  • I log after I eat, but I do tend to make the same dinners weekly (and eat leftovers for lunch) so I know it all will fit into my daily/weekly calorie goal.
  • I'm a single mom to 3 kids so I understand it is hard to focus on a workout with children around. What works for me is to walk with my kids (they walk or bike or scooter). Sometimes I jog with them. We have a park nearby we walk to, then a few times around the loop of the park and back home. You could do this with a…
  • I'd say any fresh fruit or veggies I want. I don't look at those prices and I get what I'm craving.
  • Freshly picked blackberries. Went berry picking this past weekend and have been enjoying these huge, sweet blackberries since Friday. yum
  • Nope, essential business worker here so been in the office (never closed). I do take a nightly walk as my kids aren't busy with sports or activities like they usually are.
  • My kid's summer nanny had COVID (21 years old). She thinks she got it from a friend she saw, who wasn't feeling quite right and got tested and it came back positive therefore my kids nanny got tested and it came back positive as well. My kids nanny didn't have a fever or show symptoms beyond what she thought were seasonal…
  • I have 3 kids in elementary school and our school district (Kansas) is making a decision by the end of next week. My thoughts, if any district moves to virtual learning then the government needs to put another act in place to cover those parents to work from home or take off with some sort of pay. Right now, the FFCRA only…
  • Wow thanks for sharing. My kids nanny checked in with me today and feels 99% herself. She’s staying away a bit longer, but will return next week.
  • Have at least 1 rest day a week. Also sounds like a lot of exercise on a daily basis. Maybe switch out another day and just have an active rest day (do your walking then).
  • I've been lurking on here and found it fascinating to read how other states or countries are handling the pandemic. I know a lot of individuals who have tested positive are 65+ or with underlying conditions, but I just found our my kid's summer nanny (21 year old healthy college student) tested positive. Thank goodness my…
  • Brings me back to childhood as well as reminds me of summer - sno-cones/shaved ice. I have a machine and syrup and my daughter and I enjoy one almost nightly.
  • Weekly I made this. I eat it with rice and a veggie, in a wrap with lettuce, sauce of some sort, cheese, or on a salad. https://yellowblissroad.com/the-best-stovetop-chicken-breast/ Best rice. I reduce the butter on this one. https://food.com/recipe/garlic-butter-rice-240456?soc=socialsharingpinterest Having some good…
  • Best advise is to keep up the exercise yourself and let them see how happy it makes you feel. Maybe they will then decide for themselves to try it. But it is their life, their choice.
  • I use rice as a side to my dinner often and typically make 1/4 cup uncooked rice for a serving. Once cooked it makes about 3/4 cup.
  • I went to the "Groups" section and the group was near the top and I joined. This will be my last post here I suppose. @PotatoHead_ Once I lose a bit of weight I know the jogging will get easier. My dog is a good slow walker, but she is small and running is just too much for her. Plus she likes to stop and sniff everything!…
  • Sunday weigh-ins are good for me. I'd prefer a group format as it offers some privacy. :) @PotatoHead_ I use to run 10ks a couple years ago, but with the added stress, emotions and weight gain I've been out of it for a bit. I'm going slow and steady and consistency mixed with losing weight will help me. Another 1.5 mile…
  • I make stove-top chicken once or twice and week and eat it as leftovers (it's even good cold) throughout the week either with a veggie side or a part of a salad or wrap. It's the most tender and juicy chicken. I switch up the seasoning (usually just store bought mixes). https://pinterest.com/pin/500955158553748999/
  • On YouTube, I enjoy the Body Project workouts (no equipment and you can choose beginner, advanced, low impact, etc.) as well as the old and trusty Leslie Sansone walking videos (if it's too hot or rainy outside I do this).
  • @PotatoHead_ I'm in the US - so it's morning for me now. Yesterday I got my middle kid outside with me and we went on a walk/jog. He rode his scooter to the park nearby then he ran around with me 3 times (1 mile). He is 8 and likes to run, stop and wait for me to get within 1 foot of him then run again, rinse and…
  • I'd like to join - making a group page would be great so if that happens I'm in. I'm at a similar weight at you @PotatoHead_ I was 45lbs lighter and feeling great two years ago when a medical scare happened and life turned upside down and looking back I was eating my feelings and feeling sorry for myself. I've done…
  • @Noreenmarie1234 - I really enjoy Boston Market so thank you for posting.
  • First advice, slow and steady. Look for low impact exercises. Walking is always good if you have been cleared by your doctor. I had ankle surgery years ago and starting slow and listening to my body was the best advise I got.
  • I make seasoned chicken breasts once a week and it's a staple in many of my meals. I use different store bought seasonings to change it up (using Kick'n Chicken seasoning right now). Follow the steps and you'll have the most tender chicken. https://diethood.com/stove-top-chicken-breasts/ I use the above on salads, in…
  • PS I've read a couple of your posts and they have made me laugh - good to see people with a sense of humor in here :)
  • Maybe change up the spice/marinade you use on your chicken you make. You can also try and roast other vegetables - sweet potato with olive oil and salt is tasty, or asparagus, or corn on the cob? Since you like eggs, how about a breakfast casserole? Most "overnight breakfast casseroles" are customizable - I just cooked one…
  • Nectarines...they were perfectly ripe at the store recently and I've had two a day for a few days now. Yum
  • My two favorites - both free on YouTube are Leslie Samsome (walk at home - many options based on time/distance) and Body Project (no equipment needed mix of cardio/strength, just make sure you choose the starter or beginner ones).
  • My favorite is EVOL ginger soy udon noodles. They are pricier than others, but very tasty. Also enjoy Lean Cuisine linguini with cheese meatballs. I often add my own chicken/protein to it to both of these.
  • The only thing I can add is, keeping myself busy helps me from snacking (or binging in your case). I make a hot cup of apple cider (70 calories) and read a good book. Or clean out/organize a closet while listening to music. Take a long shower or bath. Paint my nails. I try and walk/get in a good exercise session daily as…
  • oh man, that cereal is amazing to me! MY favorite is peanut butter Chex. It's my evening treat. But I only eat it dry - no milk.
