This time I started by looking at what has failed for me in the past. From that I worked out what might work this time for me. The biggest difference this time is my head, I want to get healthy more than I want the pleasure the food gave me in the past.

Just add that weight to yours and look up the calorie burn for that amount. Different muscles will hurt more than others because a small weight has a bigger effect on smaller muscle groups.

Swimming is a lot better for me than either. But then others prefer running some like the bike. If there was a one size fits all solution then the gym would be a lot smaller place.

After so many years of being unhealthy there is no food that I want more than being healthy.

When you cook rice it soaks up water so 75g of dry rice will make about 225g (guess) of cooked rice because it has soaked up water. Without looking it up the 89 cals for 75g sounds like it is a cooked weight.

From what I have seen spike days are based on dividing your total weekly calories by 8 and having that on 6 days per week and 2 portions of your calories on the 7th day. Its a different way to control your food intake. I would be worried about my control if I embarked on a diet with this pattern as the weekly spike may…

The knowledge that I will feel good about myself for saying no is enough to motivate me to not have a binge

Burn more calories than you are consuming and you will get rid of fat, unfortunately you cannot decide where it goes from without surgery. What you can do is to choose where you can build muscle (tone up). If you look at athletes whose sport focuses on one or two muscle areas, they tend to have bigger arms/legs or whatever…

The most important thing is to make sure you get enough nutrition. Getting the right amount of protein, fat, fiber etc in your diet along with all the vitamins and minerals. I do not think there is a one size fits all solution. For those who are morbidly obese there is no way they need to be eating up at around the 3000…

to get hummus lower calorie try making home made hummus but swapping the oil for low fat cottage cheese.

Protein fluff is a whipped up fluffy light desert made Casein protein powder. There is a fair few posts about it on here. I like the odd sweet thing, when I used to have a small pot of the low calorie chocolate mousse it tasted nice but did nothing for hunger levels and I felt a bit guilty that I had 100 empty calories. I…

Why does everybody go for BMI when looking at the light side of things. I suggest you work out or get your body fat %age calculated and judge it on that.

Apart from 3 weeks (twice I had a cold and last week my knee played up after I slipped on rocks whilst fishing) I have been burning typically 5,000-7,000 calories per week. Things started slowly only being able to do 7 minutes on the elliptical or swim 100m before I needed to stop, but I stuck at it. I have built up and…

I got bored of that one in 2 weeks and lasted 3.

I bought a big tub of weider chocolate-cream and had some problems with it to start with but I think I have got it sorted, not quite as fluffy as my USN with fruit but this is lower calorie. 3 egg whites whipped to a stiff peak, whilst still whisking add in this order. 30g weider chocolate-cream powder 100ml Almond or…

Great work, thanks for posting all the %fat amounts, helps a lot understanding

I would count it as similar to waterpolo Calories Burned The number of calories you burn playing water polo depends on how much you weigh and how long you participate. NutriStrategy's online calorie-use chart indicates that you burn 590 calories per hour if you weigh 130 pounds. You burn 704 calories an hour if you weigh…

Loads of veg, the ones that are less than 40 calories per 100g When having eggs more whites than yolks Porridge for most breakfasts Lots of variety in dinners, although I enjoy cooking I have had a fair few ready meals but stuck to the low fat & sugar high fiber and protein ones. I know they may not be as healthy as home…
