I'm also home for holidays, I just started to go running during the days I am here
-
Cool thanks! I started yesterday, it went great

Are you on medication for anxiety/depression? I also suffered from anxiety/depression, I started taking medication for it and eventually started to feel myself. I think until that was sorted, all worries would stop me from exercising or even counting calories. I think it takes time to find right dosage/drug for you. As for…

The website link for calendar seems to go to an error page. But I get the idea from your days with numbers, I think I'll give it a try over the holidays!

What is the meal plan? I've just been doing the exercises and then logging calories on my fitness pal.

I did it last week, I did an insanity exercise about 10pm at night. I had one beer but I haven't drank in a while, so felt a tipsy. I think for me the real difficulty was that the beer was heavy on my stomach and all the jumping wasn't great, so I felt really nauseous and definitely wasn't working out to my full potential.…

Shouldn't you just run more frequently and try to go faster each time? You said that you haven't ran for a long time, probably a start would to be get back into a running schedule. I always thought distance or time comes before speed - as it gets easier for you to run, you'll go faster. I think 8:58 is a pretty good start…

I'm also interested.. I don't have knee problems, but I have absolutely no upper body strength - I find it very difficult to do push-ups or plank exercises, as the difficulty is in holding myself up. Does any one have any tips/simple exercises for gaining a bit of arm/upper body strength at home?
-
Thanks, I am not following the guide - I'm sticking with the MFP recommended 1240, but end up eating around 1500 after the exercise. I am eating what I normally eat (I've cut down out sweets and sodas, eating a lot of vegetables) - I imagine I need to weigh food a lot more than I do. I tend to weigh breakfast and lunch,…

How long did it take until everyone saw some change in their body (inches loss or weight loss)? I'm trying to stick to it (on day 13 now), but have yet to see inches gone and the scale has gone up not down. I'm always knackered and sweating a lot after the exercises - although no longer feeling muscle pain the next day…

Ahh ok, so I should try to stick it out! Yes, it's really difficult to begin with, but now I've been doing it for 12 days, the next day pain after each work out has gone

Yeah, if it's jumping I think I will just take up running, so I don't completely lose my endurance. I heard month 2 is very difficult, and that you should make sure to stay at same fitness endurance/level.. But I guess a week off won't hurt!
-
Thanks I will have a look at that website! :)

I think it also depends on calorie deficit for weight loss, but sometimes it's nice to have a challenge. I was never a runner and then I got into C25K and now I can run for 30 minutes and my endurance is much better, and I'm faster than some of the other people at the park. So it depends, I enjoy it just because I feel a…

Well they work differently for different people, so you never know... My doctor did tell me that most things you hear about birth control are horror stories, as people rarely go out of their way to talk about how amazing or just normal something is.

I think the whole cleansing things don't work if you're going to feel like the diet is very hard effort. When I first start losing weight, I ate what I usually ate, but I just measured and logged it, to make sure I was within calories. I still lost the weight and I wasn't giving up foods that I really like. Sure, in the…

Just wanted to say... I have managed to lose 1.2 lbs since I posted this. I know that's not much, but I've started weighing all my food consistently (when I am at home and have the scales), pushing myself to go running every other day, and drinking more water. Hopefully this is the start of more weight loss, so I can…

Thanks, yes I am beginning to think it's my cravings which are causing the increase, as I was buying a lot of crap that I usually crave before periods (salty foods). I'm now measuring all my food, even the snacks, and exercising, so I'm going to see how a few more months go.
-
Thanks for the all the tips guys, I'm going to start weighing my food more and give it a 6 month trial and hopefully it will settle down. I noticed this week my Period has been shorter... So maybe it's just my body adjusting. I think I should be able to lose still if I am consistent and work hard, but the initial shock of…

Thanks, I am in a deficit I think, but maybe could be exercising more. I had 26 lbs before lost. So I am logging the weight I've gained. I had my calories at 1260 before when I lost 26 lbs, now it's at 1480 because I don't have so much time to exercise and I am more hungry than usual. So I thought losing 0.5lb a week was a…

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to try to incorporate more exercise into my week and see how it goes, even if I lose maybe 0.1 lb or something, that would be at least a change

Anyone? It's 'Implanon' or 'nexplanon' I think for Americans on MFP
-
Research, publications and listed side effects? Ok....
-
Well, you obviously don't know anything about epilepsy medication... Look at the reports and look at the side effects. Weight fluctuation is a known side effect of the drugs. And "medicine.. it's my job" is just a silly argument, perhaps you are specialised in a certain field or are a GP, either way... You are not trained…
-
I wouldn't say that's true... A lot of drugs used in the treatment for epilepsy cause fluctuations in weight, either weight gain or weight loss is listed rather than "loss of appetite or increase". And a lot of people report gaining weight on anti-depressants or on the contraceptive pill, so it's not something to casually…

I take citalopram. i started with 10mg then went up to 20mg. It was also the time I started dieting on MFP and exercising. I actually lost 30 lbs in a year and maintain that, and I was taking 20mg once a day. I decided to come off it in March last year because I ran out while I was living abroad. I put on some weight then…

I'm not American, but I do grill my cheese toasties... Mmmm

Sorry, what I meant to say was it's not "normal" anxiety as in "Oh I can just do some yoga for 2 minutes, now I feel great!", that everyone might naturally feel before a nervous situation, I meant it sounds like something medically serious. I also take anti-depressants to treat severe social anxiety, so I totally agree…
-
Talk to your doctor really, it sounds kind of dangerous and it's affecting your mood/health and you're having panic attacks, that doesn't sound like normal anxiety. They can treat that. Maybe they can give you something for anxiety or suggest some therapy, etc. or get you in touch with a support group or leaflets/website…

Wow.. Really not looking forward to this.
