  • Hooray for you! Isn't it the best feeling ever?
  • Never played Yourself!Fitness, but the trainer here *is* Maya.
  • When i Ran my first 5K last year, my goal was to run the whole way, no matter how slowly I went. My friend, who was with me, just wanted to finish. We both reached our goals. Okay, so sometimes I was ridiculously slow and she walked a good part of the way, but it didn't matter, because we finished! Lots of people walk part…
  • Welcome! That's a huge goal. I'm not saying it's impossible, but maybe starting with a 5K would be a better place to start. After a 5K, a 10K. Then a half-marathon. Work your way up!
  • Thanks for posting that cookbook! Looks like some interesting menus! BTW, I totally love My Fitness Coach. I have only done it once so far, but I can't wait to do it again!
  • I think getting enough water is super-important. I drink at least 1.5 gallons a day and I definitely notice a difference when I don't get all my water in. I'm not saying anyone else has to drink that much, but be sure to at least get your 8 glasses in!
  • I don't have a suggestion, but I do have a question... So, I *just* used MFC this morning for the first time - and loved it! I did a 30-minute cardio workout. My HRM said I burned 275 calories. However, the game screen estimated 175 burned. Have others noticed this difference in the estimate and what they actually burn?

  • Well, it's been an adjustment, but I have been eating all my calories (or within 50-75 of them) the past few days since I read this. My official weigh-in day is Thursdays, so we'll see what happens next week. Today is tough, though. I ran a 5K this morning, then walked back a mile and ran the last mile again with my…
  • CONGRATULATIONS! I just finished my 4th this morning. I was *way* slower than you (34:08), but 4 minutes faster than my last time (in Dec). My goal was 37, so I am proud of my accomplishment! I encourage everyone to try a 5K. Even if you walk the whole way, you can do it! My friend finished in 53, but was still proud that…

  • I guess I just wasn't getting the idea of "net" calories through my head. I was so careful not to go over my caloric goal most days that it seemed counterintuitive to eat MORE. I am definitely going to start eating those exercise calories and see what happens!
  • Welcome and congratulations on taking the first steps!
  • THANKS! for all the great information here! I have been on this journey for 2-1/2 years now and have hit a huge plateau in the past few months. I was so confused, because I am diligent about writing everything down, exercising every day, etc. When I started this site to help me track, I did *not* realize that I should be…
  • The nutritional info and ingredients are here: http://www.betternpeanutbutter.com/nutrition.html They use no refined sugars, which is noce, although the amount of sugar used is the same as in traditional peanut butter. They have a store locater on their site as well.
  • I love BTPB! It *is* definitely a different texture than regular PB, but it's been worth it to me. I don't think it is being discontinued. Maybe your Kroger's won't be carrying it anymore or they were trying to get rid of what they had before a new shipment? I would contact the manager and ask him to keep that product in…
  • And don't forget your local public library! Even if they don't own all of them in-house, they can almost certainly interlibrary loan them for you. That would go a long way toward helping you decide which trainer's style best fits you. I'm a BIG fan of previewing before I buy!
  • I *love* the Jillian Michaels dvds - all of them, really. I especially like the "Biggest Winner" series. (I got the whole set for something like $15 at Best Buy a while back. Her new Banish Fat dvd kicks my butt. I have limited time in the morning, so I tend to try to find things that are only 30-40 minutes long. I concur…
  • What a great article! Thanks for sharing it!
  • Thanks for all the support. Although I just joined MFP recently, I started this weight loss journey about 2-1/2 years ago with over 100 pounds to lose. I began by tracking my food every day in a notebook and exercising. Since then, I have lost 75 pounds and had stalled, which is why I signed up here. I thought maybe this…
  • So, I have been tracking food super carefully since I joined the site a week ago.I have been wearing my heart rate monitor during every workout so I can accurately log those calories. I have added at least one, usually two, treks down 11 flights of stairs and back up again at work. (Sadly, that only burns 50 calories, but…
  • Thanks for the friendly welcome, everyone. I've plugged in today's food already, so I am hoping that helps me stay on track!
  • Hello, everyone! I realized today that I have to start tracking food again. My previous attempts to do this (both on other sites and in a notebook) always start off strong, then peter off. I have hit a plateau, though, and have slowly started letting myself eat a little extra crap during some stress. I have vacilated in a…
