  • I am afraid that one 'treat day' will lead to another...I want to try and not have any treat days, at least until I start shedding some serious weight. Maybe give myself a 'treat day' everytime I lost 20 lbs or something.
  • A little wild, and certainly limber
  • I am in the losing stage, just started. I am allowed 2640 calories a day in order for me to lose 2 lbs per week. You can fit alot into 2600 calories. I usually have a 300-400 calorie breakfast, a 600-800 calorie lunch, a 300 calorie snack, and about a 900-1100 calorie dinner, which keeps me right at or just under my goal. I…
  • Not really fond of yogurt myself, would rather have cottage cheese, but I had my 1st Choboni today, the Almond coco loco, it was quite tasty, and I enjoyed it. I think it could have less sugar, but I am willing to try another one, I will try the key lime pie one tomorrow. Trying to keep my breakfasts around 350 calories, so…
  • JACKSON, thanks for this advice
  • Rick, I am going thru a similar situation. My goal is to lost 120-130 pounds. I started my weight loss healthy lifestyle about 85 days ago. For the first 70 or so,I was shredding pounds steadily, and had very little hunger. I lost 32 pounds. The last two weeks, I have lost a total of 2,and actually appear to have gained…
  • I agree, thanks. Maybe mix in egg whites, etc for protein. Maybe help with the muscle building. I probably thought that my steady weight loss would simply continue doing what I did for the first 30 pounds lost
  • Great Job! What have you been doing besides diet? What types of exercise, and how often?
  • Don't know about everybody else here, but it will be nice when people start ssaying to me "boy you have lost some weight" instead of "boy you really got fat", which is what happens to me often
  • I have lost only 17 pounds, but when I started,I was on the 2nd belt notch from the end, getting ready to go to the last one. Now,I am on the 4th notch, and it feels like I could soon go to the 5th notch. I do not see a huge difference in myself, but the notches on the belt are proving the weight loss is happening. Keep at it,…
  • I work with a 37 year oldguy that is 6ft tall, 165 lbs,and eats nonstop,8 hours a day. Hoagies, chicken, snacks, sodas, energy drinks, etc He does not gain an ounce. His metabolism is a rare one, most of us would eat the same stuff and keep gaining. Most of us cant get away with that
  • 500 calories of Spinac,Brocolli,Lean chicken is really not the same as 500 calories of Candy Bars, soda, ice cream Sure, the units of energy are the same, but the content and what they do to your body is different. Sugar loaded foods turn to fat,and play havoc on your insulin levels
  • I saved 360 calories aside yesterday to eat one of these brownie batter donuts after people raved about them, but when I got to Dukin Donuts, they were sold out  ( Rather than cave in and get another donut,I got nothing, freeing up 360 calories yesterday). Today,I am also eating light and leaving 360 calories free for…
  • Her first step is to ask them to stop, and then STILL REPORT IT to HR. Tell HR that you asked them to stop, just so there is a record of it
  • Wow,I didn't think this happened to women. I know guys say it to other overweight guys, but women saying it at work to other women surprises me. I get jokes too here and there, but I have made it known that I do not care for the comments in my workplace, and that I will make an issue out of it with management if I hear more.…
  • Thanks all,I would not mind losing 3-4 pounds a week until I reach 299. After that, 2 pounds a week does sound reasonable
  • I can do that, but 9 times out of 10, I am just doing the 'quick add' calories to my meal diary. Typical day's meal- Breakfast- 1 90 calorie english muffin with low fat butter, and 1 breakstones cottage cheese with fruit....total of 240 calories Lunch- 1 lean cuisine meal and a small bag of lays baked chips...total of…
  • I rarely eat at night now,but last night for some reason,I was starving and didnt want to go to bed hungry. I ate a 90 calorie english muffin, with some low calorie/fat butter. Tasty, and hit the spot with minimal calories.
  • The first day I started my diet, I was starving all day it seemed. The second day, I was hungry off and on. By the third day,I was hungry only when it was time to eat. By day 4, my appetite had shrunk. I wasnt hungry and had to force myself to eat meals when it was time. I havent had any real cravings. The important thing…
  • I weigh myself every Sunday morning as soon as I get out of bed. Same time of the same day every week, will show true progress and a real idea of whats going on. I dont think you should weigh yourself later in the day because your weight can fluctuate. The important thing is that the number on the scale keeps going down.…
  • Wow, great job. You lost in 6 months, the same amount I want to lose (125 lbs). I would love to lose it in 6 months like you did, but I realize I am about 75 pounds less than you were when you started,so maybe 10-12 months is more realistic.
  • Forgot to add,I also drink alot of water thru the day too
  • I am 6ft tall, and 346 lbs.(lost 6 lbs this past week). According to MFP's calorie counter tool,I need to take in 2440 calories a day to lose 2 pounds per week. For the first few days, I was hungry and thought I would be craving food, etc, but my appetite has now shut down, and I eat not because I am really hungry, but…
  • Everybody has their own take on artificial sweeteners. Personally,I like aspartame (the blue packs)as opposed to the others like Splenda (or the yellow packs, pink packs, etc). I remember when I switched from sugar sweetened drinks to diet drinks. The change was hard, but worth it. Now,if i drink soda or tea with sugar in it,…
  • Great job, keep up the good work
  • Thanks for the responses everybody, some really helpful info
  • Be careful, 1200 calories is pretty low,and should be a bare minimum assuming your weight is pretty low. If you cut 500 calories out of that, then your body might really think its starving. Maybe eat that midnight snack earlier in the day,but maybe for you,it doesnt matter, sounds like you are alreay at a pretty low weight.…
  • Can't speak for anybody but myself, but I feel as if I am a recovering drug addict, and food is the drug. I have to stay away from anything that is like a 'snack', 'treat'. I have to be ALL-IN, abd steer clear of any treats or snacks. My reward every day is knowing that I am under my calorie count, and when i weigh in, seeing…
  • Can I do that? My goal everyday is to stay at 2430 or less. That's what I have been able to do so far,and I dont have any cravings or hunger issues
  • Thanks, but no treats for me, that's what got me to where I am now. The good thing is,I am not craving anything snack wise,or treat wise.
