a few times now over the years. When you first begin remember to modify. You will get stronger and the program does work if you follow it. Good luck!

Excellent advice. Healthy eating begins with being completely honest with yourself about what you are eating.

There are many other ways to incorporate strength training without using your knees too much. Dieting alone generally causes a loss of both fat and muscle. To look more fit you may need to find a workaround for the strength training problem.

Almost all people suffer from a mental disorder at one time or another in their lives. I guess this qualifies most of us to be your friend?

I have three favorites. "Push yourself to failure and you will succeed." "Chances are, the exercises you dislike the most will bring you the best results! TRAIN WEAKNESSES UNTIL THEY BECOME STRENGTHS." -Erin Stern "Obsession is a term the lazy use to describe the dedicated."

Your workout routine looks pretty good. Are you making regular increases? What do you do pre and post workout for food? Adding raw nuts to your diet can help you get healthy fats as well as adding a good amount of calories. Most have 150-180 calories in each quarter cup. I've also heard of taking/drinking healthy oils to…

In the past 60 days I have lost only 9.2lbs. I did, however, lose 14.5 inches in that same period of time. I spend more of my time weight training than doing cardio. I don't lose as many pounds but boy am I losing inches. I've gone down 2 pant sizes also. I'd recommend adding weight training to your routine.

Awesome job! Many people suffer from binge eating problems. Thank you for sharing how you overcame your problems. I agree, black licorice is the best and since not many people like it you don't have to worry about someone eating your candy.

There are a bunch out there. The Lean Shakes (I believe that's what they're called) from GNC are pretty great tasting. I like the Swiss Chocolate flavored one. Taste is so personal though. You should try a few and see what you like.

This.

Hahahaha! This is great! It definitely doesn't just happen without a TON of effort!

My friends haven't really said anything negative about my diary. Sometimes they are curious about an off-the-wall food but no negativity. I think it may have something to do with certain people's personalities more than with what you are eating.

I used to get pain in my knees as well if I pushed too hard during my leg exercises. I have since tightened up my form and very rarely get pain. Form is most important. What helped me was to get into lunge position with the right leg forward and repeat my lunges while keeping my feet planted. That way you can make sure…

Looking great! From Oct 15th to Dec 15th I only lost 6lbs and ended up losing almost 10 inches from my body in that time. Get out the tape measure, not the scale.

It is crazy in January! But on a positive note, I am loving how empty the gym is this time of year. It's almost empty.

It depends. If it's a machine where the weights can easily be adjusted by moving the pin down or up, I will work in. Something like a squat rack I will just wait my turn for.

I agree with the above. Greek yogurt would make an excellent substitute for cottage cheese.
-
Hmmmm...I love cottage cheese but it's not for everyone. My suggestion would be to try it with pears and if that doesn't work, don't sweat it. Have you tried different fat contents and curd sizes? My favorite brand (not available in all areas) is Breakstone's Smooth and Creamy small curd 4% fat cottage cheese. I hope this…

Such a heated topic. People change, as do their values. Being judgmental will get you nowhere fast. It sounds more like you are making a statement/judgment, not being genuinely curious.

A "good" time is very personal. For me a good time for a 10k would be to run it in 55 minutes as it usually take me 58. Each person is in a different place. A good goal would be to try and shave off a few minutes with each run. :-)

I've already crossed quite a few things off during my journey but here's what's left. Take swimming lessons run a marathon do a triathlon water skiing

I completely agree with this!

I don't. The jury is still out (that's debatable for some) as to whether or not it is safe. I don't like the taste and they never seem to satisfy. If I'm having such a bad craving for soda I will just reach for the real stuff.

1.) Pain & Gain (I had to turn it off) 2.) The Good Girl (with Jennifer Aniston. I swear I felt depressed for DAYS after watching it) 3.) Jack and Jill (I have issues with Adam Sandler playing multiple roles in the same movie)
