So, are you saying she needs to eat a little more to continue to lose weight? I'm so confused on the whole metabolism thing <sigh>

What is your calorie alotment? Since starting MFP, I have found ways to add low-cal protein snacks to my day and I rarely go over my 1200 calories for the day. One idea is I buy turkey ham and slice it into 2oz portions. It is about 60 calories and 8 grams of protein. Also, I get goat chese in 1 oz packages (from Costco)…

Yeah...that was a little snide. I don't eat the stuff myself, but if I did, I'd be happy to give you tips. Good luck : -)
-
Thank you...and how does one calculate that (I'm sorry to be so ignorant).
-
I'm totally ignorant about achronyms...what is TDEE?

I truly appreciate everyone's input here. I am going to be extremely diligent about hitting my alotment of calories and see if things change. I always welcome feedback on my food diary and am open to suggestions on how to improve. It's SO nice to have this forum...I appreciate everyone!

Well, something caused me to gain weight. I had to put 2 pair of pants away because they no longer fit right, but no weight loss.

Great information...thank you so much!

This is great! Thanks!!!

HAHA...you said bowel...vs. bowl. Makes me want to eat oatmeal : -) Great tips, thanks!
-
Very interesting...I am going to have to give that a try. THANKS!

Thanks for all the tips, I really appreciate it! I will look into the bars. I eat a Fiber One brownie every night for my treat, I eat double fiber bread, quinoa, steel cut oats...but nothing. I definitely can increase my veggie and fruit intake. It's only this week where I've been taking in a lower amount of calories and I…

I was just coming on this board to ask the same question. I walked 20 minutes on a treadmill and the treadmill estimated that I burned about 100 calories. When I put it into MFP, it showed over 200 calories burned. Problem is that I often bank on eating back those extra calories and do not want to eat incorrectly. I'm…

Yep, I get that...but calorie wise and health wise, which is the better method? Cut fat / skin off before you cook - or after?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Ginger w/ Beets...yummy! I love the golden beets when they are in seaseon. I often slice them and throw them on the grill with just a pinch of olive oil and salt. Otherwise, I have been known to eat them right out of a can when the fresh ones are not available. I also love beets on a salad…

I love eggplant! Sometimes, I cube them up and toss w/ a tiny bit of olive oil and spices and throw them in the oven for 30 minutes (then I top them with a little parmesean cheese). My good friend slices them up, dips them in egg and coats them in mashed up fiber one cereal then bakes them in the oven to resemble fried…

Did you experience this lull yesterday after eating the brownberry? I think brownberry's number one ingredient is 100% whole grain wheat, which is a much more complex carb and less likely to cause blood glucose dips. [/quote] As a matter of fact, I did not hit this lull yesterday. I actually don't know why I went reaching…

I have opened up my food diary...I totally welcome feedback on it - especially if anyone has any ideas on how I could be doing better. I try really hard to have healthy, low-cal snacks around and try to eat like 6 times per day. Unfortunately, my heart does not care for caffein so I must decline coffee and energy drinks ;…

This is VERY interesting to me. Can you elaborate on this a little further? How often are cravings related to a lack of nutrients? Thanks! P.S. it's everything in me right now not to go get a snicker bar from the vending machine...biting my nails is just not doing the trick, LOL.

the smartest thing you can do is GO TO THE DOCTOR to rule things out. I am a person with a crazy esophageal disease - you know, one out of every 100,000 people are afflicted - and I am treated at the Mayo clinic. I've been through all of the heinous tests and have tried every reflux medication out there (the one that works…

Thanks Fire-Rock (and everyone!)

So, is it true (or not) that sugars that come from raw or whole foods are better metabolized than refined sugar? And if it's better metabolized, should it then be treated somewhat differently? I totally get the natural sugar / carb thing. I do tend to agree that eating a balanced diet including fruits and vegetables is…

I love Kashi Go-Lean High Fiber Cereal (1-cup = 140 cal) w/ a cup of Vanilla Soy Milk (1-cup = 100 cal). It seems to be the only cereal that sticks with me. Other cereals seem to make me hungry after just an hour or so. My brother insists that you can throw a couple of scrambled eggs in a mug of sorts, toss it in the…

This is more like how I do things...it seems to be consistently what professionals want us to do. eat frequently.

I don't think it's the tea...are you sure you don't have the flu?
-
Same here also. I am not hungry for at least an hour after I work out. If I work out in the morning, I wait to eat. If I work out any other time, I will just eat after I cool down.
-
Thanks...good to know. I definitely stay at or just under the 1200 calories. I really believe in a balanced diet and do not want to over or under eat anything. I appreciate your time!
