Thanks for the response! I'll admit - the mini-challenge for me hasn't gone well the past two days due to an emergency that arose, but I'm starting with Wednesday!

I love adding spinach to mine, along with bell peppers (green, red, orange, yellow - any combination), red or Vidalia onions, sometimes a bit of bacon (turkey of course!), and some shredded cheese. Sorry, I'm from WI, and while I've cut way back on cheese, I still need a little bit! I typically don't do egg…

OP - I have a few items at my desk to help curb that issue should it arise. If someone brings in something sweet and I feel good about my calories that day, I may have a small sliver. If not, I'll pop a hard candy that's only 15-20 calories. To curb salty snacks that are offered, I have some plain microwave popcorn bags…

Looks like I'm going to buy some Fiber One cereal, Puffed Wheat, and Puffed Rice! More for less calories than even my oatmeal! And then I'll throw a packet or two of Splenda if I need a touch of sweetness, plus some berries! Thank you for this post!

I know that today I will be over my goal, and my lunch was pretty awful calorie-wise. But I just look past that and realize that I'm not eating like this everyday, and I'll still feel better now than I did in the past. I hold myself accountable too, by having my diary in the open to friends and strangers alike.

Sounds like a great challenge! I'm in! One silly sounding question though - what are crunches? Are they mini sit-ups? I primarily do cardio, so I wasn't sure if crunches were a weight lifting thing.

Do you have the mobile app version? It helps me a lot in my logging abilities.

I have tried Atkins before, and felt like I was starving most of the day. Since I've switched gears and just replaced many of my sweets and salty snacks with healthier choices, and swapped out the large plate for a smaller plate, I've gone down 12 pounds, and lost a good 8 inches off of my frame. I think low-carb eating…

This does look good! I'll have to give this a try sometime!

I don't always trust the calories burned of MFP, but input the calories from my gym's machine or calorie lists I've obtained from other sources. For one's I cannot count that way, I eat back between 50-75% of my exercise calories (with the occasional splurge)

Thank you! I haven't noticed the forum postings on here, but all the ads, all the magazine articles, all the signs - I was nearly sucked in to a few of them in the past. I tried Slim-Fast years ago - and all I was left with was a grumbling stomach and an ulcer. I never bought into any of the pills, but what all these…

1. Noticing how loose many of my clothes are getting on me - some even a size L! 2. Feeling more confident about wearing a new swimsuit (in a size I haven't worn in over 10 years) on a trip I'll be taking in 2 months. 3. Having my daughter tell me "Mom, you're getting skinny!" 4. Riding my bicycle without feeling sluggish…

I'm not sure about all of them replacing electrolytes, but I do know that Gatorade, G2, and PowerAde all do. As for the taste, I prefer the orange flavor most - it's got a similar taste to Kool-Aid, just not as sweet.

Congrats on the weight loss! I've been a member since 2010, and had ups and downs during that time. In the past few months I've gotten much more serious about it, and am down myself about 10 pounds in 3 months - but even better, I've lost 8 inches! I'm challenging myself by ensuring that I log EVERYTHING that goes in my…

Thanks for the great idea! Love spinach, and love strawberries! How many servings does this make?

I love my MIL dearly, but she's an excellent cook (and baker!) Whenever we head to my in-laws for a meal, I ensure I've allotted room for some of her delicious foods! I giggled a bit at your rant, only because if I refuse something of my MIL's, I feel bad about it. Happy workout!

Sending you a request!

Store bought salad, Panera (check calories in advance, though the Chicken Noodle soup on the you pick two is only 80 calories!), Applebee's has a great lower calorie selection, as does Chili's. Other options would be Subway or Cousin's (again, check calories in advance on their website). Good luck!

I've been doing better with ensuring I'm logging daily. Feel free to add me!

My top ones to watch are calories first, calcium second (due to my mother and grandmother both having had osteoporosis), fats third (due to high cholesterol running in my family), and the rest as they fall. Though I am having to ensure sodium is a bit higher since I've dropped lots of fatty foods from my diet.

I too have looked at pictures of me in more recent years and saw what I didn't see before. I'd start small, taking baby steps. If you're used to eating out a lot, cut back on that and make homecooked meals. No matter what homecooked meals you make (fried chicken, baked fish, steamed veggies), it will nearly ALWAYS be lower…

I've dropped 11 pounds since restarting MFP (close to 20 pounds total), and while my progress may be slow, I'm losing weight by eating healthier than I have in the past. I still eat things that are deemed "unclean", and still lose weight. I think it's a matter of moving more, making better food choices overall, and…

Drinking Gatorade yesterday most certainly helped - even before having something salty for dinner. Thanks for the great advice all!

I officially weigh myself once per week, but if I've had an off day I will weigh myself the next day to see how it's affected my weight. Also, what a great idea! I think I may do this myself too!

Is it possible to lose 30 pounds in 3 months? Yes. Is losing 30 pounds in 3 months a healthy weight loss goal? No. If you're looking for a healthy goal, I'd say 1-1.5 pounds per week, which would put you at 15-20 pounds in the course of 3 months. Good luck!
