I say fitness first!!! I had cervical cancer a few years ago. Once you go through a health issue, you realize how valuable your health really is. However, I do think fashion is a nice bonus gift!

I will add my two cents worth to this. If your husband doesn't like what you cook, then maybe he should do some of the cooking! Depending on the ages of your kids, I would say the same thing (only if they are old enough of course! I have teenagers) Otherwise, if you are the one preparing the meals then the family can "take…

I think it is a combination of many factors with education being a very important key. Not just educating on making healthy choices, but learning how to prepare the foods. I used to work with pregnant teens and one of the exercises I would have them do is go to the grocery store with $10.00. It was an exercise to help…

A few months after having my second child (and still breastfeeding) I went to a lingerie store to buy a new bra. I told the sales associate, a woman in her late 50's or so, that I wanted something sexy and not my usual utilitarian nursing bra. She gave me a pitiful look and said to me"Oh, big girls like you don't want…

I loved reading these! I don't have many odd food habits but my brother is a completely different story! I guess my odd habbit would be having to cut any of my citrus fruit in wedges to eat them. Lemons, limes, grapefruits and oranges...I love them all!

These are great responses. Thank you. One of the challenges is we do not currently live together so obviously he does all of his own cooking (and he is a great cook!). We plan on moving in together next spring and we will be getting married in the next year or two. Once we are living together, I can help with the portion…

I make baked kale chips. Even my teenage sons like them! Wash and drp a head of kale. Cup the leaves from the stems and pout on a baking sheet. Drizzle with some olive oil and add a bit of sea salt and black pepper ( you can also use lemon pepper, cayenne etc) Bake at 350degrees for about 25 minutes. When I am wanting…

Whole grains are complex carbs. UNfortunately I tend, though to go for the sesame seed bagel and not the multi grain. I am still learning this as well only having been diagnosed this summer.

Perfect!!! :o)

Thank you. I should provide some more information. I wrote my question quickly! I have hypothyroidism and so I am even slower to digest (and ultimately use) simple carbohydrates. I understand the need for carbs and would like to be able to ensure that I reduce the number of simple carbs in exchange for healthier complex…

For something a bit different, I love to sautee fresh garlic in a bit of olive oil. Then I add sundried tomatoes. Mix them all about until they are nice and plump from the olive oil and garlic, them throw in a handfull of spinach to wilt it. Very yummy!

I am a cancer survivor and that is my motiviation. Survivor. I owe it to myself to take care of myself. I was given a second chance and I won't take that for granted. I'm not aiming for the imaginary "perfect body" I am aiming for the strong, powerful and healthy body. I never know if the cancer will come back and I want…
