I am an all or nothing person there is no way I could restrict myself to just a little of this or that. I really wish I could and I hope that I change in the future. I have to focus on the weight loss and getting fit process at the moment, when I get somewhere near my goal I will look at how on earth I will manage to…

Has anybody tried to fluff Syntha-6?

Yesterday I ordered a sample size portion of protein powder to make protein fluff. I really hope it tastes as good as it is hyped. From the looks of the photos it is a whipped pudding that has tons of protein and only a few calories. You can get all different flavored protein, I hope it works and I like it because I like…

For those who are in the relationship it depends on the specifics and boundaries within the relationship, I do not think there can be a hard and fast one size fits all rule. With that being said hitting on (gentle flirting) with someone in a relationship cannot always be bad. It is down to the person in the relationship to…

If you are eating back your calories there are two areas for error. Logging the calories in and logging the calories out. If you do not already do so make sure you measure everything that you use for a week, try not to put in generic items for whole meals (unless they are ready meals and already measured). For the exercise…

At least there is no sign of a detour to the cake shop, but looks like a good wobbly walk.

A lifestyle change has to start by getting it right in your head

(Calories out - calories in) / 3500 = weight loss. If you are on a tight calorie control diet plus exercise the odd day of higher calorie intake should not stop your weight loss, but it will slow it down. Really depends on the person, if the odd splurge keeps you on track it is probably better for you but if the odd…

Just done the maths for me at the moment my BMR is around 2,500 so 6*BMR + 1* double BMR in = 20,000 cal/week in BMR*1.2 + exercise (about 5,000) = 26,000 cal/week out so should lose about 2lb per week on this. A nice steady rate and if my mindset was correct for this pattern it sounds a good way plus I would be improving…

Also make sure the scales are in the same place each time. Certainly on the same type of floor. Yesterday I weighed myself 3 times, then turned the scale round by 90 degrees (so parallel to the flooring rather than perpendicular) and weighed myself 3 times again. The difference between the two scale locations was over 2lb

Sounds like games to me. I know it was a year on line before hand but once it got into real life he was going hot to get you interested then go cold to get you to chase him. Another summary with little knowledge of the exact situation but it does seem like he is trying to set you up to be dependent on him so he can be in…

until you get to a very low body fat do not worry about starvation mode. Listen to your body if you feel tired and low energy try to eat a bit more, the suggestions here are fine for higher energy but still healthy foods. Make sure you are getting the right nutrition from your food, which by the sounds of it you are. The…

Heart rate monitor. I used to be a Hockey goalkeeper and the effort I had to put in varied so much match to match depending on the skill difference between the teams.

Since I have been married I no longer do anything like that. Before hand I looked for any sign of life.

Be prepared for a torrent of eat more posts. Those calories in are low, general medical advice (in the UK) is that a sub 1000 calorie diet should only be sustained for a maximum of 12 weeks, under close medical supervision and only suitable for those with a BMI over 30. Also the NHS do not support sub 1000 calorie diets.…

Too many times to count. The difference I intend to do this time, once I get down to my target weight, carry on for 4lb or so. Then keep on weighing myself every week, as and when I get to 4lb above my target weight go back to my weight loss diet. Also if I gain a lb or two in a week but not get 4lb above my target weight…

When I pulled a muscle in my back (probably no where near as bad as the pain you have) I was very frustrated. Remember that resting and repairing is doing you good, I know that it is hard to stick to a diet when you are not active but keep it up you are doing well. Also when you can exercise again start gently and whatever…

Low carb can work, I have never seen someone stick to it whilst logging calories but I have seen people stick to the diet, eat loads of cheese and pork scratchings and lose weight. When I have tried the Atkins and Dukan in the past the problem I have found is sticking to it. I have lost a lot of weight to start with but…

Now for the simple version To lose weight eat fewer calories than you are burning. As painful as it might be you will be just creating problems if you try and force someone to lose weight. As I am sure you are aware from your post you have had to put a lot of effort it making sure things are right for you both in what you eat and what you do. He must be aware of what you are doing and how it is changing…

You have found some scales that work for you. OK they do cost a little bit every time you use them, but you can track your weight every fortnight for little cost. There are some lower calorie ready meals that do not cost too much, if you have one of those with a couple of big portions of frozen veg it makes a good meal. If…

Missed a word out. That diet type does have fat in it. That being a diet of well balanced mix of fruit/veg, lean protein and low (note not no) fat dairy.

Fats are needed, but that diet does have fat in it as nearly all diets do. It is fine to have a low fat diet with 15% of your calories coming from fat. That is just over 20g for 1400 calories. These will come easily from a well balanced mix of veg, lean protein and low (note not no) fat dairy.
