Congrats! I plateaued for 19 weeks eating 1200-1300 cal day and 60 min elliptical and weights 5 days a week. I met with a nutritionist and upped my calories to 1500 and now 1800 and am finally losing weight again. After the increase, I'm finally losing again, 2 pounds last week to bring my total to 10 pounds. Honestly,…

I second this, it sounds coy ter-intuitive but I think you're eating too little. I've been in the same situation for a few months and when I increased calories from 1300 to 1800 I started losing again. It was scary to increase but it was the right decision for me. Theresa

Exactly- once the I tired or maxalt start working, the pain is better but I'm left so exhausted its difficult to exercise.I can't think of anything low impact that I would suggest except maybe walking Theresa

Hello all, I don't think I introduced myself. I'm a married 45 y.o. Mom of 3; ages 15, 11, 9. I work full time in a sedentary job as a finance mgr for a university. I was always underweight until I started having kids at 30. Then all the weight never came off after each kid. I got serious in December and joined the Y and…

Thanks for this. I'm been working my @$$ off for the last few months and the scale wouldn't budge at all. My clothes were getting looser though. When I finally had my follow up I found I had not lost one single ounce in the last 2.5 months but I'd lost 10% body fat. I asked an RN how this could be true if I was eating at a…

I recommend this as well. I started the kettle bell workout in the book and lost 10% body fat inn10 weeks. Theresa

I agree, especially for the swings. I was told to get something that I could manage but grow into and i chose a 25 pound for swings. I do 2 sessions of 25 reps. Theresa

Love, love love my kettle bells! I have a 25 pounder that I use for kettle bell swings 3 times a week and it helped me lose 10% body fat in 10 weeks. It is the best thing I've ever found to really tone the butt. I've lost inches off my posterior and wish the rest if me would catch up, lol

Agreed! My weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds because of water weight. I di weigh myself everyday but don't get worried about the extra because I know my weight will go right back down in a day or so. Theresa

Yes-what she said! I met with a nutritionist today and I got the same advice. I'm increasing from 1400 to 1800. (I was at 1200)

I'm having a similar problem. Since December Ive lost 8 pounds. I count calories and I work out hard and often. I met with a nutritionist today through a program at the university where I work and it was pretty enlightening. My initial calorie goal was 1200 and then I bumped it up to 1400 about a month or so ago. She said…

I live them in my yogurt and I add them to smoothies.

Just joined last night. I'm a 45 y.o. Married gal with 3 kids, and a super skinny husband. During the last 2 mi ths my scale hasnt moved but I lost 10% body fat. I do high intensity interval training on the elliptical, kettle bells and light weight trying Theresa

Don't forget to measure yourself. I e leaned to ignore the scale and focus on how my clothes fit and if I'm losing inches. I've lat 10% body fat and no pounds. If I only watched the scale I'd be ready to quit right now. Slow and steady wins the race Theresa

Roflmao-I remember those early days

I know I definitely need to make things easy or it's way too easy to grab things that aren't good for me. I k ow I might be borng but I find rhat repetition helps me a lot. For examole, i always have cottage cheese and a fiber one bar fr breakfast, yogurt with chia seeds for morning and afternoon snack. I usually have…

I also suggest taking measurements and don't watch the scale so much. My weight has stayed the same for the last 10 weeks bt I've lost 10% body Fat and lost 8 inches overall. I'm down a size too and I definitely look different. However, if I just looked at the scale I'd be pretty depressed

Just found the so I'm in too! 3/15 did 30 min elliptical and 20 min walk 3/16 30 min walk at lunch with my Zombies! Run! App I'll go back to my log and post previous days tomorrow
-
I meant 30-60 min of elliptical at least 3-5 days a week (interval training)
-
I do 30-60 min of interval elliptical and I've lost 10% body fat in 10 weeks. I've mainly gained muscle in thighs and my butt looks great, lol. I also do 50 kettlebell swings with a 25 pound kb at least 3 times a week and general toning with hand weights

This discussion is interesting since I've kind of done this on my own and while I'm happy with how awesome my butt looks now, I really need to focus on other areas I've lost 10% body fat over the last 10 weeks (over 6 inches overall and about a dress size) without losing a single pound. I do 30-60 min of interval…

Thanks so much. I think the results just kind of confused me a bit. I guess part of my confusion is I've never really tracked body fat before unless you count monitoring how my clothes fit I'm really a results type person so seeing the scale move or seeing actual measurements shrink on my measuring tape really motivates…

My butt! Wish it were my tummy but I'll take what I can get

I find the caffeine helps get me going so I never drink decaf unless it's before bed or im sick., I switched to Yerba mate unsmoked green tea which is naturally caffeinated. I find it still gets me moving without the jittery caffeine feeling I got from other teas. It's supposed to increase the metabolism. Im not sure if it…

Oh yeah, I try not to drink my calories because they really add up. I make pot of tea with a little honey for the am. Drink ice water or unsweetened tea the rest of the day. Honestly, every once in awhile I do want a soda and hate diet sodas. Hubby bought the cute little 12 oz dr peppers and I'll have one every couple days…

I went through the same thing so what I do now is try to eat the same things for breakfast and lunch which makes things soooo much easier especially during the workweek. I always have cottage cheese for breakfast and fruit then yogurt with chia seeds for mid-morning snack and string cheese, almonds etc for afternoon snack.…

Yes-I saw it on dr oz and couldn't believe I never thought of it! We love to do this because we can control what is put on it so no more prepackaged microwave popcorn and we don't have to drag out the hot air popper. One tip though, if you use the preprogrammed popcorn button on the microwave button we've found that it is…

My biggest diet buster s eating at night and it is soo difficult to overcome. I decided I would try to beat it by eating something very filling but low cal. I microwave 1/3 of a cup of popcorn in a brown bag then add some seasonings. It helps me fill up and reduce the cravings. Also lots of fiber :0)

I agree. It seems likes every other day he is recommending new supplements to lose weight. I dont watch much anymore because it feels llike a very long infomercial these days
