I'm a 28 year old mother of three! I've got a 9, 7, and 3 year old. Add me if you would like!

I decided to give not working out another day as I had a doctor appt this morning to evaluate my hip. I ended up getting an injection to hopefully calm my inflammation and *crossing my fingers* I should be able to run this coming weekend! The eating did calm a little... However, Oktoberfest meant I had some good beers and…

I can only speak for myself and what has worked for me, but going lighter with more reps on legs helps to keep them from getting too big too fast. I did spin for about a year and my legs never got big and bulky. But with spin, I was also eating at a deficit. I may be wrong, but it almost sounds like you want something that…

When you say toning, what do you mean? Since you are asking for a cardio machine in the title, I'm assuming you want to reduce fat in your legs. In that case, you cannot spot reduce. You will lose body fat overall. Remember a calorie deficit is super important here. If you want cardio that requires lots of leg work, the…

This!! YES! I, too, don't deprive myself and have a "treat" every single day. I get this. I've always been a bread lover. My grandfather calls me the "bread lady" due to my love of bread when I was younger. I've refined my habits but still enjoy some good, dense, bread. It's horrible, really. There lies the problem, sorta.…

I'm not alone! Hallelujah!! I don't eat a ton on rest days. I don't eat out of boredom. I just crave/choose really crappy foods. Like yesterday was a maple bar AND an apple fritter. That's what sucks. I don't have anymore weight to lose. I'm at a perfectly healthy weight and anticipate even gaining muscle mass (which…

You have described intermittent fasting. there is a group on here. I currently follow IF. I eat during an 8 hour window each day which is 2 meals and a couple snacks. I'm just not a person that is hungry in the morning so I wait until afternoon to start eating when I am actually hungry. As long as you are getting…

I used to have this issue with my husband. We are like minded in that we both LOVE working out but our eating habits are very different. However, this wasn't an issue after I actually told him what I was trying to accomplish. We make most of our food at home anyway but when I asked him for help in steering clear of my…

I can really relate to your situation. I've faced this twice in my life: 1) When I got pregnant with my daughter (my first) at 18 years old. This is where I lost 97% of my friends. We just couldn't relate to one another anymore. They didn't understand my new responsibility and I couldn't hang out like I used to. We grew…

So can we start our 2 week challenge whenever we want? Or how does this work? I just don't have the desire to scroll through every page of every thread to read every comment... My apologies in advance if I piss anyone off with this question.

Hey! I'm that tall, "not-that-heavy" girl that runs! My pr for distance is currently 12 miles and was hoping to hit 13.1 the end of last month but was sidelined due to an injury. I'm always up for active friends who are supportive!
-
I've added a couple people who are close but to those that come after, add me if we are close. Or if you just need a friend because I like active friends! 28 years old Female 5'9" (almost 5'10" but I'm not counting above 5'9"... I always wanted to be shorter) sw in 2011: 187 lbs cw: 155 lbs (have maintained about +/- 5lbs…

I drink at least 16 cups a day. It was harder at first but you grow accustomed to constantly having a water bottle with you. I even have friends ask where my bottle is if I don't have it in sight...

I'm here for the recipes!

I started IF following 16/8 just over a week ago and I love it! My binges have been nearly eliminated and I'm more aware of when I am hungry and the food choices I am making. It's finally helping me get down to my race weight that I've been struggling to get back to this season! Feel free to add me!

As someone who is in recovery from an ED, you have a problem. It is NOT dedication and you can actually do more harm to your body in the long run than the short term "active and healthy" lifestyle you live now. You can get the results you want with LESS than HALF the work you are putting in now. Quality over Quantity. BTW,…

I count my green tea. I drink about 4 cups of it a day. I do not count my 1 cup of coffee or other drinks I might have. I don't drink much besides tea, coffee and plain water anyways. If I happen to have an energy drink, I don't count it. Same with a lemonade, etc.

Obviously. I was looking for suggestions or to see if others have experienced similar issues. Call it .... brainstorming. Yes, I did suffer from anorexia when I was younger. I also suffered from other EDs. Since this post, I have started IF. I'm currently on a 16/8 and love it. It has stopped my wanting to binge completely…

I have looked very little into IF and am intrigued. I don't know if that stems from my previous battle with anorexia or not, but I'm willing to give it a go. What is "14/10 or 16/8"? I'm assuming that correlates to the hours you would be fasting each day?

First, not looking for professional advice as I have battled eating disorders since I was young. Hence, why I included a disclaimer in my post. With IIFYM, I got excited to try something different. I still ate like I used to but indulged in more crap than every before. Again, my weight went up (ED freaking out) and my…

Hey!! I found my love for running about 14 months ago. Since then, I have completed numerous 5Ks, a handful of 10Ks and am now training for my first half marathon scheduled at the end of August. Growing up, I HATED running! I played fastpitch softball and truely believe that is what I was put on Earth to do... When I…

I always rely on the saying "The weak cannot help the weak. Only the strong can help the weak." Or something like that... Basically, focus on YOU. Make yourself the best you can and THEN you can help others without feeling overwhelmed.

What type of workout are you wanting this playlist for? When I run, I find that songs with really good lyrics keep me going. Things like Alicia Keys "Superwoman" and such... When I lift, Eminem never steers me wrong.. or some Classic Rock. But that's me!

I don't carry my weight around my middle so it would have to be damn near leggings to get the stretch I need to fit my thighs and waist! ETA: All my jeans are stretch and I still have to wear a belt with most of them. Skinny jeans? HA! yeah right...

I'm totally with you on still shopping in the juniors section!! Except I might have to give in soon because my *kitten* just doesn't fit in those curve-less jeans. Hey all!! 5'9" here! Heaviest was after delivering my 2nd baby at 195 lbs. I was about a size 16 then. I got down to 155 before getting pregnant with my 3rd. I…

I got serious after having my 3rd baby and delivering at 187. I dropped to 175 right after and within 3 months I was at 152 then dropped to 145 about 2 months after that. Then I found intense weight training and I fluctuate in the 150s now. I'm 5'9" and trying to find my race weight of about 150 now.
-
That makes complete sense. It also explains WHY I run better since I have started lifting. Thank you! There is NO WAY I could fit in 4 days of lifting with my running, work, and kids' schedules to factor in. I do have my complete rest day the day before my long runs. I found out about 6 months ago what overtraining can do.…

I'm a lifter of very heavy things! I'm also a runner in race season right now but you can definitely add me!
-
I, too, have to lift on running days because I am running at such a mileage for the week that it is unavoidable. I did my first run and lift day yesterday where I only lifted to maintain and it wasn't nearly as much fun as lifting to build is :grumble: I guess it's just coming to terms with not lifting as much. Because,…
