It happens. I think the issue here is that anyone can add to the database. Perhaps someone added that in and didn't care about the cholesterol of the dish (or didn't know), so just put in 0. If something sounds fishy to you, then check it to be sure.

This just came to mind - what about clothing swaps in your area or amongst friends? I have a friend who organizes these about once a year. Everyone comes with clothes that they no longer want and puts it in a pile in the middle of the room. It is then sorted by size and you just take whatever you want (while being somewhat…

I completely understand this. I've lost 37 pounds since May, but I still have at least another 15 to go. People keep telling me how great I look and I've even dropped 5 dress sizes within that time! I definitely feel better than I did 37 pounds heavier, but I also feel just as fat. The other day, I went dress shopping and…

It does not change them automatically in your "goals," which is what I thought you were referring to. (I have mine manually set to 1000 calories and have changed the protein and sodium goals.) So in that case, either don't log your exercise, change your calorie goals to account for exercise (but this would require you to…

You can manually change your goals to whatever you want. MFP does not automatically change them once you have done this. You can do this under "goals."

Are you going solely on profile pictures? As others have already stated, these pictures might be old, etc. Unless you know someone's height, you can't judge.

You clearly have a lot going on in your life. I would suggest making changes slowly. I have found going to the gym daily helpful. I go first thing in the morning. That way I get it out of the way and can't make excuses for not going later on, and I find it helps calm me and ease my anxieties throughout the day. I am also…

Try making simple meals. Baked chicken or fish and steamed veggies doesn't really take that long to make. Just be sure to have the ingredients ready for when you come home from work. Another option is to use a crock pot/slow cooker. Dump all of the ingredients in there in the morning, turn it on low, and it should be ready…

As has already mentioned before, not everyone needs to watch their sodium intake. That being said, I am wondering why your peanut butter has sodium in it. Buy one that is only made of peanuts. It will have 0mg sodium. I never used to eat peanut butter until I started this weight loss journey. Now I usually eat about a…

MIne's open. Feel free to add me, although it tends to be a bit odd and plain.

Thanks everyone! I think part of the issue is that I only see her once every week or two. When I do, it's usually for dinner, and I always save up my calories for those dinners. It's not that they're particularly unhealthy, but they're always fairly calorie dense and there's always tons of wine. While I save up my calories…

Late 50s. I understand her metabolism is slower than mine (which I assume is what you're getting at, although I really don't think that should matter with the comment she made), but she said months ago that she wanted to lose weight, yet what she eats does nothing to help that.

avocados, nuts and nut butters, olive oil... It's really quite simple.

Do you think they meant it as a compliment? My step-mom called me the "incredible shrinking woman" the other night. It has taken me 6 months to lose 35 pounds, so it's hardly incredible, but I know she meant it as a compliment...

I have heard that free weights are better. I used to work out with a trainer who gave me a few programs using free weights. I probably never would have been able to figure out what to do with them on my own. So, if you have a program using them, then go for it! If you're intimidated by them (which I sometimes still am),…

Indulge. Designate one day a week when you work a treat into your calories. Just don't go over board... I know some people swear by a cheat day or cheat meal. I prefer to work chocolate and whatever else I want (within reason) into my calories one day a week.
-
I've lost 35.5 pounds so far (I still have 20 more to go) and I'm not saggy... I do cardio daily and weights at least 3 times per week. I think as long as you're doing weights in addition to cardio, then you'll be fine.

My grandmother once gave me a lump of coal...

Just keep at it. If you fall off the wagon, jump back on the next day. What I found helpful at the beginning was starting off slowly. Don't do a complete overhaul of your diet and lifestyle over night. Think of it as a journey.

Why don't you work in a mid-morning snack? I don't know what time you eat breakfast, but I know with myself, if I eat breakfast before 8am, then there's no way that I'll last until 12 for lunch. I usually eat an apple and sometimes a piece of cheese or some peanut butter around 10am.
-
If you don't feel satisfied with fruit as a snack, then try adding in a protein. For my afternoon snack, I'll sometimes have an apple with a piece of cheese or some peanut butter. I find the combination of fruit and protein helps keep me full longer and gives me more energy. If I'm still hungry a little while after that,…

I think Lara bars are fairly healthy (given their ingredients), but my assumption is that it's not great to use it as a replacement for real fruit. I eat them regularly - a couple mornings a week when I'm extra busy, I usually have one for breakfast. They're also great for keeping in my purse for those days when I need to…

I don't have advice regarding a slow metabolism, but I too am 4'11. I usually eat around 1200-1300 calories a day (sometimes much more and sometimes a bit less), but I don't consistently eat back my exercise calories. I only usually burn around 250-300 calories anyway, but at my height, I don't lose weight if I eat any…

Thanks everyone! I will try it later today and see how it goes. And just in case, I think I will stick to running on a treadmill...

Amazing!! I don't think I could exercise your willpower. I fell in love with paprika Pringles last summer while in Poland. If I ever saw them here, then I might buy the entire shelf!

I find that the longer I've been doing this (I've been logging consistently on MFP since the beginning of July), the cleaner I eat since I just feel better about myself. I still eat chocolate and ice cream, but in much more moderation than I used to. I honestly just feel better if I eat more whole and natural foods. I…

I think the ED part refers to those who post consistently post about fasting or doing "water fasts." I have one "friend" in particular who has posted a number of times about doing a 21 day water fast and there are people who cheer her on. I'm not here to support behaviour like that, but I also feel odd about deleting her...

I've had a similar experience on here. I noticed a few weeks ago that a number of "friends" had deleted me. I messaged one in particular and asked her why (she was someone to whom I felt I had been particularly supportive). She responded by saying that she does not keep friends around who have eating disorders. I didn't…

Either just get back on track tomorrow or go for a run... I ate an entire pizza for lunch, so I did another spin class this afternoon...

Remember this is not "real" weight. (Meaning, it's not fat...) I usually refrain from weighing myself during that time.
