  • I agree with quite a few of these. One thing that annoys me is that if you use a locker, close the damn door when you leave, don't just leave it wide open. Could be my OCD, could be the whole "were you born in a barn", but it's mostly common courtesy.
  • Trying to lift in a calorie deficit is difficult. That's why I switched to 9Rounds. It's a kickboxing fitness that really puts you through the wringer. You're doing body weight exercises mostly, some with weights & a bunch of cardio that is fun, no treadmills ever.
  • I don't go to the gym much except to stretch or to work out Saturday night or Sundays. I joined 9Round & I couldn't be happier. It's a kickboxing themed workout & it's the hardest I've ever worked & I'm addicted. There are 9 Rounds (hence the name) & the only constant is round 1 - the jump rope. You spend 3 minutes at each…
  • If you have a 9Round near where you live, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It's a kickboxing fitness gym. The first workout is always free & even if you don't join, it'll give you an idea of a variety of exercises, from jump rope to shadow boxing to burpees & so many more. I was only going to join for a month, but…
  • Every different exercise should be logged separately. I don't think MFP has a good logging ability for lifting. I use Jefit.com to log my lifting
  • I drink diet pop, I make sure I drink plenty of water in between pop. I like the clear american flavored water & mixing crystal light lemon tea into my water, because I can't drink all my water plain.
  • I just started doing 9Rounds. It's a kickboxing workout where you have 9 rounds (hence the name) & each one is 3 minutes long with an active rest in between. It's a killer workout, but it's fun & you get to punch & kick things
  • Only when it comes to shoes do I pay more. My shorts & tank tops come from walmart (one I got from my shoulder surgeon). They've lasted me years.
  • My problem is I wake up & go lift, but after lifting, it feels like I can't eat enough to satisfy my hunger. I'll eat eggs oatmeal & a protein shake, but some days I'll eat half my daily calories before 9 AM.
  • People need to look at the big picture. I eat better, work out hard & sometimes the scale doesn't show the whole picture. Sure I may be the same weight as last month, but my arms, chest & legs are getting bigger, my stomach is getting smaller, I can fit into clothes that I wasn't able to before & my lifting numbers are…
  • Up at 4:40 to get to the gym by 5:30. Sometimes (like this morning), I'll be lazy & sleep in, but I'm going to leave work early so I can get to the gym anyway.
  • Arrow, the Flash, Hawaii 5-0, Blindspot, Scorpion & my favorite new show of the season, Lethal Weapon. It has the same vibe as the movies, unlike the horrid Rush Hour series. I also like the show Timeless on NBC. It's a fun time travel show. I agree with the poster who suggested Alias & 24.
  • You deserve better. As I've discovered recently, some people don't take vows as seriously as others. You have to do what's best for you, because IMHO, your husband sounds like a selfish prick. Nothing's worse than feeling that no matter what you do or how hard you try, that your spouse isn't there for you or would rather…
  • Losing inches is more important than losing weight. Fat takes up more space than muscle, so if you're getting stronger & losing inches, don't worry about what the scale says. Too many things can affect your weight.
  • I love my ab carver pro. That'll give you a workout that you'll feel.
  • I was never a runner, and after I lost 45 pounds, I ran a 10K. Some of my runner friends said that you'll get hooked & want to run an even longer race. They were wrong. If I have to pack a lunch to get me through a race, I'm out. I live by the words of Dirty Harry, "A man's got to know his limitations." & that was mine,…
  • All my workouts consist of supersets. Mondays are back & chest, Wednesdays are arms & Fridays are legs & shoulders. Just pick two exercises you like to do & pair them up. One brutal one I do is DB incline fly, then immediately into DB incline press & then pull ups. Not a traditional superset, but it does a number on the…
  • I drink Diet Dr. Pepper, Pepsi Max & diet Dew. Usually 3-4 a day, but I also drink at least a gallon of water a day as well.
  • I eat after, but that's because I get up & go to the gym first thing in the morning.
  • I like Muscletech premium whey protein isolate, chocolate flavor. I mix it with 1% milk & it's by far, one of the best tasting protein drinks I've tried. When I'm on the got I use premier protein pre-mixed chocolate.
  • It depends. You have to listen to your body. Sometimes a day off is good. Sometimes I'll wake up & already be exhausted or sore, so I'll skip the gym in the morning. Trying to push through something like that might end up getting you injured or sick, but generally I feel worse when I skip the gym because of the wasted…
  • Legs & shoulders. Bulgarian split squats are the devil's creation.
  • Legs & shoulders. If I can make it through the bulgarian split squats, I'm golden.
  • This reminds me of something my dad used to say. The more times you run over a dead cat, the flatter it gets. That line still makes me laugh.
  • Life is short, don't wait. What if you wait 7 months & lose the weight, but he's not available? If he rejects you because of your weight, he's not worthy.
  • The ab carver. You want to work your abs, this is the way to go. Once it starts to get easy, start at a standing position instead of on your knees.
  • My favorite Ab exercise is the ab wheel. I have an ab carver & it's awesome. To make it even tougher, try it standing up instead of on your knees. With it you can start out slow & not go all the way out, then increase the distance you go out as you get stronger & you can go to each side as well.
  • Because other people won't let me cough into their hands.
  • Can't stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • We do have frappes here in the US. Don't look back, just look forward. Saturday I ate a whole tray (*" in diameter) of a seafood dip (cream cheese, cocktail sauce, shrimp, crab meat & cheese) by myself. Stress eating while watching the Huskers & the Cubs. Gained over 2 pounds. Got back at it yesterday & lost over 3 pounds.…
