  • small amounts of really good dark chocolate, cheese sticks and feta are things I just LOVE that I can have. ETA: I've found all three go a long way in satisfying cravings for certain things, especially feta. One tablespoon on a salad is like a whole new salad. :)
  • Salad dressings. You'd be better off making your own vinaigrettes or even creamy from scratch if that's your thing. Also, premade oatmeal packets, and "healthy" cereals with high sugar contents.
  • Except you can buy a canister of oatmeal for $4 that will go farther than the $2 cereal, you can eat meatless which is always leaner than the leanest meat and still have a lot of protein. There are more ways than just chicken with broccoli and brown rice on the side - lentil curry, veggie and bean stew, veggie lasagna,…
  • I change up my workouts all the time. I might do a bunch of Just Dance for wii, I might jog, I might do pilates, I might do yoga, I might do 30 day shred and I always add some at home weight training using body weight exercises, kettlebells or dumbbells... I like trying new things and keeping it new all the time. I work…
  • I have a LOT to lose and I've just lost 3 pounds over the past month, but I have lost several inches already - and I can run without wanting to keel over! If you're doing everything right, you're probably gaining muscle and long term, that's going to help you burn fat and keep your metabolism up. Change up your workout…
  • I'm trying to change my habits in a set pattern. My daughter naps every day at a certain time so I KNOW I have that time to do whatever it is I want to do to work out. After a week or so in this pattern, I feel a lot more motivated to do it because, well, "it's what I do" at naptime. I also have been trying to have the…

  • 1:30 down. Just 13:30 left! Haha.
  • bumping this, took me forever to find it. About to start right now!
  • I'm doing one in August. I'm starting walking today, doing c25k or jeff galloway starting in March. I'm going to run half, walk half most likely - we'll see though!
  • If your muscles ache, they're retaining water. Doubly so if you are not drinking enough water - your body just keeps holding onto it. If your muscles are sore they're also probably growing/building, so you're adding some weight with that as you start building muscle back up. Just be patient, drink as many oz as humanly…
  • I'm in! Today is rest day, will start tomorrow :)
  • You could be gaining muscles. I gained/lost the same pound for a week, then dropped another .6 of a pound. If you're doing everything right, including drinking enough water, it could just be that you're getting muscular. Try taking measurements (with a measuring tape in inches/cm and see how you're doing that way, too.…
  • You can do it!! I just started yesterday and I'm still feeling the burn but we are both going to be runners after this! :)
  • To be honest, I just realized I wasn't happy with myself. I wasn't the person I was even just a few short years ago and I was tired of never having energy. This time, I'm taking baby steps to start my journey. It's different this time.. I am ready. I want it. I can do it. I don't want my daughter to ever remember a time…
  • I just started couch to 5k and also do Jillian's 30 day shred. Both of those come in under 30 minutes but really get your heart rate going, just starting out. Plus, with Couch to 5k, you can push yourself as hard as you like. There is also a dance video on Netflix (I'd have to look it up, though) along with a few others…
  • Any sort of circuit training!! It always works to kick my weight loss into gear, especially if you do a couple of different circuits per week. Good luck! I don't think that's too much to try for, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose (like me!)
  • I love the idea of buying a smaller size in something and trying it on until it fits one day.. that is great! I make my goals usually by how many pounds per week. Since I'm starting from a fairly unhealthy lifestyle, I'm going for 40 pounds gone by the first week in June... it's about 4lbs/week (19 weeks). I will probably…
  • Hi there! I am in Cincy and also had a baby recently, though mine is about 7 months older than yours :) I'm 23, so right around your age. We moved to Cincy right before I had her so I don't have many friends here... would love to be your motivation buddy! I need to lose more than you, but want to lose 40 pounds before…
