I simply feel that I am satisfied and full on the 2300. Hey, if I cut it by 100 calories a day, for 30 days, that is almost another pound a month I could lose. It varies though, sometimes it's right around the full amount but sometimes I am under by 1-200 calories

Drinking alot of water too, with splash of lemon juice.
-
Why is that? Do you think MFP's calorie limit is too high,or too low,and why?

I started this thread yesterday, on day 3 of my diet. Today is day 4, and I have felt a noticed drop in my hunger. Before my diet, I was always hungry, and always craving. I would wake up ready to eat, but today,I wasn't hungry at all. I had to force myself to eat a 200 calorie breakfast because I know it is not good to…

My cheat day has always been Sundays (before my diet, everyday was a cheat day actually). Sundays would start with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and toast for breakfast. Lunch, I would hop on the couch and turn on the football package, and watch all day long, with pizza, or a cheesesteak, fries, etc. Dinner was usually reasonable.…

My favorite carbs are Garlic cheese bread with extra cheese, and those damn Grands' muffins....I also like putting western omelettes with cheese on toast, and making it into a sandwhich. I Won't be eating them very often anymore, but when I do, I will savor them, enjoy them, and then get back to my diet

Like the others said, you definitely look alot younger, great job

I will survive, by Gloria Gaynor, makes me think of that movie 'In and out' with Kevin Cline :)

Broccoli Cauliflower Spinach Apples Strawberries Bananas Blueberries Chicken Almonds Tuna Fish String Cheese Whole Wheat pasta Cottage Cheese Lean Pockets, man they are good, and lets you feel like you are cheating, without the super high calories (still, watch the sodium)

Powerade has ZERo,as in calories,sugar?

I also read that drinking really cold water is the best becuase, your body has to warm it to body temp, which boosts metabolism/temp,etc and cause you to lose weight in the process. Is this really true?
-
I have read that, and for years now,I have been a 4-6 hour a night sleeper. For the last 3 nights, I have gotten 7-8 hours of sleep, and my new rule is to make that an every night pattern

You are averaging 9 pounds a month, that's great, and exactly what I hope to average. Are you doing it just with dieting,or are you exercising too?
-
Buying a new digital scale this week, and hope to weigh in once a week, probably on Monday mornings when I wake up
-
Cup of coffee, 1 banana, and 1 cottage cheese with fruit in it. The banana & cottage cheese is 200 calories,I dont count the coffee
-
I admit,I am not a water fan. I force myself to drink it now,at least 64 ounces a day,but it doesnt really do anything for my hunger
-
Really good suggestions everybody, thanks

When I was eating bad,and gaining weight,I was waking up to a craving, growling stomach, and stopping everyday for porkroll& cheese sandwhiches,Sausage & egg,etc with hash brown.....I really think I would lose weight if I just cut that out. Thats 1000 calories right out of the gate.

I am following MFP strategy of losing 2 pounds a week, and to do this,I need to take in 2430 calories a day,and I always try to take in around 2300. Not exercising yet until next weekend, that's when my gym membership starts. Thanks for all the replies & advice

I can see from the posts here that we have alot of girl scout cookie fans :) I actually never thought of just telling the girlscouts that I could make a donation instead of taking the cookies, good idea
-
Its a shame, its a good cause, and I want my Daughter to be in the girl scouts when she is old enough, but sorry, not at the expemse of my health, I cant eat the cookies. Maybe next year, I will buy a box in celebration of losing 100 pounds

Great, nothing like the numbers changing for the better especially that first number

Don't keep anything that you can binge on in the house. Throw it all out, and only keep healthy stuff in reach. Make it so that in order to eat bad stuff, you either have to go out of the house to get it, or order delivery, and you will be less likely to fall off the wagon

It's a fine lone between being supportive and being a drag to somebody that is on a diet.

DAR, first & foremost, congrats, a great job you have done. My story is pretty similar to yours. When I was a kid and teenager, I was thin. When I was 18-24,I was solid, exercised, and worked out. I am 6ft tall with a large frame, and was around 200-215 during that time, very comfortable weight for me (where I hope to get…

Yeah with all the workouts you do, you need more calories

I eat a similar sort of foods. Cottage cheese & a banana for breakfast, a smart ones/lean cuisine/weight watchers meal for lunch, baled chips or fruit for a snack during afternoon, and a sensible dinner, sometimes a subway hoagie (one of the healthy choice ones). I know that the provessed, forzen meals like Smart Ones,…
