  • It sounds like your Easter is about as exciting as mine. :grumble: I'm recovering from some oral surgery last Wednesday & feeling pretty lousy. I didn't realize how much I move my face in a day. And it hurts like a son of a gun when I do. I also didn't realize how many crunchy foods I love. The soft food business is…
  • We have a wellness plan, required by our state dept of ed, but it was in place before she arrived (almost 2 years ago) & she doesn't think it's important. We received an award for our implementation of the plan before, but now we're clearly in violation.
  • This is a great place to come & hang out. There are some very inspirational folks here who have lots of experience. Ask them anything. They know how it's done! Welcome!
  • I especially want to buy a bra in a regular size.
  • I had the experience of getting to shop in regular sizes for a few months about 12 years ago. The choices were overwhelming! I'm so accustomed to walking in & buying the biggest (whatever) on sale. But this time I have time & I'm mentally prepared. I'm ready!
  • I'm a lot older & heavier than you, but I burn about 400-500 at the gym several days a week, then use a bike at home for another 400-600 calories. Some days hubby & I walk for around 250-300 calories, so a combination of two of these daily works wonders. Until I started hanging around here, I was satisfied burning 200-250…
  • No. Water is a good thing. It helps keep your body hydrated & your organs/ digestion working efficiently. Drink plenty of real water. Are you logging your food? Weigh, measure, log. For reals. Just do it. Try increasing your exercise a little. Don't get frustrated. Use that energy in a positive way to increase your health.…
  • Excellent! :flowerforyou: Great job!

  • We've been taking Juice Plus for several years now. It's supposed to be appetite suppressing, but I'm not sure. More than that, it's supposed to be good to fight off the Big C & heart disease, etc. My doctor recommended it to supplement as I was doing Atkins back then (which didn't last too long) & the whole family has…

  • I'll be happy when I get below 200! (Notice I said, "when!") :glasses: Then we'll talk about smaller numbers! :ohwell:
  • You could try here: http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html Then try: http://www.dietfacts.com/fastfood.asp Or even see if the restaurant you went to has nutrition info on a website. If none of those ideas work, find something similar from a different restaurant & hope it's close. I have a local place I go to & they have some…

  • How about a really pretty bowl full of fruit - strawberries, other berries, banana slices, melon, etc. Serve with whipped cream or sweetened cream cheese & let everyone make their own fruit sundae.
  • Good for you! keep with it & that one will probably take a friend away soon.

  • Happy B-day! :flowerforyou: When you weren't dieting, did you get such sugary attention?! hhhmmmmmmmmm.........
  • thanks It was such a nice surprise.
  • I find it easy during the week, too. I carefully plan weekend indulgences by planning exercise & meals ahead. I even write them on my calendar. I have room for a glass of wine if I'm careful the rest of the day. (And I tell my hubby in case he's thinking about pizza) Then I know that if I'm a pound up on Monday,…
  • Report in here as often as possible. We're here for you! You can do it!
  • Yes. It's an idea low carb diets sometimes endorse. There's some controversy, though. I have found that sugar alcohols have undesirable embarrassing side effects though... :blushing:
  • I made a mistake! :noway: I meant 6 1/2 hours for the week!
  • I think that when it increases, that means you met your workout goals last time. If it decreases your goals, it might mean you just worked out yesterday so you need a light day, or maybe your last workout wasn't as rigorous. Always ask the gals who work there. They are (or should be) highly trained & able to explain.
  • I have a Tanika from a sports store & I've compared it with the gym & doctor's office. It still seems to match after 5 years. It computes body fat, too, but I think that function varies.
  • I've never been the kind of person who loses weight when I'm sick & not eating. In fact I often eat more when I'm sick. Some people can lose 4 pounds after a week of flu - but not me. Never ever. :grumble: So I had some oral surgery done this week & was unable to eat. I just didn't feel like it. That never happens to…
  • Good for you! Those who made fun were deep down probably jealous of your determination & commitment.
  • That's a really nice thought. Maybe a gift card to a school supply store if there's one locally. If he has any sporty hobby, maybe a giftcard to a big-box sport store. If you feel like spending more, a giftcard for dinner for him & his wife would be appreciated.
  • It's probably the flavorings.
