Hi: I drink hot tea instead of infused water I go to the gym early in the morning , before my day starts I change to fuller,denser meals for the winter , ( i.e sardines with quinoa instead of tuna; warm soup instead of raw salad; etc) I hope it helps

@rod2341 : welcome to MFP. There are many variations available for homemade protein shake. You have to find what you like and give you "more bang for your buck" I use whey protein isolate in powder form, a banana, 2% milk, some raw pineapple. I prepare mine without sugar. This is way cheaper than buying an " off the shelf"…
