A mix of 50/50 coffee and hot chocolate is good too.

Do you have time to make your own cappuccino in the morning? You can buy bottles of the syrup and control how much sugar goes in. If you experiment you can find sugar-free ones that don't taste like sweetener (I like Monin). Or buy ones with regular sugar and put 1-2 tsp in. Edit: It's also not bad in coffee too.

Go to a specialty store and talk to an expert. A store that specializes in running will have the knowledge for walking too. Orthopaedic inserts will help with the flat feet and you can also get recommendations when you get those.

Congratulations on all you have accomplished this far. By losing so much, you will definitely make up for the "wasted years".
-
Once you get started, you won't be nervous. It will be fun. As others said, stay to the side with the other walkers. Be proud of your accomplishment once you're done.

Definitely drink a lot of water. I also wear a buff (a type of bandana) that I've wet with cold water before hand.

Big change. well done

Go! Then go once more because the seat won't hurt as much the second time.

I didn't renew my gym membership, but I would watch whatever crap was on the tv. I also watched hockey on my phone via Game Centre Live. Otherwise, just listened to music that would keep me moving.

......the breeze keeping me cool. The encouraging people along the way, whether it's a smile as I go by or a nice comment.

I'm Angieroo on there. I just joined today and am friendless. :brokenheart:

I came to suggest this as well. They will be a lot more helpful for your needs than someone who doesn't know you telling you not to get the surgery.

I wish I kept my smaller clothes. I'm sure there are some things I still would wear.

I get mixed veggies with chicken. I've heard some places offer steamed rice as an alternative to fried.

It depends on your body. Personally I struggle to force down energy chews before a run. Looking at a banana turns my stomach. But many people I know eat food before a workout.

I'm getting rid of my crappy fitbit any day now, I'm just waiting for my Forerunner 15 to come in. I use Endomondo to track running and was using fitbit.com to compete with friends for steps. I use yoga stuff and running stuff for weight loss.
-
All it took was one look and I want some... Gimme 2 orders I'll find a way to finish them. I'll deal with the regret when my stomach hurts.
-
I started out with very similar stats to you, and it took time to get the hang of things, but eventually the weight will come off. Keep working at it and don't give up!
-
I think this is a really good response. Take it one day at a time.

What's wrong with veggies as a side dish? I eat a lot of carbs/starches because my boyfriend likes them. Control your portions and you'll still lose.

Honestly sometimes the way to break a bad habit is to just force yourself to take control. You tell yourself you do not need dessert every night and soon it won't feel like you're missing something. As for the mindless snacking, either get rid of the snacks or don't let yourself snack without paying attention, even if it…

Congrats! I ran my first 5k a month ago, it was a lot of fun. On to the next one!

I've found fairly similar information but I'm still a rookie so hopefully someone else can provide more information.

It took me 35ish pounds to feel like I should remeasure wear a different size.
-
I've been running since April. Feel free to add me.

I'm in that age group with one demanding fur baby (Yorkie). He's enough work for now.
