Definitely not a hoax - I can remember reading about this chap when he was at his highest weight and bed-bound. It's a huge achievement to have lost so much weight, but it has left him partially disabled due to the amount of excess skin that he carries on his body.

It must be horrible to have that much loose skin - I'm surprised that he hasn't been able to get some removed on purely medical grounds by the NHS.

Sigh... Why? If you are peeing a lot that means you are drinking too much water. Water may be good , but more does not always equal better. Your kidneys do a pretty good job but "flushing" them with lots of water is not necessary - in fact you may lose some water soluble nutrients.

I'd say concentrate on your finals! don't stress about what you are eating. You won't get a second chance at your exams but you have the rest of your life to deal with dietary issues.

This might sound counter-intuitive, but have you tried skipping breakfast completely? For me eating breakfast seems to get my appetite working, whereas I'm fine to lunchtime if I don't have anything.

As the result of millions of years of evolution we have by now developed the ability to keep ourselves hydrated under almost all circumstances through our sense of thirst. If you are having to force yourself to consume fluids, peeing every 15 minutes or having colourless urine you are overdoing it. Under extreme conditions…

If your Dr suggested this diet, then he/she ought to give you guidance on what you should be eating. Zero carb AND low-fat will be very restrictive in my opinion.
