Does it count that I would still think it was disgusting if it was another country that was doing it? My point of reference for Americans and obesity is mostly just b/c I'm American. I would still think it was disgusting even if it was from another culture. That said, American cuisine is a blend of other cultures that has…

So, all your left with is fried buttery batter? It sounds disgusting and I love butter. lol
-
So true! LOL

If it can be baked instead of deep fried, my stomach and intestines thank me every time since I have IBS. Yes, there are some of us who prefer not to eat deep fried foods. Does that mean I *never* eat it? No. But, it's certainly not my preferred, go-to method of cooking. I was at my husband's uncle's house last weekend and…

For the record, I'm disgusted by the fact that they are now deep frying cereal. My point in sharing the link was that obesity is due largely (no pun intended) in part to the disgusting, fat-laden foods that people willingly consume. They wouldn't come up with novelty fair food like this to share if people weren't willing…

I can honestly say that fried ice cream is probably the only non-typically fried food item that I have ever eaten. It *is* about self-control, for sure. But, this type of stuff wouldn't be offered if people didn't buy it.
-
Completely agree.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. I was talking about the deep frying - ANYTHING - part. Not the fact that a person can buy it at the fair once a year when it moves through town.

Palm Bay, FL checking in. :)

I had my kids at the following ages: 27 30 36 38 Yep - 4 of 'em.

Just when I almost got upset about not being a cool kid, I read this thread. :glasses:

Well, if it's tacky, then my hubby and I are going to be tacky, too. We got married by a Notary (good friend of mine) on the beach with barely anyone present. Our plan is to do a vow renewal at our 5 yr anniversary, have a reception and take the honeymoon we never took. It's your life - do with it what makes YOU happy and…

^^^ My thoughts exactly. Well said.

We watched and hubby went from saying he wasn't going to be that impressed to acknowleding what an accomplishment it was - even with the safety harness. We, too, noticed that he was talking to God and loved that. :)

That is an amazing difference! Go you! I love your hair in the second pic! :)
-
YAY you! Keep up the great job! :)

Apparently FSU doesn't teach capitalization and punctuation or proper sentence structure. *snicker*

I haven't been there in several years, but Singer Island used to have a great beach. Ft Lauderdale > Miami, IMO. But, I'm not a big fan of living anywhere south of the Palm Beach County line. lol I moved out of there 6 1/2 years ago and haven't missed it one bit. I'm a slower pace kinda girl, though I do miss having more…

How about Bionic Woman? Do you remember her? I used to pretend like I was her a lot. lol

It's always been Wonder Woman. I even had WW underoos when I was a kid.

I see you're from the best place in FL. Go Gators! :drinker:

I'm a native Floridian, but I lived in WA State for a while...and still considered myself a Floridian. So, I still would have replied to this thread.

Native girl here!

Did you tell her that it's a good thing her opinion of you doesn't matter? Good grief! We had a TV, but no cable until 2007 (from about 2001). The only reason I finally got satellite in 2007 was b/c my dad - the couch potato - threatened to stop visiting me if I didn't get him some TV to watch. My older kids are 10 and 7…

Tequila. Not the smartest way to celebrate my 18th birthday. :embarassed:

My husband hangs out with the guys and texts with his buddies way more than I do with any of my female friends. I really only have 2 women in my life right now who I consider "close" friends and neither one of them even get full disclosure of things I wish I could share with a close girl friend. I think it's the nature of…

Do both. That way you can wear your HRM while you eat the artery clogging burger and fries and watch what it does to your HR. :glasses:

I watched that with my husband. We were cracking up!

If it makes you feel any better my now 7 year old once tripped on a wire holding a yard decoration down while we were out Trick or Treating. He was almost 2 at the time and he did a major face plant in the person's yard. He wasn't hurt, but I nearly peed myself laughing as I helped him up. It was just funny to watch him.…

Stella Artois Newcastle Tucher Warsteiner I drank my way through Europe for a month and those are the ones that became my favorites. :) ETA - I do enjoy a good raspberry wheat once in a while, too.
