  • You actively decided not to log while you were on vacay, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. And kudos to you for making good choices while on vacay, I bet that was tough. What I am confused about is the fact that you want the number streak "fixed". Why? Is it an emotional attachment to that number? Would it even…
  • I am totally feeling you on this, I didn't think I was so "out of touch". I am listening to these songs now to see if I'd like to add them to my playlist :) I don't know how old you are but please feel free to make suggestions for songs that YOU like, my taste of music covers all eras :drinker:
  • Thanks all for the kind words. To answer some questions and clear up potential confusion, what ninerbuff posted is absolutely correct, if you are trying to lose a substantial amount of weight, you won’t be packing on pounds and pounds of muscle. The calorie deficit that you are on for the weight loss doesn’t allow for…
  • Congrats, that's awesome - and made me laugh. ^ And this made me laugh even harder!
  • It's definitely possible. Here is a before picture, I am 5'4", 236lbs in this picture. This is after about a 90lb loss and lifting. I still have another 15-20lbs to go and am hoping to lower my body fat percentage and tighten my stomach a bit but I am super happy with my muscle definition in my arms, back, and legs so far.
  • What an amazing accomplishment! Congrats on living a healthier and happier lifetsyle, I love the happy smiles in your after pictures.
  • Lawdy, I suck at this so badly….. Fresh baked goods, chocolate, sweet treats, ice cream- sigh! Something happens in my brain when the yumminess hits my tongue where I just can't stop sometimes. I can even hear myself argue in my head but can't force myself to stop. It's like my arm isn't listening and I'll eat until it…
  • Thanks for sharing :flowerforyou: , will download the ones I don't have already.
  • Unless you have kidney problems or a medical condition that affects how your body processes protein, you've got nothing to worry about. You have a solid workout plan that includes 3 days of lifting, the protein will help with your muscle gains and 140-160 is perfectly fine.
  • You've been a wonderful MFP buddy and to see you post these progress posts every months is just awesome. You are determined and strong and motivated. I KNOW you will be succesful on this journey, even if the scale has temporarly decided not to cooperate. My favorite part is the fact that your beautiful personality is…
  • Dayum, you look absolutely amazing! Congrats on such a wonderful transformation and putting in the hard work, it clearly is paying off.
  • 22 pounds is no joke! And how amazing does it feel to have gotten past that number on the scale? Now set your sights on your next small goal so you stay focused on this journey :)
  • Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone. Although I did some "light" lifting at the gym, it's so negligible that I do not consider it having any impact on what you see in the first comparison picture. That picture was taken November 2013. The two pictures below that are results of heavy lifting that I started at the end of…
  • True, I should be more specific. Lifting light for me meant being able to do 3 sets of 15 reps with only moderate effort, not to exhaustion. Back then I thought I was "toning" and didn't want to get super huge arms - hahaha! jason_adams is right, upping the weights and going until failure is how I train now, for me this…
  • Honestly, besides cardio and a calorie deficit there wasn't much I did. Some "light" weights at the gym 3 times a week but that's only because I was a weight lifting noob and didn't know that lifting light wasn't that effective. I go for heavier free weights now with low reps.
  • It's possible! Here is a picture without weight lifting: Here some progress since I started lifting (about 4 months in): I am 5'4", 32 years old, start weight 236, current weight 145.
  • That's fantastic! Not only is the amount of weight you lost impressive but your 10K time is phenomenal! Congrats, you're officially a MFP ROCKSTAR!
  • Yes, I sure have. But let me be honest, besides weight loss, the elliptical machine doesn't really have any other health benefits. I did the elliptical machine in the beginning of my weight loss journey when I felt uncomfortable with anything else in the gym but have since changed up my routine to weight lifting and…
  • Fantastic job, congrats on this major achievement! You look phenomenal!
  • I would thank them for the invite and then just say "No thanks, I brought my own lunch today". I'd be really careful not to annoy them with too much of the "I am eating healthy now", "I made some lifestyle changes" talk....The less annoyed they are about it, the faster they will stop rolling their eyes and just accept the…
  • OMG, might have to steal this one... I would advise to start with a walk and work your way up to an easy run. And yes, definitely make sure you have proper foorwear for your next race, that'll certainly help. I also encourage weight lifting to get a stronger core, back and legs. Having some strong muscles in these areas…
  • 479 Popcorn - Chipotle Caramel + Pumpkin Seed. 110 calories per cup, yummm! Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Pearls. 8 pearls have 25 calories and you can take your time to let them melt in your mouth.
  • I also started my running with the C25K app, could hardly do the 30 seconds when I started. The 9 week program took me 12 weeks, I repeated the days I couldn't do until I was able to. Best advice I can give is to get fitted for proper running shoes to avoid shin splints and to get a heart rate monitor to ensure you are not…
  • A few more to get everyone motivated for the day :)
  • Yes, you most definitely can send me a FR! Be happy to support anyone on this journey!
  • I am 5'4" and 32 years old. Progress pic on the right is from December 2013, I have lost a few more pounds since then….
  • I think you are looking great and you can definitely see a huge improvement in the legs. Way to go!
  • ^ This right here. I end up with 130-150 grams of protein a day. Keeps me full, helps build muscle. Win/Win!

  • I recently moved to a new state, new job, new people. They all didn't know me before and it's funny to me to hear them say that I look skinny, toned, fit.... Sometimes I just snicker and say thank you and walk away happy :)
  • You said your TDEE is about 2110. Looking at the TDEE calculator that means you work out 7 days a week, consistenly. If this is indeed correct, you should definitely try to get 1 gram of protein in for each pound of body weight. www.iifym.com would recommend the following macros: 123 grams protein, 296 grams carbs, 49…
