  • you really need to eat breakfast. If you skip breakfast, it takes forever to get your metabolism started. Even if its just a piece of fruit or a small bowl of cereal; get that first bit of food into your stomach. The other thing is, and i know this is probably hard because of your work schedule, don't eat right before you…
  • I love rice cakes with some honey on top!!!!! Also fruits and veggies make for great snacks (ants on a log is still a great treat! celery, peanut butter, and dried cranberries! YUM)

  • Perhaps you are not getting enough b12 and/or iron. Maybe try some supplements to aid in nutrition?
  • Try their grilled chicken and baby spinach salad, especially with vinegar. It's amazing (plus the avocado tastes great on salad!)
  • I usually live off of $25 a week (broke college student), here's what I get: eggs tuna or salmon pouches for lunch fruits and veggies (potatoes are great) and nuts and dried fruits frozen chicken almond milk rice (in bulk, it's cheaper and it never goes bad) beans and if I still have any left over deli meat like sliced…
  • I like this response better than mine. :D
  • You don't want to be too much under. If you're too much under, your body will go into starvation mode and then you can't lose a pound until your body starts to eat itself like crazy (which is anorexia and very unhealthy). The way MFP calculates your calories is what you burn by just being you then reduces it a bit so your…
  • no, definitely not. Everyone has already given such great suggestions, it doesn't seem to be as bad as I thought it was originally. It was a shock at first because I kept going through all the things I can't eat. But everyone's come up with a lot of foods I can eat and when I went shopping yesterday at walmart I found…
  • No window sills either. =( However I do appreciate all the suggestions, I've been searching to see what I can grow inside and there are some things, mostly herbs. But I'll keep looking.
  • Yea I went to my health food store, that's when I discovered it's too expensive to have all these allergies, but I found at least a gluten-free cereal that I like.
  • no i wish, we're in an apartment. The hardest part is my boyfriend doesnt have the allergies so he's eating all that delicious stuff I cant have. (He offered not to, but I didnt think that was fair) Know any veggies that can be grown easily inside?
  • 1270 is just what MFP has me at, so I go with it. I'm already petite and trying to lose the last 10lbs of body fat; my body is at it's set weight so trying to convince it to go down is harder. I would just be happy where I'm at but my doc said my body fat is still too high. I hadnt thought about dried beans, thats a great…
  • I put on dancing music and dance around my room with a hairbrush =D
  • Yea, I do cardio every other day. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't burning a whole bunch of calories on the days I do strength and not eating them back
  • That's not a bad idea, but I tend not to allow myself a cheat day.
  • Ah ok, i looked up strength training under cardio, but you have to know how many calories you burned and I don't. Useless... I like the idea of just thinking of them as extra weight loss. I just don't want to not eat back those calories and put my body into starvation mode (I'm already down at 1270 cal/day)
  • I mean I put in bicep curls (and triceps, back, chest, etc) in the exercise on this site and it didn't effect my calories. I was just wondering if the site doesn't count that as burning calories or if I'm missing something.
  • I was told that as a snack, popcorn is ok. Basically, its better to snack on fruits/veggies. But if the other option is chips or sugary snacks, then popcorn is definitely better.
  • Eggs, Cheese, Fish (probably most meats). Hope that helps!!!
  • I am going through the exact same thing. I am 128lbs (was 130 a week ago) and would like to be 120lb. (Also, Im 5'2" and curvy as well) I talked to a nutritionist to find out what I could (because I already eat healthy and exercise). He told me that everyone has a body weight thats natural for them. And once your body gets…
  • Its sooo hard to notice a change in our bodies because we see ourselves everyday so we dont notice minor changes. Definitely stick with it, losing 1-2lbs a week wont make obvious changes on your body until a few months have gone by. But you can see if there is a difference by buying a pair of jeans that are a size smaller…
  • Unfortunately all of the weight loss pills out (at least over the counter) are complete BS. However, if you are eating healthy and exercising but not losing weight, then you may have a health issue in which case your doctor may be able to prescribe something.
  • Try a sublingual B-12 vitamin supplement. They increase overall energy, and its a natural supplement so no bad side effects.
  • It does seem counter-intuitive, but its true. If you are not eating enough then your body will refuse to give up any pounds. The reason is because your body knows how much nutrients it needs and if its not getting all that, then its going to go into starvation mode where it holds on to every pound. Don't focus on the…
  • They actually didn't, but he stopped eating so much and about a month later the problems went away. But I know correlation doesnt equal causation...
  • My boyfriend was into body building and was doing the same thing. He's about 160lbs as well and his trainer told him to eat more than his weight in protein in a day. He ended up really messing up his body; he got very sick and had to get a minor surgery (endoscopy) so they could figure out what was wrong. FInally, I…
  • Not cooking should actually make it easier to have less calories because you won't use any oils or butter. To get enough protein- eggs, soy, lentils. Basically just get a whole ton of fruits and veggies and avoid too much carbs and sugars. Snack foods that are good are dried fruit or nuts.
  • I say just listen to your body. If you feel hungry, then eat. If you don't, then don't eat. This site is an approximation based on averages. It's not individualized to you. It's a guideline and it's psychological because if you have to write down everything you are eating, you are less likely over eat. Keep that in mind.
  • Be careful that your calories are not too low. With that much salad, you may not be getting enough food. I know that seems backwards , but if your body feels you aren't getting enough, it will refuse to give up any pounds. Also, try to switch up your foods day to day. Sometimes that can help get a reaction from your body.
