been there! did 30 minutes yesterday! slow and steady, and sometimes even slower when i was tired. tried a new trick yesterday... i was listening to music and decided to take it kinda slow, but still a medium pace. then when the chorus of the song came on, i went as fast as i could. chorus was over, i slowed down, chorus…

never did a mini challenge before b/c they all seem too hard for my fitness level, but i saw this and DID IT! thanks to the op for giving us somewhat not so fit people something within reach... anyone know how to log it? i didn't time myself for it...

i lost about 20 pounds walking around the neighborhood four times a week for about 30 minutes each time. i needed to lose some weight so i could do some different exercises. i drank a ton of water and was very careful with my diet. i still walk, but add some other exercises to help lose and maintain the weight loss. good…

same reason why everyone else doesn't...haven't found someone worth devoting that much time and energy to...yet.

not sure this counts, but proud of myself for doing it... a few days ago a neighbor and good friend sent me a text asking if i wanted this fancy loaded potato salad from costco. i said yes. it comes in a much huger container than i thought. but dumb me, it's costco. so i had some over the past few days, decided i had…

having sat in a similar box at a yankee game a few years ago, ok, more than a few, i think you will have your pick of fruits and veggies. i would eat those and nothing but those until you are almost full. focus on the game, not the food. when i was there people didn't even watch the game, they just hung out in the back and…

well said.

good luck... tickets to what concert?

my advice would be to just log it as regular walking, the fact that you are pulling something is just a bonus and will show up in your muscles or on the scale.

this is what i found works for me with chocolate... i treat myself to one lindt truffle a day. it is 70 calories, and gives me my chocolate fix. knowing i only get one, i learned to savor it, i only eat it sitting down so i am not distracted by the phone, tv, or computer, so i can really enjoy it. the family knows they are…

no more holes to use on my belt. kinda mad tho, b/c me and that belt have been thru a lot together. i was very attached to it. at my heaviest, i was on the biggest hole, now i was going to make my own holes until my dog chewed the end and made it unwearable anyway. i, too, can pull my shorts/pants down without unbuttoning…

drink more water! i struggled with this a lot early on, and it's part of the reason why i don't really weigh myself everyday anymore. one meal out would cost me 3 or 4 pounds. i asked about it here, got the same responses you did, high salt foods ='s water weight. drink more to flush (almost literally) the salt out of your…

i used to reward myself with food all the time! and use food to make me feel better when i was annoyed, angry, whatever. so rewarding myself with SOMETHING was a big switch for me. once i hit the 50 pounds lost mark, and kept if off for two weeks, i purchased bike shorts. i figured it would be something i could use to help…

thanks to everyone that responded. i am really trying to focus today and get back on track, altho with rain making my knees sore, exercising will be tough today, but if i can stay on track with food and water, it'll be a good start. i don't have friends on here, never really wanted any, i just don't think i have the time…

i'd buy a few appointments with a nutritionist. then perhaps you can buy a bicycle with the leftover money. good luck...let us know what you decide.

check out the "5 things about me" topic in chit chat...without reading the entire thing, there were three or four posts, around pages 15 thru 17, where people said they just found their birth parents. i am sure they would offer some advice if you sent them a request... good luck.

1. i can juggle 2. i married a girl i went to high school with, but not my high school sweetheart 3. i am an awesome proofreader, can usually find at least one mistake in some professionally written material per day 4. in college i went out one night without any money. went in to a bar, stood by the door, charged a $5.00…

i dont have a problem getting my water in, usually, except lately, but i guess i am in a rut. i find if i always carry a bottle with me in the car, it helps. and since tilting my head back while driving isn't really a great idea, i have found a good place to chug some water is at red lights. it gives me a good chance to…

similar situation yesterday happened to me. i took my son to a waterpark. went on about 20 rides, all of them requiring stairs to get to the top. we were at the park for a little more than 4 hours, it was empty, hence so many rides, and was either walking or climbing stairs the entire time, except for the 30 seconds on the…

i have metal plates at the end of both thigh bones. my knee caps have been hollowed out from bottom up and fitted with plastic buttons. my plates were both cemented, then screwed in to my bones. i've had 14 knee surgeries in the past 20 years. i have severe limitations when exercising, or living. there is NO running,…

this has been discussed here a lot and i have read many of the posts in previous topics. for the first two months or so, i weighed in daily. and i was losing weight most of the time, so it was a great motivator for me. would get discouraged on those days i didn't like what the scale said. but in trying to figure out what i…

i find myself standing with my hands on my hips more...kinda like i have an attitude. i don't tho, i just can feel my hip bones. very weird. i also find myself rubbing my belly while lying in bed. based on what i feel it is almost a predictor of what i am going to see when i step on the scale. belly feels smaller, down a…

i wanted to drive up to the local supermarket to grab a few things. i told my 7 year old son we were heading out and taking my car. he said, "but dad, if we walk, we will get more exercise." we walked. good to know that he is picking up on the importance of exercising. i dont even know if that counts as a nsv, but thought…
