mine was easy, my sister came for dinner in Jan this year and took a picture of me and hubby and posted on facebook the picture thanking us for the dinner with the caption 'the cooks'. I was absolutely horrified by the picture as it was a sideways one of me which I have never looked at myself that way. I looked smaller…

I'm 4' 11 (OK, 4' 10.5 if I am completely honest LOL) always my ambition to get to 5', big epic fail on that one. My ideal weight taking account of my age (50) is 120lbs. I log everything, fruit, veg, black coffee, gum, ketchup, mustard, spices, herbs the whole lot. It can take a while sometimes but mostly the stuff is in my 'Recent' list so it's not a problem. I am not a huge fan of ketchup or mustard although I do have a nice Ham and Mustard sandwich occasionally. And ketchup occasionally…

Go onto the BHF website the info is on there. I added it to my exercise tab when I started and it seems pretty accurate for me as I eat my exercise calories back and I have been losing. Maybe it is not for someone who is quite fit as the BHF tends to be looked at by people who have had Heart Attacks etc, so are often…

Buy a pedometer, log how many steps you take, The British Heart foundation say that if you do 10,000 steps a day you burn 400 cals, That is my preferred form of exercise and it is working for me.

If you have the cups measure it them weigh it on your scale afterwards to give the measurement in g, write it next to the recipe so next time you will know the g weight For the database entries If you look through the list you will find the same thing in a different measurement form, the generic one is often for 1g so you…

I have the book have made a few things and enjoyed them, really tasty, I would recommend it, my only little annoyance with it is that they are for lots of portions where as there are only 2 of us in my house, so trying to work out 1/2 teaspoon of something for 6 down to 2 is not the easiest, I end up just adding a pinch…

In the UK anything that contains nuts (even bags of peanuts) have to state 'May Contain Nuts' as there are quite a few people with nut allergies who have quite a severe reaction including death (which is quite severe) It also have to state whether things are made in an environment that could contain nuts as well, even if…

I weigh most mornings before eating or drinking and after bathroom duties have been sorted. I only record my weight when it drops as my scales only show whole lbs and because I lose less than that a week it might say the same reading for 2 or 3 weeks. Then suddenly drop. I try not to be too obsessive about the reading, as…

the British Heart foundation state that for every 10,000 steps it;s 400 calories used. I added that to my exercise database on MFP as I wear a pedometer everyday as it is my main exercise, As I have lost weight MFP has adjusted the calories used so now I work off 352 per 10,000 steps. It must be about right as I have been…
