I am not a great data collector: I abhor routine and rigid demands. I do, however watch my blood ketones. However, I have not much more than an elementary understanding of what is going on. So, I don't know I offer much help to you. That said, my ketone readings are generally high. This week alone I produced a 5.5 mM and a…

yes - that describes my experience, too. Additionally, my joints aren't as achy, thanks to the reduced inflammatory carbs in my system. MY body feels so much better eating in this fashion.

Hi all - Yesterday I did workout 3B. I am enjoying the program and I like adding weight! I've been doing some of these moves for the last year, but was lazy and didn't add weight, or change anything up. Thanks to New Rules, I'm doing that. Yesterday I was preparing to do my lunges, and the gym owner (who was very chatty…

Had to run in the rain today! It felt great! :) Jill

Hanging in there! 100 miles is an aggressive goal for me and my body is feeling tired, but I'm sticking to it and haven't missed a scheduled day. I am getting stronger every day…

I believe in lifting over cardio. Not that cardio is bad, don't take it that way. You are going to love your body if you start lifting heavy. I've been doing all of the basic lifts for a year now and have decided to shake it up and now I'm following the New Rules of Lifting for Women. That is an excellent guide to help you…

I just started last week. I have a question, in the first week we aren't supposed to be adding any weight yet, correct? We increase the second week. Jill

embrace your 15 and make it 20 tomorrow or next week. It is 15 because you are just starting. You have to earn your way to those longer sessions. Also, your body needs to adjust to the increasing exercise. If one day you felt full of energy and ran for an hour, without being properly trained, you'll likely end up with foot…

I agree, the book is confusing. Jill

I don't even want to LOOK at a scale! I am focussing on my macros and my jeans :) When the scale is invited to the party, I become so obsessed with what the scale thinks. I prefer to know what my jeans think. Looking forward to round one, week two. :) Jill

Google LCHF or Keto recipes. You will find a ton of options and ideas. Once you get your macros balances out, calories won't be a concern, so much. The challenge will be to eat enough calories, you will be so full from the energy dense foods.

Check out the body building web sites and follow what they do when they want to drop weight fast. I think many of them follow a carb-restricted diet when they want to cut. You could probably drop seven pounds in two weeks going low carb. edited to add: Good Luck! Let us know when you win!!!!!

I just started New Rules this week. So far, so good. I like that it seems to include my previous lifts that I know are primary and important lifts. Looking forward to working my way through this program, now, if I can just figure out the logs! Jill

Thanks for the clarification on what you are after. As far as food or snack options google LCHF or Keto recipes. You'll get a ton of options. nuts are great Deviled eggs are a tasty snack, too. Coffee with heavy cream full fat greek yogurt Also, fat bombs (especially those with coconut oil) can be an excellent source of…

I don't consume sugar and my body feels much better for it. Sugar is one more highly processed food. I do not care what kind of diet you follow (just calorie counting, paleo, "clean eating," keto, ... processed foods are never good for you. Furthermore, if you cut sugar out of your diet, within a week's time you will no…

can cows really be tipped? hey, I just don't know. I'm not from that part of the country BTW, EXCELLENT ideas here!

You're looking great! Keep it going! Don't we all wish we took great "before" pictures. The "before" moment is usually when one feels the worst about him or herself. Taking very personal and embarrassing pictures about a body gone awry is absolutely the last thing you want to have done. It's hard to imagine that in a few…

Day three and about 85 left :)

I am confused by your post. What are you asking? Which part is not "mixing." Are you asking why it is so hard to eat the !,200 calories, or is it that you do not have enough energy for exercise (because you ARE under eating) I am not sure. It looks as if you have a ketogenic diet. The rule with it is keep your carbs low,…

2 days in and 90 miles to go!

Did you work out after you tried it? The bio on the guy who developed it is interesting, imprisoned for creating designer steroids. He must know his chemistry. I am EARLY into 6 weeks of a challenging workout plan. I've been low carb for a couple of weeks and am in ketosis, but just starting to really track my proteins and…

Thanks from me too! I am starting today (this morning) and I won't be able to get to my book until this afternoon! You kept me on track :)

I hung in there! hooray. I was in charged of mashed potatoes. I brought both mashed potatoes and mashed cauliflower (full of cheese and butter) :) I had a nice scoop of cauliflower, fried turkey, and green beans. Probably hit the red wine more than I should have, but did steer clear of the desserts. I was the only one not…
