  • It was. It didn't even make it home. I ate it in the car in the parking lot.
  • I had pancakes this morning. Sometimes, I add a little apple sauce to the batter, or mashed banana, sweet potato, grated zucchini, or nuts for protein. This morning, I added a scoop of PB2 to the batter, and they were so good that they didn't even need syrup. Once in a while, I'll replace the flour in the recipe with Bob's…
  • I agree with getting counseling. You are going through a horribly stressful time, and it helps to have someone who is non-judgemental and objective to talk to. It's a good way to put all those emotions out there and to not let them fester inside you. I have issues with emotional eating too, so I just got rid of all the…
  • You can hide just about anything in spaghetti sauce. I like to grate up squash or zucchini and cook it down in the sauce. You can't taste it at all.
  • Boiled seafood is very low in calories. Order the blackened redfish. Also shrimp creole but don't eat all the rice. I live near New Orleans and go there all the time. There are healthy options on the menus.
  • Mine is open.
  • I weigh every morning as soon as I go to the bathroom. It helps me to track which foods make me retain water, and some of the medications I take have sudden weight gain as one of their more serious side effects. If I suddenly gain several pounds, then I know I have to get straight into the doctor's office.
  • I got frustrated and quit
  • Have you recently made a huge dietary change in the kinds of foods you eat? If you are suddenly eating more fruits and vegetables, or a lot more red meat, you're probably producing a whole lot of gas. Even if you're not passing it during the day, it probably works its way out while you're sleeping, which would explain why…
  • You can always pack your own food. That's what I did when I worked at a McDonald's in high school. 21 years later, and the smell of fries cooking in grease still makes me gag.
  • During my second pregnancy, I didn't run, but I rode a stationary bike, swam, did yoga until I couldn't get into a lotus pose anymore, and did lots of yoga. I'm reasonably sure that's why I had such an easy labor and birth. I was remarkably healthy and back to my pre-pregnancy weight before I left the hospital. With my…
  • Sleep apnea. My feet, knees, hips, and lower back hurts ALL THE TIME. I want to get off the pain meds. Also, I want to be pretty. I'm in the process of getting ready for weight loss surgery in December.
  • I will be having WLS in a couple of months. I won't go into my history, but I'll just say that it's the best option for me. That said, if you can do it without surgery, do it. Why go through all the pain and difficulty of WLS if you can do it another way?
  • I like Ken's Steakhouse light Caesar vinegrette. The oil floating on the top of it grosses me out, so I pour it off. I have no idea how much it reduces the calorie count, but I figure it won't hurt to pour it off.
  • I'm not making an accusation. It's a valid concern. I have watched a dear friend struggle with her ednos, over a period of over 20 years. I've watched her struggle with body dysmorphia and her fear of gaining weight. It hurt my heart so much to see her pain, and I would hate to see another young woman struggle in that way.
  • Is it possible that you're slipping back into eating disordered thinking? At 108 pounds and at your height, you are very, very thin.
  • No. They are all grains, but not all wheat.
  • Maybe eat at maintenance until you're better.
  • If you're worried that eating before bed will make you gain weight or not lose, don't worry about that. Your body doesn't care when you eat, just how many calories you eat over time. Save some from your allowance and have a snack with some protein before bed. You'll sleep better.
  • Thank you!
  • I really wish I could sustain this. I really do. I've been overweight since I was 10, and I'm 40 now. Only at one time (when I was 19 and very ill with undiagnosed crohn's disease), have I ever been at a point where I was not overweight if not obese. I may lose at this rate for a month, maybe two, but then it will stall.…
  • Diamondhead Mississippi
  • I would like to congratulate you on your weight loss! That's amazing! Now, please take into consideration that people who resort to medications or surgery generally do so after years of unsuccessful effort. For me, 30 years. I was well under control for a long time, when I gained a large amount of weight due to a medical…
  • It made me high as a kite. And phentermine made me rageful and anxious. Not so much weight loss.
  • Yeah, you many need to see a doctor. I have that kind of swelling sometimes, and it's a sign that I have something serious brewing. Especially if you are having pain as well. I do have a specific medical issue that causes this, but I can't say that's what's wrong with you.
  • You are lovely. You are worth this. You deserve good health and to feel good about what you see in the mirror. Weight loss is achievable, and when those first pounds start falling off when you start making better choices, it's like a high. Send me a friend request if you like. My journey may be taking a different direction…
  • Pickled cherry peppers or pickled cauliflower. For some strange reason, the strong flavor of these foods will kill any craving I have, even for ice cream, chips, or brownies. I can't tell you why, but it works. The vinegary taste gives me the shivers, but all I have to do is eat one piece.
  • My record is 21 days. Of course I wound up in the hospital and they had to knock me out and go in and get it, but that was due to me having underlying health issues. Anyway, if you're not uncomfortable, it's not really something to worry about. Not everyone goes every day.
  • At this point, the breastfeeding is probably not the issue. Are you weighing you food?
  • As active as you are, it may be that those 10-15 pounds are supposed to be there. I don't know your weight or BMI, but if your doctor says you are at a healthy weight for your age and height, perhaps you should go into maintenance. Keep working out and eating healthy, but stop beating yourself up.
