  • Drinking more water and eating more healthy fats helps curb some of my carb cravings. But the best thing for has been setting rules, so that your brain knows that sweets aren’t off limits, but maybe just certain kinds. For instance, I have a friend who has the “no C’s” rule: no cake, candy, or cookies. Or one rule I like…
  • I've had several Halo Top flavors and been disappointed in all of them. They have a very chemical aftertaste. I'd rather eat ice cream less often but indulge in the real thing. Plus, the mix-ins hardly exist. The mint chocolate chip pint I bought had about five minuscule chocolate chips.
  • Awesome!! Congratulations. You look amazing, and no doubt feel amazing too.
  • Up to 20 miles, but my knee is not letting me run today--- hopefully back at it tomorrow. 1/1: 3 miles 1/2: cross-train 1/3: 4 miles 1/4: rest 1/5: 3 miles 1/6: 2.5 miles 1/7: cross-train 1/8: 2.5 miles 1/9: cross-train 1/10: 5 miles To-date: 20 miles Goal: 40 [img][/img]
  • I have two 22 oz. water bottles that I drink from throughout the day, and refill when empty. Also, there is an app for smartphones that will remind you throughout the day to drink, if you are having trouble remembering. Try Hydrate Daily.
  • Logged three more miles this morning, and realized that I wasn't counting all my miles since I only looked at what my tomtom registered, and I forgot to turn it on one day! 1/1: 3 miles 1/2: cross-train 1/3: 4 miles 1/4: rest 1/5: 3 miles [img][/img]
  • Really excited about this challenge. I started running consistently about a month ago, and love it! My goal for January is 40 miles. [img][/img]
  • I used to run first thing in the morning, but with five kids and some very early start times, I was having to get up too early. Now I find that if I eat a light breakfast around 6-6:30, I am ready to run after my last child gets on the bus at 8:15.
  • Fitness Blender! They have a website too, where you can input intensity, body part, time, etc... to get more specific workouts.
  • I ordered about 10 pairs of shoes from Zappos to try on, since I don't think I am up to professional-level fittings yet (I only run about 12 miles a week.) The most comfortable for me ended up being Asics Gel Zaraca 2, and they have been great for running as well. A bonus is that they were one of the less expensive pairs I…
  • I alternate two Jillian Michaels DVDs, and yes, they are tough. I cannot keep up at 100% for the whole time I am doing the videos. That said, I just started working out a week and a half ago, after a year hiatus, and I am already getting stronger and have more endurance than when I first started. I think it is a matter of…
  • Great job! You are right--- hard work pays off. There is no non-work miracle out there.
  • I have had the best luck when I give up refined sugars. This means you will really have to check out labels, but it really helped my weight loss, and yes, my skin too. Plus, I just had more energy. Since I only gave up refined sugars, I didn't feel like I was missing out on things. I could still have pure maple syrup and…
  • Congratulations! That was a lot of hard work. You are amazing!
  • Wow! That is amazing. Congratulations!
  • Wow! You have made lots of progress. Great job!
  • In the past I have alternated Jillian Michaels' "Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism" with her "No More Trouble Zones". That made for cardio every other day and strength on the opposing days. Since having my 5th baby though, I hadn't done much (he is almost 18 months), so I just started a C25K program MWF with my 10 year old son,…
