  • Sugar free jelly? Fat free Greek yogurt? Or a quick workout to earn another 100?
  • I've started setting weekly and monthly goals to keep me on track. E.g. run 50miles in January, eat 8 a day fruit & veg for 5 days out of 30, homemade lunches 4times a week instead of relying on the artery-clogging staff canteen menu... I've generally found it easier to set goals that I have full control over (food &…
  • Cardio junkie here...I tend to do 2-3 hours running per week (4-5during half marathon training) and maybe another 30mins in gym cardio or HIIT workouts.
  • 4400 a DAY??? That sounds a little excessive...! My biggest burn comes from running, which might not be an option for you yet. After that it's cleaning and walking.
  • Some creeps on there....but I met my husband online so it's not all bad!
  • and Home Alone
  • couldn't resist another one....slightly wishful thinking still for some of it... (To Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer) Sarah the running junkie Had a very shiny nose And like a real lady She didn’t sweat she would just “glow” All of the lorry drivers Used to laugh and call her names They didn’t get the appeal Of running in…
  • not set any goals for the past coupl of weeks so here are this week's 1) 300 crunches over the course of the week (= just under 50 a day) 2) run a total ofm15miles 3) NO SNACKS ON THE SDAY OF THE XMAS PARTY! (19th Dec) just healthy breakfast + lunch 4) Burn at least 500calories per day
  • This week went better than I thought...was terrible with food but really stepped up the exercise so shed another small bit of weight: SW - 1st Dec - 82.9kg Wt 8th Dec - 82.5kg Wt 15th Dec - 82.0kg Goal 1st March - 72kg Quite slow at the moment but festive season is making stying on track a bit of a nightmare!
  • Been rubbish at checking in but still keeping reasonably on track SW - 1st Dec - 82.9kg Weight 8th Dec - 82.5kg Goal 1st March - 72kg
  • Here's my attempt... Kettle bells kettle bells Swinging all the way Oh what fun it is to sweat On a cold wet winters’ day HEY! Kettle bells kettle bells Swinging all the way Oh what fun it is to sweat All the snacks and treats away
  • I don't allow myself any till December after my stepson nicknamed me "Pie-monster" 3 Christmases ago...!! Although, they are fruity, so can they be classed as one of your 5 a day...??
  • I've been on MFP for over a year and am a serial yoyo-er. My goals for the next 3 months are... 1) not to get completely derailed by Xmas...it lasts a day, not a month! 2) try some new exercise classes. 3) get back to half-marathon fitness 4) stay away from the constant office cake supply! At least once or twice...! 5) eat…

  • Aiming to get to the gym before work 3 times this week, plus a couple of lunchtime walks.
  • SW (12/1): 82.9kg GW (3/1): 72kg Main goal is to keep on track with the impending festive season and not let one meal out derail an entire week!
  • I quite like winter running...once I get warmed up! I tend to wear running tights and a long sleeved lined top. (Start fitness do a good one if you're in the UK) thumb holes are good as you can keep your hands warm without overheating in gloves. I tend to wear a huge stretchy headband/bandana rather than a hat since I have…
  • Just started having a look around the website...is it really just $10 a year? What do you get for that? Oh and can Brits join?!
  • Last week weight: 82.9kg This week weight: 83kg Lost in challenge: nothing! Till goal: can't remember...! Will try a lot harder this week!
  • No idea about availability outside the UK, but my favourite brands are Ronhill and Odlo. They stay put so I don't have to keep hoiking them up mid run, unlike a lot of sports brand attempts of running tights...!
  • I'm naturally cautious so my suggestion would be to wait till autumn if you can. Having said that, you are one of the most determined friends I have on here so I reckon that you easily have what it takes to crack on with training for a spring one! Have you joined the long distance runners group on here? Really…
  • I'm both a stepdaughter and a stepmum, but I don't think my experiences will help as I met my stepkids when they were 5&6 and my dad remarried when I was 26! Maybe talk to your daughter about how she can help when the baby arrives? Say that it will be a big help for her to e.g. pass nappies, get you a drink whilst you're…
  • Current weight: 82.9kg (=182.8lb) Goal weight (challenge): 79.5kg (=175.3lb) Amount lost in challenge so far: 0 Number of mountain climbers I will be attempting this week (spread out): 200 Number of days I will try to resist all forms of chocolate: 2 (some low cal hot choc or a freddo may be required on other days...!)…
  • I started running 7 years ago and 4 5ks, 3 10ks, 9 HM and one full 26.2 later, I think I can say I'm hooked...! Few handy tips... - start slow, walk if you have to. Maybe do 1min run/2min walk to start with and build up distances sloooowwly! - go to a proper running shop for shoes...the wrong ones can wreak havoc! - listen…
  • Are you weighing yourself at the same time of day each time? With the same amount of clothing? (Or lack thereof!) Also, is the scale on a flat hard surface? My bathroom floor is uneven and I can get up to a 3kg difference depending on where I put the scales (cue anguished howls or squeals of joy...!!) So I try to make sure…
  • Jasmine green tea is really nice...or try white tea, which is less bitter.
  • Clean your teeth! Everything tastes weird after minty toothpaste so the temptation won't be there. I also second the drinking lots of water.
  • I tend to eat back most of my exercise calories, mainly so I'm not insanely hungry the next day! I'll sometimes save some for a weekend, but make sure I net over 1200.
  • Have you spoken to your partner about your feelings? Maybe some couples counselling or just sitting together and discussing where you think you're going might help. I don't know what your issues are but fixing the problem might not necessarily mean splitting up altogether. And you are definitely not the only person who…
  • As a vegetarian student, chickpeas became my best friend! Cheap and you can get a meal out of a can! Try making falafel (spicy chickpea burgers/balls) - there are loads of recipes out there and most of them are gluten free. Most tinned beans or pulses can easily bulk up a veggie stir fry to make it more filling as well.…
