I am not a fan of the unsweetened, but the naturally sweetened ones (ie. not artificial sweeteners) can be delish! I particularly like Oikos Vanilla and Oikos Honey. I would far rather eat a full fat yogurt sweetened with honey or sugar than a fat free one sweetened artificially.

Keep on keepin on, ladies! I am so inspired by all of you and your determination, especially when you're not rewarded with dramatic short term changes. It can be so disheartening to work hard and not see hard evidence of it. Keeping forward momentum in the face of that is such a challenge, but you girls are rocking it! I…

There's a link to a great spreadsheet in this thread. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/540332-stage-1-new-and-confused-even-at-this-early-stage-please

Good idea to post some goals here...thanks, Beeps! My goal for June is to stick with NROL, doing 3 workouts a week throughout. Like some of the other posters here, I tend to get bored/discouraged/intimidated and stop what I'm doing. I vow not to do that with this program. My other goal for the month is to consistently log…

Congrats on making the choice to start this program! I'm only a couple of weeks ahead of you (nearly half way through Stage 1). Feel free to add me if you like. I'm always happy to have more buddies to share the journey with.

Thanks Karen. :-) I decided to leave it, because it was feeling more sore when I got home last night. I'm going to try tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!

So glad I read this thread. Sounds like I need to go get myself an adjustable step pronto. I've been just using my stairs at home and can't manage two steps so have to use just the first one. Clearly this isn't enough height to be effective. Off to see if I can find a step (and some additional weights too) on kijiji or…

scs143, we could be twins ourselves, based on our situations! I have 2.5 (nearly 3) year old b/g twins. No other kids, though. I so admire those of you with twins PLUS! I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy, and I was overweight before that. I've lost the pg weight and then some (55 lbs), and am working on the other 40…

I often work out in the evening (usually from 8-9 pm or thereabouts), and as long as I have about an hour to unwind and relax before bed, I sleep like a baby.

Maroon 5 is definitely on my iphone for workouts. For a similarly upbeat album, try Foster the People's Torches. Great album to workout to. Also, Florence and the Machine's Ceremonials. It's a little more arty, but there are some great tracks.

This is my first post in the chat thread, but i couldn't resist. Love the 80s synth pop. It was the cheesiest, most awesome decade ever!

I agree with the others who are saying that your PT is overstepping here. He should be helping you design a program that fits with your life, not criticizing you for you "lack of motivation". If it were me, I'd can him. I also agree that when life is as busy as it is with kids, often working out at home is the best…

Bumping to see the responses. I didn't know this book existed, actually. I am starting NROL4W today, and I'm 39.

Thanks so much for the feedback, ladies. I am really excited to start tomorrow! I'm going to weigh in, and do measurements and pics tomorrow morning so I have a good record of my starting point. I have lost about 60 lbs since the beginning of my journey, but now that I am getting nearer my goal I am really looking forward…

Bumping in hopes of getting some feedback. Anyone have some perspective to share? :flowerforyou:

Thank you so much for this. I was going to make one of these myself, but this saves me all that work!

Bumping because I'm hoping to start next week. I may ride on you ladies' coattails, if you don't mind.

Bumpity-bump. Thank you so much for this!

Hi all. I'm Michelle. I'm a 39 year old (who am I kidding...I'll be 40 in October) mom of nearly 3 year old twins. I have been on a weight loss journey for about the last, oh...I don't know...10 years? Probably longer than that, but it was 10 years ago that I first joined a formal weight loss program (WW) in…

Yeah, I would definitely eat at least some of those calories back. Good job on the activity...you are a calorie burning machine!

This one is geared toward healthy recipes for kids, but I find a lot of the stuff I make for them I want to eat! Definitely worth a look. Lots of healthy recipes, but with real foods, not "reduced fat" and "sugar free". www.weelicious.com A couple of our favorites are the spinach ricotta bites and the banana wheat germ…

Zumba is a great one. I am far too uncoordinated for it, but a lot of my friends do it and burn huge calories.
-
If you're fortunate enough to have access to a treadmill, you could do some walking or jogging with incline. That can burn lots of calories, and it's great for the thighs and butt!
-
Just wanted to add that I too am a WW veteran, and I absolutely love using MFP now that I've switched (the fact that it's free certainly doesn't hurt!). You don't have to eat all your calories every day the way that WW encourages you to, but do be careful that with your exercise you don't net out too low. That is, if your…

I am not an expert in any sense of the word, so please take this with a huge grain of salt... If your niece is sedentary, I would be concerned that a plan this aggressive might be pretty intimidating for her and that it might de-motivate her. If I were in her shoes, I would respond better to a gentler lead-up to this kind…

My FT4 is fairly new, so I haven't run into this. But if it were me, I'd try a new battery first and see if that fixes it. I hope that's all it is!

Another vote for the Polar FT4. Love mine to bits. The only upside to going up a level to the FT7 (or at least the only advantage I can see) is that it is compatible with their upload software, so you can automatically upload your results to their polarpersonaltrainer.com website. If that's something you might want to do,…
