  • I don't care that it's Monday because it's the only day I've got. . . and I'm taking it and making it the best day I can!:)
  • You can do this! After I worked out regularly for two months, I was amazed and surprised by my strength and endurance--never ever thought I could do what I could do--jogging, swimming, weight lifting, etc. For me, doing a variety of activities really helped, as did interval training (walking/jogging), and weight lifting.…
  • What I think I need to realize or understand is that I will have to manage this for a lifetime. There will be up and downs and living does involve eating treats and indulging. So learning to manage that while continuing to make healthy choices most of the time is the job. For me, its almost that I need to change my…
  • I stay home with my kiddos--a three year old and two school aged. MFP is a great place to be--great support! Three years ago, we joined a gym, and it has been the best investment we have made. I love that my little guy can play while I work out AND get some alone time. It's a win win! Glad you are here!:)
  • Take it one day, one step at a time. This is doable! Add me if you want!:)
  • I like this. Might do it with for each day I log my food.
  • Exactly! I'm trying to change the way I look at it. I'm not starting over, but I am keeping going! Trying to get rid of the on/off mentality! Still working at it! Good luck as you keep on!:)
  • Not really cheese that melts but thought I'd share -- I just used regular cheese but use less of it. I often used .5 ounces of shredded sharp cheddar in eggs, quesadillas, etc. I also like Parmesan cheese slices on apples. Delish!
  • Love this tip--thank you thank you! I too am always washing the PB off the tablespoon--not any more!:)
  • Hey you! You can do this! We all have to figure out how to claim a healthy life--for our situation and our life! For me, getting some activity in every day helps me keep the crazies at bay, and helps calm my anxious mind. This could just be a walk! Exercise DVD's are great! Even using a step up and down while watching tv,…
  • All of the above. Every day is different for me--because life and schedules with three kiddos are never the same. So I go with where I am at and try to make the best choices available. Having said that, I do like to eat at regular intervals. If I feel starving, I find it harder to make healthy choices.
  • There were supposed to be quotes around the bean soup notes--that was someone else's great idea--just adding to it.
  • Bean soup: I usually get a packaged bean soup mix and discard the spice packets. Follow directions. Add vegetables as above. You can also add chopped potatoes or pearl barley to bulk it up. [/quote] Adding a couple of cooked, chopped turkey brauts can add some extra flavor and protein to a bean soup.
  • I like to use tortillas for some easy wraps -- freeze easily. If you wrap in a paper towel, you can pop in microwave for a few minutes. A few ideas -- --Make a dozen scrambled eggs, perhaps with some diced ham or another breakfast protein (I like my eggs with cooked onions, peppers, and mushrooms mixed in). Divide on 12…
  • For my family of three, I try NOT to cook separate meals -- because really my kids need to eat the same healthy foods that I am eating. I have one picky eater, so foods that are mixed together like casseroles and crock pot meals, don't always work so well. What does work well for us is a meal where each item is cooked…
  • Great ideas here! A few of mine are -- --Bean burrito -- one tortilla, 1/2 cup beans (black, white, pinto, whatever,) .5 ounces cheese, salsa -- You can freeze these wrapped in a paper towel and just pop in the microwave when needed. I also like them baked 350 degrees for around 10 mins--adds a little crunch. --Quesadillas…
  • same here. If you find the answer, please let me know!
  • I used to feel this way, and sometimes still do. But the one thing that motivates me is that--it works! On the weeks I really track and stay around or below calorie goal, I have a loss! The other weeks when I'm more loose with it--not so much. I have also started to see the freedom as I track what I eat. I can still have…
  • My favorite (though no one else in my family likes them) is strawberry peanut butter. 1 c milk, 1 c strawberries, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 1 tsp sugar (or other sweetener). I could eat this every day. It's kind of high is cals, so I also make a half batch sometimes.
  • I think WW has a lot of good to offer. I got good information and motivation from the meetings. I have three kids, and life has gotten more busy, so it was harder and harder to get to meetings. Now I take that time to get my workout in. Also, for me, one of the strengths of using MFP is all of the support from the online…
  • You probably are doing LOTS right--especially with your loss already. I can speak to what works for me. I try hard to stay away from the processed food and carbs and sugar--I'm not perfect, but I'm doing a pretty good job for me. No crackers or granola bars because I can't eat just one. Clean snacks I like are almonds ( I…
  • Hey--Sounds busy! I never used to think I could do it with my busy life, but I am here to tell you that you CAN. It is totally doable! I never would have believed it a few months ago, and I have struggled to get in the place to make it work! But I totally believe that doing the work -- eating right and getting the activity…
  • This is the best victory ever! love it love it love it! Congrats to you on all of the hard work you are doing! Thanks for sharing--seriously!!!!
  • I love this post! You are so doing the work and seeing the results! And you are still going! Thanks for sharing your successes!!!
  • Mine right now is "Continue the work you started." This is what I need to do each and every day right now! "Continue the work you started."
  • You know--I play those mind games too--and it's such a tough place to be in! I was so far from perfect, but i wrote it down, and I'm going to write it down tomorrow. One of these days, I will actually be within my calorie range. I'm just keeping on--doing the work and doing the work! Pep talks are definitely a good thing!…
  • This, this, and this! Smart words of wisdom here! Believe you can do it and you will! Good luck!
  • Both phone and laptop --I'm a fast typist --so got to have my laptop or I wouldn't say a thing on here! having options is one of the best things about MFP.
