  • Number one pet peeve these days: FACEBOOK! (I can't wait for this fad to die too)
  • I sympathize with you. I have horrific pains on my hips. legs, and ovaries during my period. My Dr had to prescribe narcotic pain pills to be used once or twice a month. Rx Ibuprofen helps a little but not for long. I cant really exercise when I hurt that bad. Not even Ablation surgery helped me. Hang in there kiddo :)
  • SAD combined with working night shifts (which is my case) is a pain in the *kitten*! Vitamin D3 is what has helped me the most
  • I rewarded myself for my first 10 lbs lost with shoes. I bought two pairs of American Eagle shoes that are just adorable. Once I get to be 135 lbs I will buy me a dress :) I haven't worn a dress in soooo long!
  • My rheumatologist put me on 5000 IUs of vitamin D daily. Whether it makes a difference on my weight or not I do not know but it does make me feel less tired. I have fibromyalgia and my rheumatologist says that according to research people with FM are vitamin D deficient and have a hard time keeping it at optimal levels…
  • My best guess (based on a similar thing that happened to me last week) is that your body (liver) reacted badly to the sudden intake of fat because you have been eating healthier, low fat foods. I ate a piece of chocolate cheesecake last week at work (going away party for a co-worker) and less than one hour later I felt…
  • Read labels of EVERYTHING before you buy it :) It will become a good habit :) Clean out your pantry and refrigerator from foods that are against you :) get rid of high calorie, low nutrition foods :) Cook all your meals yourself. It's a pain in the butt sometimes, but very worth it at the end. Adapt recipes and replace…
  • I have bad leg cramps after my long, fast walks. Sometimes even thee top muscles of my foot hurt. About 5 weeks ago I have severe charlie horses on my shin (which is very weird). I started drinking more water or gatorade. I also take a 800 mg of Ibuprofen (mine is prescription, but I imagine the 200 mg from over the…
  • To the original poster: You sound like a kind husband and you really don't want to hurt your wife. Hats off to you! No matter how kind you are or how good your intentions may be, the probability that she will be hurt if you bring up the issue is very likely to happen. We women are that way :) But...you can adress the issue…
  • Personally I don't trust artificial sweeteners. And I can't tolerate their flavor either. I use packets of Raw sugar in my coffee. Once in a awhile I'll use Nectresse in my tea. Nectress is "supposedly" a natural sweetener from Monk fruit (I had never even heard of such thing). It's aftertaste is not as bad as some other…
  • Here is one for the girls (non-kitchen related): Oily complexion? every foundation you use looks greasy and shiny after a few hours of wear? Apply a thin layer of old fashioned Milk Of Magnesia all over the face, making sure it is well blended before applying your foundation. It works like a charm! Dry, chapped hands and…
  • This one may sound very odd but it works! If you touch fish, either to cook or eat, and you are left with a fishy smell on your hands: Wash your hands with soap, and then rub your hands on something made of stainless steel (like a sink, or a stainless steel pan). And voila, the fishy smell is gone :) Don't believe it? well…
  • I'm 5 ft :) I was 169 lbs at the beggining of 2010. Then gained back a few lbs by May of 2012. I've lost 7 lbs since I started to take MFP seriously :)
  • I use red wine vinegar and olive oil for salad dressing too :) Some of my tricks: No white bread, potatoes, or pasta. For some reason my tummy issues have gotten a lot better since I removed those things from my diet. Rarely no artificial sweetener. I hate their after taste. Instead I use Raw Turbinado sugar. One packet…
  • Crisis? No. That's too strong of a word to generalize American manhood. Manhood (or womanhood) is not about dominance of the opposite gender at all. To me a Manly man is a gentleman, the kind that still opens doors for me. He is firm but not a tyrant. He is self confident but not arrogant. He has good hygiene, but doesn't…
  • I've been using Secret Outlast in the creme formula. I love the stuff. It lasts throughout my long work shift , and even during my workouts. I don't get BO ever with that stuff! Avon Cool COnfidence roll-on is my next favorite. It's cheap and it lasts forever. It is sticky, so I use a hair dryer to dry it faster. Best kept…
  • I love your post :) A lot of people don't realize how much soda (regular or diet) can affect your health. I used to drink Diet Coke a lot during the week even thou I love plain ice water. I would drink (on average) 800 ml of Diet Coke at least 4 days a week. My stomach problems symptoms (I have severe GERD, IBS, and a big…
  • omg what an amazing girl you are!!!!!!!! I LOVE to see posts like yours :) sooooo incredibly inspiring!!! thank you so much for sharing with us!
  • haha! good story! I got my first "hatin" comment from a co-worker last week. The lady saw me eating my steamed vegetables and said " How much do you want to loose TO BE HAPPY?" :grumble: I said "I AM happy already. I'm eating better to control my health" Then she said "Pretty soon you are going to start looking like…
  • I set my Pandora to my "Crystal Method" station - it then plays songs all of the same genre. I like the electornic fast beat music for my hard walks :) I will be writing down you alls suggestions thou! I HAVE to have music while I walk :)
  • feel free to add me :) You can do this! There are lots of amazing stories here on MFP that inspire beyond belief. Hang on to those folks for inspiration and support :) You can do this!
  • Yes it is possible... if you adopt a diet of barely enough calories to help you get out of bed. Or if you fast on liquids only for 2 weeks... but that would be so bad for you :( You will be better off loosing lbs slowly and exercising whenever you can. You will see inches go away before the scale moves. A lot of us women…
  • Just like you I felt hungry during my first week of counting my calorie intake. This happened because I didn't know how to eat smart yet. Now I am rarely hungry :) I eat better than ever and the weight is coming off beautifully :) If you are craving a lot of sweets look for those 100 calorie snacks. Even Aldi has them.…
  • Yogurt, lots of yogurt (me loves yogurt!). Orange Juice, almond milk, soy milk, real eggs and egg substitute stuff, lots of veggies. I'm discovering that I need to buy veggies a little slower because some of my stuff is going bad before I can eat it. I'm still adjusting to buying groceries just for me. No cheese. I love…
  • I am barely 5'1'' nearly a midget haha! I was 169 lbs at the end of 2009. By Fall of 2010 I went down to 142 lbs. Then gained weight after the tornado on 5/22/11. I was 154 lbs in June 2012. Last time I got on a scale I was 152. I don't know how much I weight now because I banned the scale for awhile, but I know I am much…
  • Bump buump buuuump! I had 4 children, one of them C-section. Even at my skinniest (112 lbs) I had the low abdominal flab. The surgeon than did my C-section sewed me up with staples and PINCHED my left side very bad. Not only that he also cut me nearly from hip to hip. Not even my mom who had a C-section 33 years ago had a…
  • I am an apple shape, got skinny legs, large waist, and a somewhat large chest. Today I wore a pair of shorts I bought 2 months ago and went for my walk when I noticed myself pulling my shorts UP because they were falling off my waist :) YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS And... I had to retire my size M srub pants for work because I was…
  • My diary is open as well. Feel free to add me. I will not post opinions on how you eat or exercise on anyone's page unless I'm asked to do so :) Good luck to us all!
  • Time for nothing. I didn't eat there and won't there now. Too expensive for my taste, my home cooked chicken sandwiches are a heck of a lot better. Fast food, regardless of whatever they stand up or down for, is not on my menu
