  • I am going to be blunt, you are beautiful!!! who knew under all that extra weight??? Congrats, really inspiring. And you look toned now, just awesome!
  • Awesome, congrats!!!!!
  • I was doing a ketogenic diet, eating less than 50 g of carbs/day. After you go through the first couple of days, the headaches and such goes away, and you actually don't feel all that hungry and lots of energy, after a couple of weeks you don't crave them anymore. I have avoided grains for the most part the last 3 months,…
  • I always sing during my zumba workouts, can't help myself ;)
  • I had a breast lift with implants 3 months ago, after breastfeeding two kids, they looked terrible, and that much more than the extra weight was affecting my self esteem. BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE!!!! I feel so much better now, I just got enough to "undo the damage", and if it werent for the breast lift scars you…
  • I did it today, and for the first time used a HRM to estimate the calories burned, it matches that website on the low intensity workout
  • I tried something called carbquick the other day, you can use it in your recipes instead of flour. I have made pancakes with it and it tasted pretty good. So far i have only been able to find it online at netrition.com You can check out my dairy for ideas, i usually stay below 100 g of carbs
  • I 100% agree with this statement, I listen to my body, try to eat as healthy as I can which happens to be mainly low calorie stuff, I do not obsess over the net calorie target, if I am hungry I may eat a bit more, if I am not and I haven't reached my target I am not eating just whatever to get to that number my weight loss…
  • Not true that MFP is the only "program" that promotes eating your workout calories. Weight watchers gives you "activity points" to use during the week for certain amount of exercise.
  • don't have time to read all this now, but i agree with you, it has been working for me. I started netting 1000 cals/day, of GOOD food, low carb, no dairy. Now that i have added dairy I have been slowly upping my cals to 1200 net, if I am a bit hungrier, I eat a bit more that day, if not I am not going to shove food down my…
  • You look amazing!!! though I would love to see a closer after pic, and maybe show us your abs ;) Now the geek comment of the week: I love, love, love that you posted your weight loss progress, I do the same, and I imagine some of those times when the scale was not playing nice must have been really frustrating. It has…
  • Technically you shouldnt eat below your BMR, that said, I have been eating below my BMR for a long time and I am still losing weight, and mostly fat not muscle. I am exercising a lot too, and I feel great, even 30 min walking a day is better than nothing
  • This, your body needs time, it works, trust me. Lots of people in here will tell you it doesnt matter what you eat as long as it is below your TDEE. For me it is also about what you ear, i am targetting less than 100 g of carbs/day and over 100g of protein/day. Find what works for you and your body and stick with it for at…
  • I had a breast lift with implants and liposuction around my belly/hips. I was so excited with the results and was so afraid of not being able to maintain them that I started this diet and tracking on MFP and here I am, 13 lbs lighter and I am pretty much back to where I was before babies. I had small implants, so most…
  • Some days I can barely eat 1200 cals, somedays it is really easy to go over..... I am eating low carb, and that is a major source of calories, so that makes it easier. I must admit there is a bunch of stuff in your dairy I don't know
  • bump so I can go back to this thread later
  • I am a chocoholic. I have a piece every night after the kids are in bed and I am just ready to relax. I have been having the dark chocolate guirardelli ones, yesterday I bought godiva dark chocolate truffles, a piece is 50 calories worth, I work it in my calorie count, sometimes I skim on other things just to make sure I…

  • smoked salmon or roast beef roll ups, I love them. Take a salmon or roast beef slice, put a bit of mustard or feta cheese, and roll it around spinach or lettuce, a couple of slices of bell pepper and celery. 2 oz of salmon is about 100 cals, and the rest has almost no calories. I think I could eat this every night!
  • I live in katy as well, welcome to MFP, lots of great info out here, some not so much ...... Congrats on 17 lbs pounds lost, thats awesome, find what works for you and stick with it. Good luck
  • well, I should have clarified that my oldest is 4 yrs old, so essentially it has been a 4 yr journey. I was 155 lbs when I got pregnant the first time, I gained 35 lbs with her, and I managed to lose that weight after maybe 10 months, I was on BC (implanon) and as soon as I removed that I gained 10 lbs almost…
  • For a healthy weight loss you shouldn't lose more than 2 lbs/week, unless you have a lot to lose. That would be about 8 lbs in a month .... that would maybe mean a size down, and the results wouldn't be too noticeable for most people. Don't look for that quick fix, this is a lifestyle change, there are no magic fixes.
  • Get a scale that measures body fat, that is what I really want to lose. And don't weigh in every day, weigh in once a week, at the same time, with the same clothes, etc. I was driving myself nuts staring at the scale every morning.
  • I just did the same for my husband. Luckily for him its probably about eating better, or even more calories, he has been working out A LOT and has lost a lot of weight. I also tried to motivate my father, who does really need it, but he is overseas, and not very computer saavy, so its more difficult. Hopefully I can teach…
  • Cant you just reintroduce carbs progressively and in moderation? I am doing transition right now, 4 weeks, reintroducing dairy and stuff like lentils and more fruit. Then i will reintroduce carbs, i am thinking of only eating them on weekends and mainly for breakfast. In theory, as long as you are still at a deficit you…
  • I did a ketogenic diet for 8 weeks, last week I reintroduced dairy. It worked pretty well for me, thats how I have lost what I have lost. Dairy was the hardest thing for me to give up.
  • I do this as well, is the only ME time I have. I am a mom of a 4 yr old girl and a 15 month old boy. I work out 40-45 min during lunch time, take a quick shower and then eat at my desk. Also on the weekends, DH and I sort of take turns to go workout. I have always been a lazy person, but somehow, I am not sure exactly how,…
  • LOVE THIS!
  • It might take a week or two for your body to react to what you are doing. Don't get discouraged and keep at it, results will come!!! To gain 1.5 lbs of fat you would have to eat 5250 calories over that week on top of your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), unless you grossly underestimated your calories, that is highly…
  • mix it up, weight lifting and building muscle will help your weight loss. I do cardio 3 days a week and weights twice a week, my husband noticed this week how much better my arms look ;) Plus, you burn calories while lifting too, you know. I do a superset, where you don't rest in between exercises, and I do 3-5 min of…
