  • Hello!!! Welcome aboard. I hope you find this site helpful. I can totally relate to being in the dressing room in tears ( a few times !!!!) and being an emotional eater. It can be a difficult cycle to break. The main emotion that made me eat was stress which is a hard one to get away from. However, counting the calories…
  • 23 pounds so far!!!
  • Hmm...that's a tricky one. Men can be stubborn! Maybe you can just lead by example. Start your diet and keeping track on the site. When he notices your weight loss show him how you have been doing it. Maybe it will inspire him to start as well. Good Luck!
  • Hello Jenny, Welcome to the site. You have taken a great step in ensuring your success by being here. Keeping count of your calories and exercise can really help you stay on track. I wish you and your family great success! Let us know how it goes!
  • I'm all about the accountability so here it goes... I'm not sure the exact date I started but the weight was 166 pounds mid October Currently I'm at 143 HOWEVER that weight loss in a short amount of time was kick started by a very stressful event which I don't recommend as a weight loss method :noway: Anyway, my goal…
  • I tried this today and loved it!!!! Thanks for the tip!
  • Hello fellow Virginian! I think your post brings up a good point....the power of positive thinking. Although we are all at various stages of losing weight, maintaining, exercising, counting calories, etc. the one thing that can help EVERYONE is positive thinking. Welcome aboard!
  • Good for you!!! You reached your Christmas goal and early too!!!! Way to go!
  • My absolute favorite cereal is Kashi Go Lean Crunch. It's a granola type cereal but has extra nutrients and is high in fiber, low in sugar and high in protein. I love a crunchy cereal and this one satisfies that. I do make sure that I measure out how much I have because it is a bit higher in calories than some others but…
  • Exactly! Oh well at least I know I'm not alone. Defianetly taking the advice of NOT weighing during this time and making sure my water intake is up.
  • You are always positive no matter what! Thanks!
  • Thanks mnbarnum! Glad this isn't just me. That's a good idea to stay away from the scale during this time too. This time it did throw me off track a bit and I don't want that to happen again!!!
  • Yeah! I found the weekly weigh in posts... Starting weight 166 Current weight 144 Goal weight 115 Held steady this week Wasn't a great week....
  • Okay here's my two cents... The random scale readings drive me NUTS too! I went out and bought a good scale (as far as I can tell) and to make extra sure that it was on target I will periodically weigh one of my hand weights to make sure it's calibrated properly. Sometimes my five or ten pound weight will only register as…
  • Hello ladies, I hesitated to ask this question but thought what the heck! Here it is... on average how much weight gain do you experience before/during your period? I have been frustrated because on average it seems like I go up about three pounds during this time and wondered if that was normal. It goes down afterwards…
  • I'm new so I'm curious how you know what your sugar target is? Is this on your food count because I only have calories, fat, carbs and protein on mine. I'm still learning my way around the site so thanks for the help!
  • I checked out this website and signed up for the 20 minute shape up club and the 20 minute supper club.... It looks like a great site. Thanks for the tip!
  • Why don't you go ahead and get a new outfit which may give you an extra boost and decide that once it doesn't fit you'll donate it to the Goodwill or some other charity like a domestic violence shelther so someone else can enjoy it. That way, everyone wins :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks! I will check it out!
  • I've tried Tae Bo and it is a very good workout! Plus, you feel like a rockstar if you actually make it through the whole thing. Very challenging!
  • Right now I am working on the Slim in 6 series. I like it but they say to see the best results you have to do it six days a week for six weeks. So if I don't get to it that many days in a week I feel like I'm having to start the six weeks over! Overall it seems like a pretty good series though.
  • I actually bought the FIRM series complete with the step but have yet to try it. I have heard it will kick your butt though!!!!
  • I agree about the Carmen Elecktra workouts!! I actually have one of her DVD's and they are fun!
  • Thanks for the suggestions. This should make my trip to pick up my DVD's a little easier. Now, I just have to do them!!!
  • I think we have all been there!!! And hey you lost 5 lbs over Thanksgiving of all times so that is amazing!!!! What works for me is that I have really started planning out my meals. So I know in one day all of the healthy things I'm trying to fit in (so many servings of veggies, etc.) When I want a not so great food I put…
  • Hello Everyone!!! I was curious about your opinion on what workout DVD's are the best? Anyone have any favorites or ones they have seen great results with?? I want to purchase a few so that I have some variety this winter. However, the selection is overwhelming and they all promise THE most amazing results but we know how…
  • Hey there!!! I also have issues with eating breakfast because I feel sick if I eat too early. At the very least I try and have a glass of milk or all natural orange juice. It does seem to help to at least have something in my stomach in the mornings even if it is a liquid. Good luck!
  • Yes you are absolutely right, it doesn't stop at losing it, it just changes to maintenance which is where I tripped up last time. Can't wait for that stage now though!!!!
  • I work in a hospital and let me tell you these people LOVE to eat. Although you would think that medical folks would understand the problem with all the junk food, it is in abundance everywhere you turn. I agree that bringing healthy snacks does help to curb temptations. I also know that for me 2 bites of a breadsticks…
  • I've really enjoyed reading the messages on this site and wanted to introduce myself since you all seem so darn nice! I would have to say that most of my life I was lucky and had no weight issues at all. I was athletic and had a regular fitness routine. That is.....until a few years ago. I sustained an injury that kept me…
