it's very possible for women to be rectangular shaped and healthy. there's barely any difference between camille's waist and hip. that's sorta what happens when you have a short torso and long legs because there's only so much space for those organs to be squished into

agreed. at a certain point you will need to choose between increasing strength or eating at a deficit more than something like 10% less than your TDEE i did try an experiment (with just myself) to see if i could get away with calorie cycling. so overall being in a deficit but some days i'd eat close to maintenance other…

if you're lifting weights over a certain percentage of your 1RM then you definitely need that time between sets. and your muscles dont cool down.. they are inside your body that's close to 100 degress fahrenheit

good luck i know a few people who have hiked machu picchu and the main thing that killed those who didnt train properly was the fact that it's so high above sea level.
-
why not just stick with what you do like? namely the crustasceans i think all fishies have similar texture. tuna and sea bass are definitely meatier but they are fishy and flakey like fish

this! seriously parents, teach your children good eating habits. forget about him being husky or whatever and focus on teaching him how to eat a balanced diet and be physically active. i also dont understand parents who say "my child wont eat xyz so i cant make it" . like seriously who is the grown up? who's buying the…

your back hurts more than likely from having bad posture and weak abs. i've always had larger boobs ad for a very long time in my life i was 135 and 28 JJ and never had back problems. stand with your shoulders away from your ears, think about pulling them back as if the scapula are squeezing together. yeah it definitely…

same here. the main reason is that all-women's gyms have the tendency to be all about cardio , no squat racks, no dummbells over 20 pounds (or it's hidden), no weight plates over 10 pounds, no kettlebells over 10 pounds. besides that, i need my eye candy !!

i'd suggest going by the RPE. as you get fitter what's considered moderate will change
-
i always thought of it as joggers are more recreational about it, runners are doing it to participate in races or to improve their athleticism for their sport. sort of like the difference between some who cooks and someone who is a chef

there are several bay area people on here. i'm in oakland but originally from the east coast
-
funny you mention crossfit.. that's sorta the materialists ultimate gym experience : paying $200 a month for a 20 min a day exercise that simulates you work out in a makeshift garage gym
-
what does that mean? you kinda glossed over those not all the time binges  for the record, i dont weih or measure my food either but i just assume that im eating 200-400 calories more than im logging
-
easy for me because i dont have a license. but i will someday, hoipefully soon if i can pass the driving test  after that i want a charger, and then i'm gonna be all

5'5 , 216 pounds. i log around 1700 to lose approx 2 pounds a week but since i dont weight or measure i assume i eat around 2100 calories. my current maintenance is 2700-3000. I dont eat my exercise calories back because that's already included

this. my hair is only APL at the moment but I've had up to (or down to) waist length. After a certain length (like shoulder length) I have to wear A LOT of protective styles like french braids, braids, flat twists, 2 strand twists. basically something that i can easily wash and condition multiple times a week AND that i…

yep. agreed. it's not a workout, it's a team practice. every team i've played for if you missed 2 practices in a row without a good reason (out of town, sick, exam) then you didn't get to play in the next game. do it a few times and you'd be off the team. heck, even when we were injured we were expected to be at practices…

but let's be honest, not all of us got overweight by eating 1200 calories a day, some of us got overweight by eating 3,4,5 times that on a consistent basis. the eat more to lose never made sense to *me* because in my world i have never intentionally starved myself. that's stuff people who didnt grow up poor and didnt learn…

i always think about thebold, because after a tough final set i would LOVE from one of the gym dudes to come swoop to my rescue and offer to be my rerack monkey. that's only happened a few times and that was because the weight i had on the bar was what he wanted, so yay no clean up for me. and OP if you're wanting…

strong curves is really good for beginners. i just got the book and there's some good info in there. seems like he gives a lot of variations for things too. i havent done it because i dont think i can do the glute raises with any amount of dignity in public

hiit = high intensity interval training . which means you cycle between doing an activity as fast/hard as you can for like 15 seconds and catching your breath. during the high intensity part you are working anaerobically, so you're not supposed to be able to breathe. also there's a certain amount of physical fitness you…
-
i think you will quickly discover that you can't do this 5 days a week, especially the HIIT. if you're doing it correctly (which i guess if you're doing it for 30 minutes you wouldnt be anyway) then there's no way you're going to be able to keep it up that much. not to mention that fact that all that HIIT (if you're doing…

exactly. healthier isnt about being lower calorie. it's about getting your nutritionally needs met. things i look for are higher fiber and protein in my meal replacement bars, and more fat and protein in my yogurt
-
check out the book strong curves. in addition to post parallel squats, deadlifts and hip brides there's also hill running, box jumps
-
OP it can look intimidating but trust me those guys arent. I'm usually the only woman in any of the weight rooms I go in and i've hardly had any issues with guys being jerks. the 2 times it did happen the jerky guys were newbies to the gym and before i could do or say anything, the other regulars stepped up to shut the…

i suck at recipes but the pumpkin (or sweet potato)+ coconut milk + curry + chilies is one of my favorite combos in LIFE add some other veggies like green beans, carrot, etc and enjoy
-
what difference does it make if you see a consistent drop?
-
yep as long as they were active and werent always boohooing about being overweight and not doing anything about it
-
um...no
