I'm still here, lurking. 84.5 miles so far for October

Today I started weights again. My limbs are dead

So decided to see what Hal would do for a 50k in 18 weeks. Not a fan of his plan.

We had Carraba's last night. I was going to only eat half but then I was still hungry so I ate it all. Then I felt stuff. I then had marshmallows later in the evening to have something sweet. Went a few hundred calories over. Oh well, *kitten* happens.

Many Scandinavian countries are on the top of lists for equality between men & women. Norway is either 1 or 2. Can't recall exact numbers. US doctors and attorneys tend to have that attitude. I don't let them get away with it though. Lol

From what he told me it feels like stepping on a razor initially and then tingles for awhile. From my understanding that's pretty typical. I think for kids they do the antivenom but most adults are fine with just some pain & tingling.

@quilteryoyo He took advil right away. Refuses to ice 🙄 Men. It's tingly but he says it isn't that bad. Sounds horrible awful to me 🤷🏼♀️

@avidekeo ugh, that's so disrespectful. I find some positions make some people feel they are more important than others. I'm sure if it was reversed they'd be pissed. Lol hope you get some sleep. @quilteryoyo Stress eating is a real challenge. Do what you can and take care of yourself 🖤 Remembered to weigh in today (after…

@martaindale Great job getting under an hour! That is awesome! There are so many factors involved in the course distance. My garmin never matches because course are measured on tangents but we don't run those usually. And gps is always questionable. Usually my watch has me over the mileage. One 5k I did the course was…

I forgot to weigh in today. Tomorrow morning. Food: I looked at my nutrition per the app. I'm about 600 calories over weekly goal but net is like over 2k under weekly goal 🤣 Big hike & long run burn a lot of calories. With 11 miles today I treated myself to a drink & some brownie bites and peppermint ice cream. Perfect…

I'm at 70 miles for October (running only). My plan was to do 30 this coming week so works out perfectly! 11 miles as planned despite getting "lost". I wasn't really lost, just missed my planned turn. I forgot to put it in my notes for my trail route. No biggie, turned around and made a new route on the fly that was almost…

@Camaramandy648 Yes, don't lift the night before a long run, especially if it's leg work.

@shanaber @quilteryoyo We toured a submarine (and battleship) at Pearl Harbor. I don't think I could live on either. Although maybe if an officer or dentist/doctor on the battleship. They had big suites with windows. I do have one of those balls and a roller. I used the ball yesterday along with ice & stretching. Feeling…

Last Saturday during my race my right arch starting bothering me. It was fine Sunday (walk), Monday (run), then Tuesday as we were walking the Grand Canyon it started up again. Went on our big hike Wednesday. Sore on the way down, not as much hiking back up. I am blaming my tight calf. I noticed it was getting tight/tired…

@shanaber Oh Hobbes! So cute! He would make a good receiver for Aaron! And yah let's not talk about Sundays game 🤣

@Avidkeo that's interesting. Many of the women I know were in their 30s or early 40s when diagnosed. Seems they need to come up with a better screening? I dunno

Years ago I knew a woman with breast cancer history in her family. She wanted to start at 35 & her doc and / or insurance wouldn't allow it. I can't recall the details. It's like when docs & insurance say women can't get tubes tied or men a vasectomy because they are still young and may want kids. Even after they've had 2…

I just turned 40 & my doc said I have to get it done. Zero history in my family. Fun fact celiac disease makes breast cancer less likely (but small intestinal cancer more likely)

I need to schedule my boob squish. Online wouldn't let me pick the location near me. I haven't found any other places on my side of town. Like I'm the only woman 🙄 Eggnog is gross.

I started one but didn't finish. It was more I decided to do something different. It does adjust as you go. The biggest drawback for me was you can't see future workouts. With Hal I can see his general plan through race day & then it makes little adjustments. Garmin you can move workouts around. Hal doesn't allow that.…

Race went well. It was my fastest time for the fall series but overall it was 2nd fastest (spring & fall). Fall race goes counterclockwise and spring goes clockwise. Looking at my garmin/strava, the fall race is 3.13 miles and spring is 3.11. Must be a spot that gets shortened going clockwise. Official results not posted…

I have my first in person race of 2020. I haven't had a race in almost a year (early December 2019). I'm in the first wave. I picked first available because I wanted to get in & out with as little people as possible. But now I'm afraid I'll be so slow and get passed by people in other waves because the waves are only 5…

Been tracking food and making sure to run or stay active (walking) when I don't run and weight is slowly going in the right direction. I've lost about a pound over last 3 weeks so right on track. This coming week will be camping and hiking then I'll start a weight training program. I'm also on track to reach my 100 miles…

I'll probably still count my run from the 11th. My legs are usually trashed after a double digit trail run so I'll probably be doing lower mileage for the first few weeks after the half. Without knowing how I feel I didn't want to take a 10k spot & not be able to run it when someone else knows they can do it.
-
I took a 5k spot. I was going to do 10k but I'm doing a trail half the Saturday before. Figured 5k would be safer LOL

My costume is super lame. I have a wonder woman tank, black shorts, knee socks with little capes, and wonder woman sunglasses with my murica brooks 🤣 If I saved them I have wonder woman sweat bands for my wrists.

So I was struggling with an idea for Monday's podcast. Then I realized I have a racenon Saturday (small trail race usually capped at 100 runners) and can talk about the experience! After the first few episodes I try to make the podcast about topics more runners can learn from rather than all about me but I figured this…

I'm free. It's a holiday (veterans day) in the US

21 days is *kitten*. Past summers I got up at 4 am to run before heat hit. After 2 months I was over it and would start making excuses. LOL
