St John Ambulance, goes along with my Paramedics Degree, but I can't do a single push up to save my life, so should be interesting. Have 12 weeks to get up to doing 20, should be ok though :) C25K is certainly kicking the running in the butt

Hello! I'm Dana, a student medic from New Zealand. Got my fitness test in 12weeks to become an ambulance volunteer, on top of the clinical hours as part of the degree, so am getting the fitness up and the weight down :)

Currently running week 3 myself, it has its good and bad days. Finding it a good method though, I may pass my fitness test for volunteering after all! :D

Can't in NZ - 14 hours is the legal max we can work, and shifts are only ever rostered for 12 hours or less so that you have leeway should you get a bad call at the end of shift.

"Bananas" Sorry, it had to be done.... But otherwise, I'd say whichever is easier really, I tend to go by length or amount of fruit because rulers are generally easier to find in workplaces than a scale :)

Yeah I find if I eat within about 2 hours of exercising I feel nauseous so I usually leave it a couple hours too.

I hired a personal trainer once a week because I needed to increase my strength to pass fitness tests, but most trainers will take you around for half an hour and make you a program to follow and show you how to follow it for a one-off cost. It should be both cardio and strength, and it's totally worth it for the increase…

That's brilliant! I have a similar problem - I want to join the navy so will have to learn to stay afloat in water whereas I'm used to just floating easily!

I just call breakfast whatever meal I ate first, whether it was at night or not. If MFP tries to jump to the next day you can just click back to the previous one, which is how I do it. It is a tad tedious though, and my night shifts tend to be 1800-0600

I live in New Zealand - there is no possible way to escape The Hobbit for at least another few weeks, its even on the postage stamps on my mail lately. Though it is pretty hilarious. Sadly not from Welly so couldn't go to World Premiere :(

Currently bouncing around shifts so any time from 11pm to 4am, to 4pm, basically just when work's over.

I think the only SPN character we got at Armageddon in NZ was Crowley when Mark Sheppard played in Doctor Who, still awesome though! Can't wait till I move to Canada and get the chance to go to the cons over there, Only 2.5 years to go...

Hey guys, I'm a Paramedics student in New Zealand, two semesters into a 3 year degree. Looking at shifting to Canada upon graduation, getting fit for the 1100 clinical hours coming my way next week.... Should be fun though!
