Take fish oil for joint pain. I take 900 mg because I often get pain in my knees. Since I started taking the fish oil, I haven't had any problems. Choindroitn, MSM, and glucosamine (sp?) also work great.

I just got my HRM, so I'm hoping that will help kick my workouts in gear. I already noticed that MFP can be generous in the calorie department. Now I know for sure. I am going to switch up my food a bit. I tend to eat the same things (breakfast and lunch) because I have a rushed morning and knowing the calories I'm eating…

Congrats! You look stunning! Keep up the good work.

This is one of my biggest pregnancey fears--having a stomach that won't go back to normal afterward. I'm in the process of losing weight now so that I will have a healthy gain when I do get pregnant (my husband and I are going to start trying next year). But I'm afraid I'll love my new body so much that I won't want to be…

I just ordered my Polar FT4 (w/ the chest strap) on Wednesday. I'm expecting it today. I've never used a HRM, but I need to kick my workouts in gear. I haven't lost in two weeks! Anyway, here's the link for some Polar products. It's also where I ordered mine from.…

You're off to a great start. Remember, it's a journey every day. Never forget to celebrate the small victories!

Hey all! Check in time. :-) I lost 1.6 lbs since 10/1! Well on my way :-) How is everyone else doing?
-
I'm a little confused. Wouldn't you add the calories for total calories burned? I'm interested in what others have to say, too. I'm thinking about getting a heart rate monitor.
-
Count me in, too! I haven't been able to lose anything in the last week. My IG is to lose 28 lbs by Dec. 4. I've got 17 lbs to go :-(
-
If you type in "cleaning" under cardio, it will give you options to choose from, and based on the information you gave them it will tell you what you've burned :-)

I've started taking Zumab again. The first time I did it, I got bored with it. Now I'm doing it once a week on Thursdays. It's a nice break from just working out alone in my living room, you know. It's lots of fun this time around (different instructor). I feel like I'm out dancing :-)

This site is great. I have 40 lbs that have "crept up" on me over the past two years. I just started at the end of July and am seeing great results! Good luck to you!

Yeah, there's no doubt about it: You have to exercise. No excuses. You can't expect to see change just by cutting calories alone. Trust me; I went that route once. I went almost an entire year eating nothing but Special K ceral, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was single and living with two roommates who were dating. It was…

I know how hard it is to be around people who are eating and encouraging you to eat. Just don't give in! You should have sent the left-overs with someone else though. It's like you're tempting yourself. It's one thing when others try to; it's sabatoge when you do it yourself. Get rid of it! Just hang in there. Stay away…

I had the same complaint my first week on MFP. Acutally, I think I gained 2 lbs that week. I was working out every day, too. The week after, I lost 2 lbs. It does happen! You just have to give it some time. Your body is just adjusting to what you're doing. I will say, though, that beer won't help your cause no matter how…

I'm with you. I set my IGW at 28 lbs lost. So far I'm just at 9, but it's getting there. Ultimately I'd like to lost a total of 40 lbs. Some days I feel like it will never happen. I need all the motivation I can get.

Click on the person's picture or name. It takes you to their profile. There's a link that says "add as a friend" or something along those lines.

Every step counts. I definitely count how long it takes me to get back and forth from my car each day. The total can range between 10-14 minutes, depending on where I can find a spot. That's an extra 40 or so calories I burn! Making up your mind to make the changes is the first step. Well done! Now all you need is to keep…

I don't have any advice. I just wanted to say that I'm going through the same thing, and it's driving me crazy. Sure, I'm loving the weight loss, but I absolutely hate feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, whether they're too tight or too baggy. I'm glad you posted this! I'll be reading all other's advice :-)

I bought mine from GNC for around $15. It tells me how many steps, miles, kilometers, and calories burned. :-)

Welcome! This site makes eating healthy portions super easy. I've been counting calories for a month now and have already seen some great results. And I feel great which is the most important part. I'm sure you'll see the results you want this time. Just stick to it!

I'm really slacking on L3. I just completed D3. I can't believe this month is practically gone. One more day. Although I didn't complete the shred in the 30 days, I'm still proud of myself for sticking to this. I'm going to continue to shred after tomorrow as well as switch it up with another at-home workout. I'm so…

I took two days off. TWO DAYS!! And I didn't even mean to. School started and it's been tough adjusting to my new routine, so I've only completed L3 D2 today. But it felt great! Today my mother-in-law commented that I look thinner. She didn't even know I had been working out. I'd also like to point out that all 6 pounds…

I allow myself those indulgences nearly daily. I love chocolate, and I'm pretty certain I need it to survive ;-) However, what I did was start to keep the 100 calories snack packs in my home. That way I know I'll be able to fit it into my calorie plan and still get a small piece of something I enjoy. I am, however,…

L3 D1 and it was INTENSE!! I had to take several breaks, but I loved the workout! L2 kicked my butt every day and did not get easier. I just think each level is "different." Two days ago my friend came over because he wanted to try the shred with me. I did L1 with him, and it was a breeze...it made L3 that much more of a…

I feel my waist shrinking a bit. The sides of my body are smoother, and some of my pants are getting too big. My husband put his arms around me while I was doing the dishes the other day and he said, "you even feel skinny." LoL

I agree about the portion control. It seems to be the only thing that is working for me. I eat every 3-4 hours and measure/weigh all the food I cook at home for my husband and me. On days when I eat two meals alone, I usually eat a Lean Cuisine meal since the measuring is already done, and I've been working out daily! We…

What was this person's starting weight? I know that if someone goes from an extremely unhealthy lifestyle to drastic changes over night the weight can drop pretty quickly. If you've ever seen The Biggest Loser, that is what those contestants bank on. The closer you get to your goal weight, the harder it is to drop.

The only time I really have a problem is at large family functions. For the most part, people who I interact with every day are very supportive.

Hey there! I'm 25 and I have about 20 lbs to lose. I read your profile and can relate to that "picture moment." I'm getting it together now, and I'm committed to doing it right every step of the way. Right now I'm doing the 30 Day Shred challenge with some other people on this site. After I'm done with that (about 11 more…
