Every single woman experiences her period differently. Some women can drink some water, or pop an ibuprofen and keep on going. Some women are debilitated with cramping. It's not that some women are strong and some are wussy, it's just that truly, everyone person's body is different. So yes, staying hydrated may help.…

I don't have it saved on this computer or I'd share my weight loss graph with you. I graphed my scale weight every single day for 8 months (I am just the teeniest bit OCD). It was a crazy, zig-zaggy line, and day to day, it was hard to see progress. Totally not uncommon to have my weight jump up as much as 3 pounds from…

I've been on the site for awhile (since April 2012), went into maintenance several months ago, then realized I wasn't quite where I wanted to be. My weight isn't super important to me right now (although I think I'd like to get down into the 160s), I'm a lot more concerned with fitness. I'm training for a half marathon in…

Me! But we're already friends  But it would be fun to have some more appraiser friends.

I think so? I was 164.4 this morning, aiming for 160 (I'm 5'11). But....I don't really know. My butt and thighs are still much jigglier and more cellulite-y than I want. If a 4.4 pound loss clears that up then yep! I'm at goal. But I'm guessing that even at my "goal weight," I'll still have work to do. Honestly, right now,…

My husband and I did Power 90 together last year. Started in April, finished in July. Over that time frame, I lost 20 lbs and dropped 2 pants sizes. I think it's a really great program for people who are just starting out, and like most workouts, you get what you put into it: when it starts to get easier, that's when you…

1. Lost 39 pounds (31 with MFP) 2. Lost 7" off my waist 3. Went from "overweight" BMI to "normal" 4. Went from not being able to run for a full 2 minutes to running a full 5k Goals for 2013: 1. Run a 10k 2. Start trail running 3. Give up aspartame

2 "fun size" twix. My husband bought 3 gigantic bags of candy to hand out (85 pieces each) and I was pissed because I just KNEW that we were going to have a ton leftover (that was his plan-- he's got a mega sweet tooth). Hah! We burned through those bags (less 2 twix for me) by 7:45. So thankfully, I don't have any…

I'm a newbie this month, put me down for 100 miles.

Um, yes! You look great! The difference is definitely noticeable.

Maybe I'm not picky enough, but I really like Target's Market Pantry brand of whey protein powder. 140cal/5g carb/25g protein. I like the chocolate blended with skim milk.

A "Plain Jane" baked potato (cheese, butter, sour cream & bacon) at Jason's Deli is.....wait for it.....2320 calories. I'm not even kidding you. I used to eat one of those (with sweet tea) for lunch fairly regularly. Yikes. The "lighter version" is still 1130 calories.

I'm at a point now where apparently it's really obvious and people are noticing. But I'm still really uncomfortable discussing it. I don't know why-- I'm proud of myself, but I really don't like discussing my weight, and my food intake and my fitness regimen with others. I'm happy to brag a little when I do something cool…

My work hours are really flexible, so I usually head to the gym in lieu of a lunchbreak. My boss doesn't care if I take a two hour lunch (that's how long it usually takes to drive to the gym, change, work out, shower, dress, and drive back to my office), so it works for me. I eat lunch out 4-5 days a week (too lazy to pack…

I do exactly the same thing. I can handle a day-to-day fluctuation because I know that it's water weight, but if I step on the scale for the first time in a week and it's an increase over last week, it's harder to handle.

I use the C25k app for my iphone so that I don't have to focus on time. When I run on a treadmill, I put a towel over the "time elapsed" box so that I don't have to see it. If I'm focused on how much time I still have to go, I won't make it. I just have to kind of try to zone out. If I'm focusing on time, I start…

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to slow it down, take a towel to cover up the "time elapsed" on the treadmill tonight (was going to run outdoors but it's pouring), and try again to get to 35 minutes. Then I think I'm going to mix it up with some intervals, so I'm doing intervals 1-2x per week and trying to go the…

Me either. But I did some number crunching, and looking at my weight gain against my activity level, I estimate that I was averaging around 3200 cal/day. Ugh.

Shut up. It's "forever in blue jeans"?? I have been singing Reverend Blue Jeans my whole life.

Larabars! Just fruit, nuts, and some occasional chocolate. Also they're delicious.

But you are! Maybe you're not "slim" yet, but you are slimmer. It's an awesome feeling to realize that you're moving in the right direction, to be able to look in the mirror and think "I look better today than I did yesterday." Embrace the feeling, it will keep you motivated and keep you moving!

1.) How old are your children and how many do you have? My daughter Ava is 3, my son John will be 1 on 9/24. 2.) Will you be planning to have more kids in your future? Nope! My husband had a vasectomy and I was prepared to feel some sadness and regret, even knowing that it was the right decision for our family. Luckily,…

Love it! I'm in. As long as I remember....

I think more people than you realize started in the exact same place that you are right now. I know I did. Many a diet was thwarted by the panic that set in when I realized that never again would I be able to split a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts with my husband, never again would I be able to eat an entire plate of cheese…

Congrats!!!

I almost guarantee you that you are more active than you think. I had pegged myself as sedentary, but got a fitbit for my birthday back in July and I was truly surprised at how much time I spend moving-- whether it's chasing after my kids at home, going up and down the stairs while doing laundry, or just the inordinate…

Love the Ren Faire dress! My daughter (3yo) wants to be Rapunzel (of course), so I'll take her trick or treating as Mother Gothel, and my 1yo son will be the chameleon (whatever his name is).

So many of these ring true for me. "I've eaten one oreo, I may as well eat them all, since I'm going to eventually anyway" After having one bad day, "Well, there goes that diet. I'll start again next week." Like diets can only begin on Mondays. The biggest one that I was telling myself though, was that the food was making…

I'm the dead opposite. I can't think of a single thing I won't pay to have done, except sex.

I've never done one of these before, but I'm in!
