  • No worries. You're doing this for YOU...not for other people. :)
  • I'm in the Middle East and I'm telling you I would punch a baby in the face for a good glass of merlot....an ugly baby, I'm not a total monster. ;) Seriously though...work hard and play hard. Sometimes I do eat things that aren't consistent with a good diet, but overall I do alright. I have a soda every couple of weeks for…
  • Get a conceal carry permit and defend yourself. Sometimes the world is a vicious place. Don't be a victim.
  • Maybe try limiting the foods you have access to in the house. Also, I find that if I brush my teeth and floss I'm much less likely to be tempted to snack.
  • Back when I was in high school this girl asked me if I was interested in dating her friend... Actually, it's kinda' odd, but I ran across the MFP app in Wired Magazine and they'd given it a 10 out of 10.....they don't do that very often. I was intrigued and given that I am on a secluded military base....there's not much to…
  • To each their own. That said I will be selective about who I want in my 'motivational corner'.
  • Eventually I'll pick up a polar....but as for MFP...it does know my height/weight. Wouldn't that perhaps make it more likely to be accurate?
  • I picked up a Timex for about $42 on Amazon...wrist monitor and chest strap. I've only had it about 2 weeks, but it's working out well for me. Maybe go with that and if in six months you're still going strong and think you need/want more features then upgrade and sell the old one for $20-$30. Just my .02.
  • My calorie budget is higher than most due to my size. On days I workout really hard I can have as many as 5k calories. Sometimes I think I workout out so hard because I like to eat. I knew I was having pizza yesterday so I did 2 hours of cardio....it was good pizza. :)
  • My name is Eric and I also live in Lexington. Right now I'm in Afghanistan. Pursuing my physical fitness goals is what is keeping me sane. :)
  • Bro, I've been reading a lot about how having a cheat meal once a week can keep your body from going into super conservative mode and overall is helpful. It's kinda' counter intuitive to me, but the more I read about it then it makes sense kinda'. Tomorrow I'm eating pizza, which means 90 min on the elliptical tomorrow…
  • I didn't think losing anything more than 4-6lbs a month was healthy. To each their own, though. :/
  • So a couple of months ago I saw this girl in the gym...she was using weights that were obviously way too heavy. I thought I'd be helpful...... LOL.....holy cow. What a piece of work this guy is..... Life's full of things like this...just learn to let the trivial stuff slide. :)
  • Right now my goal is to get to 300lbs. This sounds absurd, but I am larger than most people. When I graduated from Paris Island and was in peak physical condition I weighed 290lbs. I am not small. I want to focus on slimming down and tone....not so much bulk. People routinely feel compelled to comment on the size of my…
  • I live in Lexington...though I'm in Afghanistan right now. :)
  • Ok...granted I'm new to the HRM thing, but I did get a Timex and so far it's proven antiquate for my needs. I basically just need to know what my HR is while I'm working out on the elliptical machine. The strap syncs up with the elliptical so, even simpler. I guess I'm just not advanced enough to graduate to a Polar yet?
  • Right now I'm doing: Day 1 45 min elliptical and weight training.....Day 2 45 min elliptical and weight training.....Day 3 1 hour elliptical. Repeat. It's working out great for me. :)
  • I guess I just need to ask what a NSV is???
  • I tried for a long time to like sparkpeopl, but there is SSSOOOOOO MUUUUCHHH going on in their websight....the design is awful. MFP is just clean and simple and works. I don't know that I ever mentioned SP to anyone that I knew. I've told probably five or six people about MFP. It just works.
