You're welcome to add me. I have a little under 100 to go. I've been working on it and would love to have company on the journey.
-
I'm also a starter and would love to join you. I have been doing it for a month now, but I haven't been following the program. I have actually thought about starting it so I can stay with the program instead. Let me know. I've been following it on my ipod when I've done it, there's an app too??
-
Exactly, I didn't find it necessary and finding it completely fine.

I didn't go to a specialty shop for mine. I went to the Nike Outlet and tried on numerous sneakers to see what works the best and felt the best. I didn't have any tests done or anything and have had no problems whatsoever in my choice. I don't know if its better or not, but I didn't have to go that route for me.

I did the same thing, I used the sneakers I had when I started because of issues I had when I attempted before caused too much problems to continue and if they reared their head I wanted to not "waste" the money on a good sneaker. I just recently went to the Nike Outlet and looked at all the running shoes they had. Tried a…

PS...my Burn 60 I take has the green tea extract in it with other natural items in it.
-
Exactly!! I was doing the same. 5-6 days of working out 2-3 hours a week with NO real change at all. Once I incorporated the GNC supplements and their shake into my routine it has made all the difference. I'm no doctor so I can't say it's fully because of that, but it's a heck of a coincidence!

I have lost 15 pounds in the last two months myself. I do running 4-5 times a week and strength training 2-3 times a week. With your body pump, I'm not sure if you would need the strength training like me. I also do a shake, I actually do the GNC Performance shake that is Whey and that I'm sure helps. I've read that the…

I don't eat my calories back, per say. I don't see how eating back the calories you burned is going to help you to work off the fat that you're still storing because you're replacing it. Sometimes I will slightly go over and will eat a bit of them, but it's usually because I am so hungry or it's my cheat/date night that…

Oh, and I'm very conscious about the mindless snacking thing, I actually don't do that for the most part, I actually used to set my phone to remind me to take a healthy snack, now my body just makes sure to tell me. I'm already down 30 pounds of the 100 I want to lose, so I'm getting there.
-
Thank you all for the great info. It's actually MFP that put my calories at the 1360 when I started. I try and eat better snacks/meals throughout the day. I will keep this at heart and will try and incorporate all your suggestions.

Definitely don't run everyday. I do 4 to 5 a week, and on my off days I go to the gym for some strength training or just go and do some swimming so I can ease my muscles with that and then hit the hot tub. Go at your own pace, I found that I liked the control myself of the block by block because I control it. But I have…

Because I run in the morning and I have to take my medication in the morning, which I'm not supposed to eat for an hour, I'm finding it difficult. Someone told me that even something like peanut butter, a spoon or two will give you some protein and will help make you feel less empty. I too am a new runner, I have not been…

Good idea, I will try that. I had also brought some cucumbers to work to much on, it just doesn't seem to last long. I know I should not complain at all for making the boost to my metabolism when it used to crawl before I stepped up my workouts.

Awesome work!!

I just started the Couch to 5K program, I am overweight at 260 and I try to run between 4-6 days a week depending on how I feel. I have always wanted to run but never been at a weight I thought I could. I have been doing it for three weeks now and I love it. You may be pushing your body too far, doing too much. Do what…

I use map my walk and map my run....have also used Nike, that works with the machines at the gym too!
-
The apps do use alot of your time up. I almost went over my time in less than two weeks. I have used both Map my Run and Nike. I have had good luck with both and have found them to be accurate, it may have been a fluke. I check out my routes with my car first to see and add if I need more or less and always have been right…

Thank you all for the amazing suggestions and help, I will keep you guys in mind when I need that step up. You all make me feel better about my decision to do this journey on as a beginner runner. THANK YOU!!

PS...I'm surprised because I never expected a sports bra to be comfy or anything and I actually found one that is actually comfortable and dont mind wearing....and I'm glad that I don't have to worry about losing control...lol

I plan on getting some new shoes this weekend. They ...were... the right size but I have also lost 35 pounds since I bought them so they may be big now. I have not had anymore blisters AT ALL since the first week and I also do not have sore feet or anything at all. I do get tight calves, but that is from not stretching…

I had it as well and was able to combat it without needing a doctor intervention, but I caught mine pretty quick. I medicated with ibruprofen and bought a heel supporter at Wal-greens. It was a little weird to work out in, but it worked and within 2 months it was gone and since on track now with losing it has not come…
-
That's what has happened to me too. I can tell that I have lost something because my clothes are looser and I'm feeling better. I went and did my measurements and around my waist alone I lost 3 inches...and lost only 3 pounds in the month. With my measurements I lost them throughout my body, so don't look at the scale too…

I too, like everyone else it seems, cried my eyes out. It's funny how I haven't been brave enough to run, but there he was on his very first day running. I guess my excuses just won't cut it for that!!
-
I understand how you feel and YES!! You are soo brave, but you are also a big inspiration to the rest of us that it is NEVER impossible. Awesome job and show those pictures with pride because you have come so far!!
-
PS...and becoming a Gold Member with them, you get a discount so the prices aren't as horrible as the stuff you see on Wal-Mart shelves, just better...I like being able to ask someone about the different things about everything. And the shakes and such are cheaper than most places...and better than store-brand.
-
I have been trying to find something so that I can get everything rolling. I have been going to the gym and everything but nothing would move. I started using the Total Lean shakes and working out, and I have lost 4 pounds in the last week and a half. I am also taken their supplement, Burn 60, since I have such a slow…

That is alot to pay. I go to 24 Hr Fitness and pay $30 a month to be able to go to ANY 24 Hr Fitness!! They also have a lesser priced one for $25 a month for just going to 1 location. We also have one nearby that is even less at $10 a month, but its just for their one place....yeah, there are cheaper places out there to go…
