Well don´t lissen to MFP calculator it underestimate maintenance big time

You can only gain muscle mass and loss fat at the same time, when you just starting with weightlifting. But that won´t last for a long period.
-
Well i see no sources in the article nor any really number of test subjects or how long the study/test were done. Unless i miss the real article.

poorly done study if you ask me

Every one can lose weight (unless you have a rare medical condition, which you probaly do not have). Just calculate your BMR and TDEE using a online calculator like (IIFYM calculator). The most important thing to do is weight your food!!!!! Then log everything (also log drinks). To be honest there is no such thing as…

I do agree with you but interval training doesn't make it ''HIIT''. interval training (IT) or LISS and weightlifting on the same day is fine. But real HIIT training (like max sprints) is not recommended on the same day. I also prefer doing normal interval training on the same day i lift weights.
-
Cause when you lift heavy first most of your energy will be used for weightlifting. So when you also planning to do HIIT on the same day your body will receive alot of stress. Also your HIIT training will be pritty weak which makes it not a real HIIT training. After a good HIIT training you should be burned out to the max.…

Do you weight your food? what is your BF? what is your TDEE? Do you do carb refeeds? More info would be nice so we can give you better advice. Tips: - Weight your food (and also do not forget to log your drinks) - Eat bellow Maintaince (i recommend 10-15% bellow) - Lift hard and heavy (and no you won't get bulky) - Drink a…

Weightlifting and HIIT on the same day is not recommended, LISS and weightlifting on the same day is fine. Just do HIIT on your ''off days''

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/carb-refeeding-and-weight-loss/#axzz36vOWavY1 That's an article on carb refeeds. It is posible to lose 2 lbs again, I am 16weeks in my diet and I lose more weight now then when I started. (I do use carb refeeds since week 12)
-
Only way to find out, is to try it ^^
-
I want to be 200 lbs (90kg) with about 8-10% body fat, while being able to squat and deadlift around 200 kg each.
-
losing 1-2 lbs a week, is weight loss from the books. It is the recommend pace which you should aim for while losing weight. The slower you lose weight the better your skin can ajust and keep your energy levels around the same. i would also recommend when you reach 18% BF to add some carb refeeds every 2 weeks.
-
Like most posters allready claim, up your fats. Also i found out that drinking alot of water helps your skin alot
-
There isn't really a necessity to apply this, even though the poster means really well, most of the things he said are outdated/debunked. You just need to eat in a calorie deficit and hit your minimal protein and fat macro's. I agree with the drinking water part. Also cardio is up to you, it is not needed to lose weight.…

This forum on bodybuidling.com explanes everything about macro's and how to caculate them and your daily calorie needs. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=156380183 this morning i ate a 1000 cal breakfast, just make sure you don't go above your total cals ^^

Use this from Emma-Leigh Katch-McArdle:Considered the most accurate for those who are relatively lean. Use if you have a good estimate of your bodyfat %. BMR = 370 + (21.6 x LBM)Where LBM = [total weight (kg) x (100 - bodyfat %)]/100 Again - these are BMR calculations. To convert to a TOTAL requirement you need to multiply…

Well Mark goodjob on finishing your first week and losing 3lbs, keep going. When it comes to the drinks you can try to drink different kinds of tea, there must be one out there that you like. Or you can drink water and use a lemon to sweeten it. I meself drink only water and tea. Also it takes more then a week to ''make…

No it doesn't. Your body uses fat as enegery (your body breaks down fats into glycerol and fatty acids in the process of lipolysis. The fatty acids can then be broken down directly to get energy) . They say it takes you 9000 cals to burn 1kg, so lets say your in a deflict of 500 cals a day 7 days a week. it would take 18…

Well the tricky thing is, you don't really notice because you see yourself everyday. Often the first thing you notice is your cloths, not even how you look. Other ppl can see you lost weight, but often you yourself cannot.

Be honest with her, tell her you are scared for her health. Be completely honest maybe it will finaly open her eye's
-
well it could be that you are starting of with to low amounts of cals. Whats your weight, age and activiaty level? MFP is known for setting cals to low. Edit: Aim to lose about 1-2lbs a week (so 300-500 grams), if you lose more up your cals a bit. If you lose less then reduce.
