Whenever I get off track, I ALWAYS go back to IF. I find it to be very lifestyle friendly, just as you say.

I love it. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/49-intermittent-fasting That's the group which has a lot of good info.

1. I drink one cup of coffee daily with 1 packet of sugar substitute and one tablespoon of sugar free creamer. Generally, even if I have "normal" creamer and real sugar in my coffee, it still tops out at 50 cals per cup. MUCH better than the 800+ cal ones you buy at chains. 2. Never heard of that one but I look at the…

From your sample daily diet, I don't think you are eating enough. I don't believe in "starvation mode" as that's been proven to only happen with next to nothing for AT LEAST a few days... I'm not a doctor/nutritionist/scientist but there is SO MUCH truth to not being able to lose because you are eating too few calories.…

I'm 5'10" and my exhusband was 5'7". When we started dating, I was about an inch shorter than him. I kept growing and he didn't. We were together for 7 years and, although I am a tomboy, it just didn't make me feel very feminine there at the end of the relationship. I never dated anyone less than 1 inch taller after him.

I love cereal as well. So, I take some protein powder and mix it with my almond milk and pour it over Cheerios! Voila! Still cereal AND I get protein. Yup! I also do that with oatmeal.

I've baked with EAS vanilla whey protein, GNC whey and casein both, and Cellucor whey proteins. All have turned out fine for me. I've used many different recipes. I now look at baked goods and scoff if they don't have protein.

Find your BMR which is based on your height, current weight, and age. This will help you see how much your body burns by doing nothing but breathing and is a good starting place!
-
Not a problem. As they say, "Abs are built in the gym but revealed in the kitchen." Diet is the hardest thing yet the most important aspect!
-
Have you looked up what your BMR is? 1200-1600 is a pretty broad range... and not that many really fit into it. I'm 5'9" and when I do nothing but breathe all day long, I need 1536 to just MAINTAIN. That doesn't include any exercise or walking from my car to my desk job. If I factor in a sedentary job with NO EXERCISE, I…

HEY! I'm a mom of 3 little humans ages 9, 7, and almost 4 (in less than 3 weeks :o ). I work full-time and go to school part-time. I'm a runner and a lifter of very heavy things. I eat much more than 1200 calories per day. I'm in better shape now than I was pre-kids. I've been at maintenance for about 3 years now and I…

You'd be surprised! I never thought my hips would get any smaller. Especially after having 3 babies (my last was over 9lbs). My hips are still wider than my highschool days but are MUCH smaller than what I was expecting!

I'm a hair shy of 5'10" and sitting at 157lbs today. I wear a 6 pretty comfortably (If I can ever find pants that fit correctly). At my thinnest of 143lbs, I wore a loose 4. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs (sigh for jeans shopping....) I always thought I had a large frame because I was always a little…

I'm in for the recommendations. I usually get my jeans from Vanity because they have a variety of fits and long inseams (I can't do below 35") for a pretty good price. They usually have them in store because I have a much smaller waist than most pants manufacturers think I should have base upon my butt and thigh size ( I…

I love to know/talk to people that have similar situations yet different. In a weird way, it helps me keep my body dismorphia in check. I battle with myself daily and getting input from others on any part that they might relate to helps me navigate through this process.

I want to say I followed my Nike app program for my half. It incorporates cross training in it and on my short runs (read: runs that could be completed in 45 min or less), I would do strength training on that day. I've found I get injured FAR LESS often when I lift than when I focus only on running.

Honestly? I guesstimate. I've tried to do like the previous people suggested and it consumed WAY too much time and helped create an obsession down to the littlest gram. Now, if I have lasagna (for example), I know there are 12 servings in a large dish I make so I cut it into 12 pieces then eat one piece. I put it into my…

Some people have given some great advice! I'm a mother to 3: 9 years old, 7 years old, 3 years old. I work full time for the government and go to school part time. To say my life is busy always seems like an understatement. BUT I always go to the gym. Usually 6 days a week. Why? Because I want to lead by example for my…

But the second I start eating too many carbs or too much food in general, that fat creeps on...

Review your macros. Weightlifting isn't causing fat around your middle section. According to my scale, tape and clothing size... my body fat is MUCH higher than it used to be. However, according to skin calipers, dr's tests and visible muscle tone... my body fat is lower. Skinny jeans are a no-go unless they are EXTREMELY…

Is the only way that you are measuring this "gain in body fat" with a measuring tape? My arms are bigger, my legs are bigger, my butt is bigger. None of which is an increase in body fat. I'm actually at a lower body fat percentage NOW than when I was 10 pounds lighter with a smaller butt, legs and arms. When I was on a…

My biggest motivator is if I run into my ex-husband or anyone that knows him, their jaws will drop when they see me. I want him to kick himself (REALLY hard) for leaving me to struggle with my (biologically, our) 2 children on my own. After that one, I want my husband now (who I feel has always been out of my league) to…

Hi!! I agree with keeping a food diary and being HONEST with it. You won't help yourself if you cheat and don't log everything. I also follow intermittent fasting. Single best choice I've made. I became a binge eater about a year and a half after losing all the weight (plus some) after my 3rd baby. I only gained about 15…

I used to have the same problem. I started following IF and had my window end before I would normally have my night binges. It has nearly stopped all the binges. I also downloaded a counter app to tell me how long it has been since my last binge. I'm SUPER competitive (even with myself) so this helps a ton! One last thing…

@mckaytobe: That makes complete sense. I workout in the early morning which keeps me on track the rest of the day because I don't want to "ruin" my workout. I'm also a big snacker and overeater at night which is part of the reason I started IF. The kitchen is simply closed outside of my eating window. There is no "I don't…

Is your appetite suppressed all day on days you get a workout in? Because I'm not hungry for a few hours after my workouts, but then I'm HUNGRY and know I need to eat to fuel my muscles. EXACTLY this!! If I screw it up, I'm like "ah Hell, there's always tomorrow" haha I get the terrible cycle. I also do IF! I've been…

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Others might give you advice but I know the emotional played into this just as much as the logical for me. I am currently increasing my calories because I KNOW my body needs it but the emotional fear is something I had to overcome slowly. I started with adding 10% of my calories for this week.…

I'm with her. I've never counted but I drink a gallon of water a day so that leads to many a times I go to the bathroom. I'm sure I pee AT LEAST 4-5 times at work and probably AT LEAST another 4-5 times the rest of the day.

Diet Soda I have no substitutions for you... I went cold turkey YEARS ago and haven't looked back since. I felt the positive effects of not having it in my diet after just a couple days.

I have to admit, I read this and instantly thought that you don't want to put in the work to get the results you say you want to achieve. I hear lots of excuses. I'm a mother of 3 so I understand feeling guilty for taking time away from your child. But I'd rather sacrifice a couple hours a week making myself healthy than…
