  • nerdfitness.com has a workout for a hotel room--so thats a pretty small space--and only uses items you would find in a hotel room, such as the floor and a chair, and something to lift like a box or suitcase.
  • definitely gum! I started it because I read it keeps your eyes from tearing up while chopping onions (totally works btw!), so it just turned into habit.
  • sounds like we are on the same plan :) like dress for the job you want, not the job you have
  • Eating at 1200 only worked for me for the first 2-3 weeks...and tahts the time frame anything works. Im finding I am having better luck eating maintenance calories for my goal weight and working out 3-4 days. its slower going, but for me its helping develop the eating habits im going to need to keep once I get where I want…
  • I use Target brand (market pantry) chocolate flavored whey protein. 16 bucks for a giant tub.
  • nerdfitness.com has some good vids
  • I log every day, anyone can add me! i blog too.
  • you could have what I just had for dinner...Mexican Casserole with sour cream! All you need is tortillas, refried beans, an onion, salsa, and cheese. I had to substitute cheese bc I didnt have cheddar and I only did half a cup of onion...and it says 4 servings, but I cut it into 8 like a pie and one slice is 210! plus 40…
  • Thank you! for giving me a name for something that I've always just called 'like scoliosis, except in instead of side to side'...i can lie flat on my back and put my arms underneath without arching. You are absolutely right, This makes my gut stick out incredibly. but my butt is pretty flat so this gives me a butt, i guess…
  • im hoping maybe he meant love handles or muffintop? not that clothes were involved at the time...O.o
  • I have my cals at 1500. netting 500 is idiotic and unsafe. anyone can add me.
  • Combining cardio with strength and ab training is the only way to reduce, and you cant spot reduce. Could you possibly do reverse crunches? Your neck and upper back remain stationary on the floor, and you just bring your legs up and lift your tailbone off the ground. Also things like planking are good for ab muscles and…
  • go to nerdfitness.com there are some great (free!) videos posted there, including a workout the guy invented in his hotel room because he was travelling and tehre wasnt a gym available.
  • I agree, dont force yourself to eat it, and fish oil supplements exist. That being said, if you are absolutely convinced to eat the actual fish...make tuna noodle casserole. you will only smell the fish while you are preparing it, and it just adds a slight bit of tang to the flavor of the cheese.
  • The important thing to remember is that an eating disorder has nothing to do with how much you do or do not eat--it is a psychiatric condition. It has to do with how you perceive yourself and the lengths to which you go to control it. My sister is currently fighting this battle. For many of the people shes encountered in…
  • I wouldnt touch that stuff. You are better off just replacing any coffee or sodas with unsweetened or mildly sweetened black or green tea.
  • I dont want mine to shrink either! im kind of known for them, they are so much a part of my personality taht I want them to stay! Luckily the only comments ive had lately is that you can see my weight loss 'in my sides'...whatever that means
  • Try comparing your TDEE-20% to the TDEE for your desired weight. Obviously there are other variables but the rough formula is to take your desired weight and divide by 2.2 to convert to kg. then multiply it by anywhere between 25 and 30, which will give you the range of what is typically required for that weight. Again,…
  • i cant believe i forgot this... http://www.etsy.com/shop/teaman Guy blends his own coffees and loose leaf teas. you can buy them loose or in teabags--but they arent floor scrapings or crushed by a machine, so still very high quality. He has black, green, white, rooibos, herbal..you name it, and with all different…

  • tonight i will be doing day 3! i started on Monday, but I am doing 2 days on, one day off...after day 2 i was SO SO SO stiff and sore! my one calf is still sore today but after work i am just going to PUSH THROUGH!
  • fitday.com shows your weight loss against your projected goal loss in a line graph. I like their graphs, but as far as tracking calories and stuff its not as good a site.
  • [ I apologize if I sounded rude, but when someone pulls math that is different from the math from every other scientific resource I've ever seen used, I doubt them. Since you and a nutritionalist+dietition are sitting around on a computer on mfp, could you point me in the right direction of where I can see that math that…
  • Honestly I didnt KNOW one was worse than the other. But she rolled her eyes when i showed this to her and she pulled out the license, so from now on to please people like YOU i will type dietitian instead of nutritionist
  • She is a licensed dietitian as well. its just easier to type one rather than both. Also...quoting wikipedia to doubt the validity of another source?? Pot, meet Kettle :P
  • Open diary here, and trying to blog daily too! Anyone can add me!!!
  • Eating them back is not necessary. The 25-30 range for multiplying is so you can figure out what works for your body, and i think the same probably applies to the exercise cals. For me, I use the 25 multiplier because I have issues keeping weight down bc of hormonal b.c. I think once I get to my maintenance level I will…
  • I talked to a nutritionist today. Rather than use the TDEE/BMR and have to recalculate all the time...use this formula. it will be slower going but easier to maintain in the long run. Take your GOAL weight and convert to kg (divide by 2.2). Multply that number by 25-30...thats the amount of calories needed to maintain your…
