38.58! Doing great thus far. Way ahead of schedule. (Usually I'm the opposite....way behind schedule and having to complete mad miles at the end of the month to meet my goals.) Racking up more miles this weekend....a 5k race tomorrow (gonna be warmer but a wet run!) and a long walk with a friend on Sunday!

35.28 I was planning on running most of my miles this year but as I hate the treadmill and it's too darn cold for this gal to run outside (not to mention the patches of ice)....so I've been doing more miles on my exercise bike than I had planned. Oh well...workouts are being completed!

I've done two routes to navigate holidays/parties and heavy eating events. One I plan ahead....this is things such as *have a smaller plate than the normal dinner plate * make sure that I set the table and have the healthy items sitting near me versus the high fat content items * offer to bring a dish or two...that way I…

Hi I'm MaryFran, a 40 year old from Maryland. I'm married with no kids and have already lost just shy of 100 pounds. I have at least 40 to go to get to the high end of where my Doctor recommended my weight to be at...but about 55 pounds to get to a 'healthy weight' as defined by the Body Mass Index charts. Accountability,…

Failed on this months attempt.... Next month though, I'm NAILING IT!

Play around with it. I have found that if I eat too soon before a high energy class that I literally think I'm going to see it on the floor after I hurl it up. However, if I eat lunch and don't eat until after my class (which is over at 8PM) then I have had some issues with feeling sick and weak. It's a fine line. For me,…

I run on empty most of the time...if I do grab something it is a string cheese.

Uhhhh I've been a total bum this month. I have learned that I do work well under pressure...but I'm not sure.....we shall see. :-) <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/exercise/w4e9GkD/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/w4e9GkD/exercise.png"></a>

Definitely keep the same routines. It's more fun when things are a bit familiar! Ditto on the excitement level that and instructor brings...makes a HUGE difference. The last thing I say....slow down your choreography....or rather don't slow it down but don't move from move to move at such a rapid pace. I enjoy classes…

Walking is a great start...and really cheap. When I was over 300 pounds I started with a bike. It is low impact, which is a good thing. Basically whatever you can handle doing...do it!!!

Ok, running late (due to some vacation days and some huge household projects...yes, I built a patio....which included carting a ton of dirt, a ton of gravel and a lot of sand!) I am going to aim for 150 miles this month!!!!!!

6 days. I usually take a day of rest....however I still end up walking or doing something active on my rest days. If you work at with any great intensity your body needs the rest day!

Early morning....I find that I can be out...get in my run or bike ride and be home in time to make breakfast for myself and my husband and do a few things around the house and get to work. I find that I'm super charged with energy after my morning exercise so I'm sooo much more productive with my time after a run or ride.…

Look online...there are tons. The trick to finding on that is in your price range is to look at the features. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE one that has the GPS and all the bells and whistles, but I just couldn't afford it, so I had to go with a basic HRM without all the bells and whistles. Figure out what is important to you and…

I have fun a handful of 5k's this year. I've got a few more on my radar, but I haven't registered for any yet. I think I need to rectify that! :-)

The grandeur is that you are going to do it! I soooo wish I still lived in Brooksville, I'd mosey down to Tampa and run it with you! In lieu of that, I'll be cheering for you from Maryland!

Self talk! When I want to quit I ask myself "MaryFran, are you dying?" And when I realize that I'm just a bit sore or a bit lazy or a bit whatever, I tell myself "Well buck up, because if you DON"T continue you WILL die....obesity kills!" I remind myself continually about my dreams and my goals to be fit, svelte and a…
